The entire perimeter of our home was dug out for waterproofing in the spring, and we needed someone to repair the asphalt on one side now that everything has settled. Danny responded to our call promptly, gave us a quote over the phone, and scheduled the work within a week. We had called a couple of other referrals first, and those other companies never showed up to do a site quote. Danny and his team did the asphalt repair quickly and very professionally - cutting away all the damaged portions and making a clean line that looked much better than we expected. Everything was properly sloped away from our house, and we are extremely impressed with this company. We will definitely be calling them to seal our new stone patio next season!

First piece of advice: do not buy LG appliances, as we have since learned from several sources. LG parts are only available through their list of repair people, you cannot hire any repair person you want, and therefore you are stuck with who they send out. Our LG fridge is only 2 years old and the compressor blew - apparently a common issue. LG told us it would be a month before one of their approved technicians could repair it. We complained and they were able to get someone out sooner, from ARS. LG charged us $250 to buy a flat fee warranty for ARS to do the repair work, because parts were covered but labour was not. This repair company has multiple websites (www.arsrepair.ca, www.appliancesrepairservice.ca, etc). Their technician was Peter, and he destroyed our wood floor by not putting anything down to protect it when he moved the fridge - repeatedly. He also appears to have punctured the floor and tried to put filler down to cover it up, which we didn't discover right away. He apologized profusely at the time for causing the 3-foot long gouges in our 2 year old floor, but we still needed to try to get it repaired. Communicating with ARS after the fact has been very unpleasant and unprofessional. We were asked to provide photos of the damage, then nobody got back to us, then I was told it was being reviewed by the "technical department". I finally had a discussion with Noah, who said we should have our contractor give us a quote on replacing those floorboards that they could show to their contractor, but warned me we "weren't going to get a new kitchen out of this", which is not what we were asking. After my conversation with Noah, Peter the technician called us directly and now claimed that he did not cause the damage, that it was already there. Then he changed his story again and said he had told us that moving the fridge would damage the floor, which makes no sense. Any professional repair person would have put down a protector (as we do by using a rug before moving our fridge) and it would have been fine. Do not ever use this company.

Friends of ours recommended Mud Monkeys to us for basement waterproofing, so we called Darby Braun for a quote in late February. We knew immediately that our home would be in excellent hands. Darby spent a lot of time inspecting our property, discussing our concerns, and explaining his plan. He provided us with an estimate quickly, and added us to his crew's schedule for approximately May 8. Darby and his team arrived on May 8 as planned, and the crew headed by James accomplished more in their first day than we could imagine was possible. They were fast, worked incredibly hard, disturbed only as much ground as they absolutely needed to, and swept our property every single day. They treated our home with respect, were reliable, and answered our questions with a smile. They stacked our interlocking patio stones neatly in an unused corner of the yard, and even took the time to tie back and save a flowering shrub we thought would have to be sacrificed. The majority of the waterproofing was done on the exterior, but one wall was done on the inside and a sump pit installed. The work was completed in two weeks as promised, the final bill matched Darby's quote exactly, and their attention to detail was extraordinary. I can't imagine a more professional, friendly, or talented group of guys. If you need waterproofing done, this is the company you need to call.

Calvin came out to help us after a water main repair on our street caused debris to get lodged in our kitchen faucet. He gave us the helpful advice in future to ensure we run the water in the laundry sink first after the city shuts off the main. :) We also asked him about the food debris building up in our brand-new kitchen sinks, and he showed us how the inferior baskets were catching it, and the pipes were not sloped correctly either. Calvin installed our new faucet and drains, and we're extremely happy with his prompt arrival, helpfulness, professionalism, and knowledge. We have several more jobs coming up and will only be calling Hoerner.

Red Robin came out to evaluate some repairs required on our concrete front porch, rear steps, and brick, and provided us with both long-term and short-term plans for what we could do. They scheduled the work within a couple of weeks, showed up as promised, and did an excellent job grinding out some serious cracks and repairing them for us. We will definitely be calling them back when we are ready to do a full replacement.

