Called Yevhen based on the reviews here, as he seemed knowing his trade very well and being reasonable. He responded, quoted and came to service my washer which stopped agitating, super fast and identified the issue in a matter of minutes and thankfully needing a minor part replacement only, so in a matter of hours, my washer was fixed and up and running again thanks to his skills and quick response. I specially appreciated his obvious significant experience in troubleshooting the appliances, because the part he first suspected (the lid switch), was in fact the broken one, even though it was the cheapest one of those that could have caused this problem and even though it looked like it was still (kind of) working, he pointed out that it was falling due to overheating (he actually showed to me that the surface of the switch was starting to bulge because it was overheating and in fact it completely died in a matter of minutes while working on replacing it). So in short: very quick, knowledgeable and reasonable service from Yevhen.

Very happy with Tornado Plumbing work - I had a water leak on the ceiling and wall in 2 spots under my 2 upstairs bathrooms showing up around the same time. I chose Tornado Plumbing based on the reviews here and because they seemed as skilled, but also honest and reasonable company. Serhiy answered the call right away, gave me an approximate quote over the phone and confirmed the appointment time shortly. They came on time, did quick investigation, found the leaking spot and took care of it in just over an hour, even though it needed camera use to find it. And, even though I was almost convinced that the 2nd leak spot was from another bathroom, because it was right below it, he explained me how the water from the 1st one found the way there and most likely their fix took care of it, too. He said they could always come again if they were wrong, but his explanation really made sense and after few days I could see that he was right, because both leaks were gone. Given how easily this could have looked as 2 jobs (and 2x$$) and that even I felt that was needed and how someone else could have easily gone at least for additional investigation and billing me for it, I really appreciated Serhiy's honesty, but also the job done professionally and quickly. I will be definitely calling him again for my next waterproofing project.

After researching a number of countertop installers for our kitchen reno, Marble Treasure easily came up as a top choice, based on numerous positive reviews, but once we started working with Violetta, we felt even more that her company can do an excellent job. And they did a fantastic job and truly exceeded our expectations. Violetta was super pleasant to work with, very helpful in the process of us choosing the material and overall made this part of the kitchen project very smooth and enjoyable, but at the same time was very knowledgeable and informative about different options, and the rest of her team was very professional, skilled and with the attention to detail. She even recommended a floor tile store, where we eventually ended up buying the tiles which we are very happy with, too. We went with a beautiful Caesarstone quartz (Creme Brulee), because of its calm, but impressive and modern look and big advantage in terms of care and maintenance vs. granite and marble. In the process, we decided to also use it for the backsplash instead of the traditional tiles and that turned out to be a great choice, too. The whole process involving taking measurements and installation went extremely smooth and the quality of the installation was superb and done per schedule Violetta outlined at the beginning. We had a fairly large square footage to cover, but we could not believe how well the seam where the two pieces of stone meet, was done. The pieces were measured to perfection and ended up fitting as it was the simplest thing to do (I have seen other installers' results in the past and knew how bad this work could turn out, which is why we wanted to make sure this work was done by someone who can do it professionally and without surprises). Throughout the process, Violetta kept as fully informed about every detail and I have to notice that they did everything they said they would, exactly as they stated up front and in the process exceeding our expectations more than once. I have previously recommended contractors I was very happy with, but I have to say that Marble Treasure tops them all with their superb quality of work, competitive prices, excellent customer service and I would happily recommend them to anyone looking to install new countertop.

My garage floor had extensive cracks and as a result, the central portion of it sank more than 6 inches over time, so it needed a complete tear and replace. Hubert and Paul had great reviews on Homestars and provided a very competitive quote, but more importantly made sure I was assured the work would be done properly and without taking shortcuts. They were able to fit in the work in a matter of days and once they started, they were all done on the day 3 of work, as promised. They even needed to spend much more concrete than usual, but assured me there would be no additional cost because of it. They took extra care in preparing the surface prior to pouring the concrete, patched the suspicious spots in the foundation to be sure no water comes from outside, helped with removing large items from the garage, relayed the interlock tiles all around the garage walls to slope them away from the garage and filled in with the polymeric sand to keep water away from it and properly sloped the concrete slab. While doing this work, I also asked them for a quote on repairing a couple of wooden fence posts damaged by winds and they provided reasonable one, so I ended up doing that repair with them, too at the same time. That work was done very well , too (another person came for that work), the old posts and concrete bases were taken out, the wholes were dag out and new concrete was poured quickly and in about a day, the posts and fence were fixed and back like new. I was quite happy with the whole process, the timeliness, quality of work, cleanup of the site and how my concerns were handled throughout. Hubert made sure I was completely happy and he and Paul were quite fun to work with.

I reached out to several companies recommended here, when my A/C stopped working and got all kind of diagnostics and estimates over the phone, until I was referred to ThermalEdge by someone who did not service my area, but knew Maric. Maric came out to be very knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed the cause of the problem (control panel), assured me that was the only part needing replacement, ordered it immediately and installed it as soon as it arrived and even found a workaround so we could have some cooling in the house, while waiting for the part to arrive. He was very professional and pleasant to work with, the cost of the repair was reasonable and the A/C worked just as expected after the repair, without having to replace all kind of other parts on top of it, as others suggested. I would recommend (and have recommended) Maric and his company to anyone needing good quality, reliable and reasonable service with air conditioning units or furnace repairs.

