Had problems with this company from beginning to end. Tried to be patient. One week job turned into three weeks. Lazy Susan in kitchen was broken and never fixed or replaced. When there were a few issues, the answer I got was "I did it for free for you". If you decide to employ them, make sure you have a DETAILED contract, and I mean detailed. Only wants reviews on Facebook...probably because he can delete the bad ones. Oh...wife wrote one review, so be careful...the others are probably cousins. Shoddy work.

I had a green slate kitchen floor that was over 25 years old. The grout was dirty and the tiles a mess. Ramiro removed all of the grout, scrubbed the tiles, replaced the grout and sealed the tile. It looks as new as can be! I am so excited to have a floor that I don't have to get on my knees to clean anymore! He was very patient helping me pick a grout colour and his attention to detail was outstanding. Will call him again to reseal my floor in a few years.

I cannot say enough about the excellent service I received from Nick. From day one, he always returned my calls/texts right away and when he said he would call, he did. Any competent HVAC technician can install an air conditioner, but Nick goes above and beyond where customer service is concerned. He is personable and caring. That being said, he is extremely knowledgeable about his products and how they function. I would highly recommend Nick.

We had a Wiarton stone porch and steps, which had basically fallen apart. Bradley did an amazing job at fixing all the areas and he was very polite and a delight to deal with. I finally feel safe walking up and down the steps again!

Dimitri took the time to help me figure out the colour of lock I needed and he arrived on time to replace the broken one. He made sure all was working well before he left and made me some extra keys, as well. I will call him for sure, if I need help again.

My dishwasher stopped working. I had called a few companies from Homestars. Bottom line, Modern Appliances was the only one that, despite having to wait a few days to get a service person here, was reliable. Peter was amazing; he knew what he was doing, ordered the part and came back to install it the day after he got it. I would for sure use Modern Appliance again for my repairs and in particular, Peter. Didn't hurt that he liked my dogs, too.

The only reason and am giving this company a 9 (I really would give them a 9.5) is because the dispatcher got the dates mixed up and we had to reschedule several times. We didn't have any emergencies, so that was not really an issue, but giving someone a 10 means perfection to me. That being said, the plumber Nick, was extremely apologetic and he called to reschedule and showed up on time. He tool longer than expected because he needed to go get some parts because some of the plumbing was old. He wanted to make sure everything was done perfectly. He was extremely friendly and patient when a problem arose. I have to get a part from the contractor who installed my shower faucet and he is going to come back and fix that issue at no cost. I will for sure use Nick when I have plumbing issues in the future and I will recommend him to my friends. Again, Homestars has not let me down.

I have used John's contractors for many years. He comes and prices the job and then he sub-contracts. The wonderful painter (Donna) that I used was excellent and paid total attention to detail. The last few jobs, Frank was the contractor. He did a good job and was very patient when I wanted to change a colour. However, you know a fantastic job from a good job when you find areas that aren't visible to the eye, but aren't painted (at the top of the bookshelf under the crown moulding.) I also had to point out some small areas that needed to painted with a Q-tip, which were left unpainted until I mentioned it. As well, I always think it is a good job to call a customer after the job is done to see if they are satisfied and John doesn't do this. I'm surprised at this, actually. All in all, a good job, but could be perfect.

I have had white California shutters for about 20 years and they had started to yellow. It was so hard to find someone who would repaint them. I'm so lucky to have found Canadian Superbilt. Eric came to the house at my convenience and the shutters were done in the time he had stated. He was punctual and professional. They look AMAZING! I have more shutters that will need repainting and I will use Canadian Superbilt again.

Marble Clinic came to reseal a very difficult to clean green slate floor that is the main walkway in a small bungalow. After the first time at the house, I really felt the results were not very visible. So I called back and a technician came again and used a tougher brush. It made a big difference. The thing that impressed me most was the fact that there were no questions asked when I was not satisfied the first time and the company wanted to make it right. THAT is excellent customer service.

I originally hired Steve because of the excellent reviews on Homestars. Steve came to the house to discuss the project on several occasions with no commitment because I wanted a perfect job. Steve helped me so much, as he really knows his business. His price was not the lowest, but I just knew that I would get a product I love, and I did. Steve and his crew were amazing to work with: professional and honest. I recommend starting to plan your project ahead of time, as it was quite a while from planning to fruition, but it was well worth the wait.

I dealt with Anthony and could he was a pleasure to deal with; no high pressure and very patient. He emailed me when the carpet went on sale and this actually helped me make up my mind because I was almost ready to buy a more expensive carpet. He did everything he could to make sure that I was happy with the product. No more Elte for me!

I bought awnings from this company years ago. Every year, I use them to put the awnings up and to take them down. Do NOT use this company if you appreciate service. You can call them 100 times and there is every excuse why they can't show up. Next week. Next week. When they finally do show up, they want to be paid right away. I hope I can find another company that is honest and reliable. If you're looking to purchase, I wouldn't recommend doing it here.