I called Marty with a drain issue, and he was kind enough to explain to me over the phone very quickly how to resolve it myself - at no charge. He was personable, helpful, and absolutely correct about what the problem was. He was also correct that other plumbing companies I called were going to charge an evaluation fee, and could easily have told us an expensive repair was in order. I will be telling everyone I know about his company, and will call him again when we need to hire a professional.

We have an ancient space-pak unit that was not functioning very well. AccuServ came out to take a look, and made several adjustments and minor repairs to keep it going. We got some great advice, and we know who we'll be calling when we have to replace the system!

Maple scheduled our eaves and window cleaning quickly, arrived when promised, and did a very thorough job. Our downspouts were clogged and the guy carefully took them apart and made sure everything was in working order. Our windows have never looked better. We will definitely call them again!

Sherwin answered my call for help right away about a rogue groundhog living in my yard. He gave me helpful suggestions for options over the phone, and showed up as promised. His trap caught the animal within 3 hours, and he returned to pick him up for relocation. I feel relieved knowing the animal won't be hurt. Thanks for a job well done Sherwin!

I hired Mona's cleaning service as a gift for my mother, who has a large home that is a lot of work for an older person to manage. The expectations for both sides were clearly laid out in advance and there were no surprises. Indira is the cleaner who came to do the job, and she was friendly, punctual and efficient with her time, and did a very thorough job. My mom and I were both really impressed by her and would happily hire her again.

Our hot water tank blew a leak on a Sunday, and we called a couple of places for replacement options. The guy at Accuserv got back to us quickly (on a Sunday), spent a good deal of time on the phone discussing the pros and cons of getting the same unit vs tankless, and was able to schedule the removal/replacement really quickly. We were extremely happy with their work, their prices, and their professionalism, and have already recommended this company to some friends.

We could not be happier with this company's service and employees! We had Cohen & Master evaluate our tree a year ago, and they explained the process we would need to go through to have it removed and replaced (free consultation). The arborist returned to review our options for tree species, and then the company successfully dealt with all the City of Toronto red tape in trying to remove a very dead tree from the front yard. Their workmen who came to remove/replant were very professional and respectful of our property, and the arborist came by once more to follow up when the job was done. We would recommend this company to anyone!

Buyer beware! We purchased a fridge from the St Clair location. The salesman called to ensure the fridge was in stock before we purchased, and gave us a delivery date of July 4/15 in the morning. We received a call at dinner on July 3 to say the fridge was not actually in stock and they had no idea when it would arrive. We went to the store to cancel our order, since they only had one fridge our size and we needed to buy one ASAP from elsewhere, and they refused to cancel the order. Read the fine print - the bill says that they can delay delivery, and that if you want to cancel they will charge you 20%! The salesman who originally helped us was suddenly very unhelpful. I had to call the owner at the Markham location (Rameesh?) who was actually very nice, but didn't call back when promised. The store's phone line went to voice mail for a whole day, and the voice mail box was full. It was finally determined that the fridge would not be available until the middle of August, and I was able to demand a full refund - after a great deal of stress and time spent. If you read the fine print on your bill you would not buy anything from this store.

Eli came to our house to provide a quote and arrived within the promised time frame. Out of the several companies we contacted for estimates, Roofworks' quote was absolutely the most comprehensive, the most professional, and the easiest to understand. They also broke the project out into sections so we could elect to do some or all or the recommended work. They were not the lowest quote but they came highly recommended, and we are thrilled with our decision to use their services. Their workers were very respectful of our property, did an excellent job, and were helpful in answering any questions. Absolutely 10 stars.

There was both good and bad parts to our experience with this company. The owner Constantine did the estimate, which was thorough and reasonable. The young guys sent to do the work did a great job on the trees, however, they let heavy limbs fall and sever our Internet/cable line. The crew left without cleaning up the debris as agreed, and phone calls were not returned so we were very unhappy. However, another crew showed up several days later to clean up the yard, so in the end we were happy with the work. We just wish the communication had been better.

We contacted Pete based on his high Home Stars rating, and we were not disappointed. We had a washing machine that was no longer working, and a dryer that was improperly vented and creating a fire hazard. Pete showed up on time, and stayed through his dinner hour to finish the job. Our appliances work like new, he even went above and beyond to stabilize our washer, and his price was very reasonable. We will definitely be referring this company to our friends.
