We had our furnaces installed 11 years ago by one of the large companies in Toronto. Their proposed service contract was outrageously expensive, but we were lucky to find a very senior HVAC service guy with very reasonable rates. But then he retired! It was quite a struggle to find a company willing to do service work, almost everyone prefers to do installations. We wanted to stick to a small, owner-operated company with excellent reviews. Towards the end of winter one of our two furnaces gave out. The house was tolerable but not warm enough. Nick came over and diagnosed the problem - a blown motor on the furnace. Of course it had to be the most expensive part, on a furnace that was showing distressing signs of wear and tear, a year after the warranty was up. It wasn't worthwhile doing an expensive repair. We decided to replace the furnace.

Nick came up with two suggestions, both quite reasonably priced. It only took about a week or 10 days until he let us know that our new furnace had arrived - and that he had a cancellation, so could he come the next day? We were delighted.

We called Nick at Interior Climate Solutions to replace our aging furnace and A/C which were starting to fail. We found them through their stellar reviews on homestars and google and they completely lived up these expectations.

From the start Nick was clear and patient when walking us through our options. Another company we talked to jumped right to an equipment suggestion within a few minutes on the phone, which felt rushed considering they didn't gather much information about our house. Nick on the other hand took time to understand what we wanted to do and came up with a number of different options for us. We ultimately decided to go with a heat pump backed up by a high efficiency furnace, which would give us the environmental benefits we were after (low carbon emissions) with peace of mind for the coldest days of the year. With the government rebates for heat pumps this option would cost about the same as a straight upgrade of our existing furnace and A/C unit.

The job went as smoothly as you can hope for. As we expected from the clear communications with Nick when planning the job, he kept in constant contact in the days leading up to the job and answered all of our questions right away. Him and his team finished the job in about a day and a half, as we had planned for. They were friendly and respectful of our house all the way through, and left the basement clean when finished.

Our heat pump has been running for a week now and has been able to heat the house on its own, even when it went down to -10C one night. We're super happy with it so far and highly impressed the professional service that Nick and ICS provided. We will recommend them to all of our friends looking for HVAC work and they will definitely have more of our business in the future.

Nick has done a lot of work for us, dating back as early as 2016 right up until the present. Originally he installed our BBQ gas line back in 2016, then later he helped us when we renovated our rental property by installing 3 new ductless Air conditioners, two HRV's a new boiler. Most recently he added a gas fire pit to our backyard. Everything has been done to a high level of quality and in the rare occasion where he needed to rectify something, he was very responsive and corrected the issue without any additional expense.