Called Public Plumbing for an emergency to look after the clogged drain. Nick came very quickly and snaked through the clog routinely, but recommended to do camera inspection the following morning included in the price, to be sure everything is cleaned up properly. Mike came the next morning and did camera inspection and did additional cleaning until the drain pipes were completely clean all through till the street sewer main. He too was very professional and showed to me on the monitor the process and the outcome, so I am sure the work was done to my satisfaction. Throughout the dealing with any of the technicians or the office personnel, they were very professional, polite to deal with and went beyond the regular duty to make sure I felt important to them as a customer and that their record here is justified. Hired Weed Man for 1 season lawn care and weed treatment, offered through their door-to-door offer of excelent customer service and guaranteed weed removal (they said they would come as many times as it takes to get rid of them). After the initial treatment ended up being very erratic and left some large areas of grass burned (had to replace the sod completely later), but at the same time skipping completely some large (40cm tall) and easy to treat weeds. Repeated treatment was useless and repeated calls to address the problem were always met with customer service and even manager's promises that they will take care of it to our satisfaction, but then repeatedly doing nothing. At that time I also caught the "continuous service" clause in their contract, which was never brought up by the sales person to me, even though I specifically asked for only 1 season of treatment. So, I canceled the contract formally (they sent a partial refund, though not matching the number of applications performed by them) and asked them to neever come back and to never call us again to offer services. Sadly, they kept calling after that many times. Very dissapointing quality of work and service overall.

I used Betz Pools for the hot tub repairs and maintenance for a couple of years for things like fixing the leaks and miscellaneous parts replacement. The work done is solid and the pricing was reasonable. The thing that was very though with them though is scheduling the work and getting the technician on site - they seem to be very busy with some probably bigger (pools?) projects and rarely can provide the date when they can send someone to do the work needed. At one point I also wanted to look into the spa parts refresh (pump, control panel), but it was impossible to get the estimate from them, to the point that I had to give up on this.

Let me start saying, too bad I can't give this company rating higher than 10 out of 10, because they were that good. Our 24 yrs old alarm system basically died recently and needed repair or replacement and also adding some extra coverage (we wanted to secure additional 4 windows and add 2 motion sensors, extra wireless keyfobs, have ability to control the system from internet browser and handheld devices etc.). On top of that, we were already considering adding monitoring and wanted to choose the reputable company we could rely on with this task. I don't write lots of reviews and I rarely end up having my expectations exceeded, but I love to write one when someone does exceed them and Paul and Chris did just that: - from the very begining with the rough estimate over the phone, - visit to firm it up, - providing the formal quote, - revising it per my additional requests when comparing it with other companies' quotes I got in the process and once we knew better what we wanted, - handling though questions from me to narrow down professional installers from the ones who are more after just getting the money from you, - the actual installation scheduling and execution, - quality of work done and finally doing extra things to make sure their customer was completely satisfied. All these steps went smooth and in a very professional manner and Paul and his company left strong impression to us that we were dealing with the company who cares about their reputation as a trustworthy and reliable and their customers being comfortable with them. I never felt pressured into the deal, or that additional requests I had, were used to bump up the cost of the installation with Paul, but he was always available when I needed input from him and once it became clear to me that they were clear leading choice, he and his company moved swiftly, found the spot to fit our installation in and did it quickly and as planned. When the work started, we discovered additional items that weren't originally planned and quoted, or included in the free oper part of the quote, but with an old system, were needed (when my old hardwood floor was removed some time ago, the contractors pulled the wire and disconnected one of the patio door contacts, so new setup was needed) - Chris came up with couple of options, but wasn't happy until he found the way to put in the new contacts reusing the old wiring, so we don't need to spend extra for wireless contacts and in the way they would still be esthetically nice. On top of that, some of this additional work they ended up not charging me for and even found the way to save us even more money by not having to use some of the originally quoted components, once they realized on site that was possible! When they finished the work, I ended up paying less than originally planned (and less than what I was quoted elsewhere), but getting better system than I originally was thinking of going with and all the work was done with great care and quality, whith the whole process ending up being done lightning fast. And not to miss to mention that their monthly monitoring cost is less than most of other companies using the same monitoring company. I just don't have enough words to adequarly praise Skywire, Paul and Chris for the fantastic job done and would give the highest recommendation to anyone for Skywire Security.

Once again, I was so glad I went to Homestars for recommendations on good company for work needed at home. Reviews for 416-so-clean were pretty convincing and their website was great in understanding what to expect and what options to consider. I contacted Adel for several stain cleaning jobs as part of our planned and unplanned spring cleaning (2 yr new cream-colored carpet 'nicely decorated' by our 10 yr old son when he threw up in the middle of the night on the way to the bathroom, light colored sofa and dining room chairs heavily abused by all kinds of food, drinks crayons and other favorite kids 'weapons', an area rug and a mattress ). He sounded very honest (I do put accent on this) and professional and scheduled a visit in just a couple of days, which was a very nice start, given that sometimes, the contractors highly rated on this site, are hard to schedule soon, because of the demand. The appointment went perfect - Matt called in advance to see if he could even come a bit earlier and he did his work very professionally and explaining in advance what could be done. I liked that he was not pushy to get us to do as much work as possible and was setting expectations properly with what could or could not be done with some of the set stains. We still decided to go for all of the work we were hoping would at least fix some of the damage and be worth his time and our money and were glad we did so, because our expectations were practically exceeded. They even came again when we asked for retrying couple of thoughest and oldest spots we knew could not come out and he really did his best again, even though we had no expectations for those and we are more than happy with what all the items cleaned look like now. Another thing I liked was that at no time, they tried to suggest that they would appreciate good reviews here, which has happened to me in the past, even though I have not been impressed with the service at that time - Adel's team just did their work the best they could and they did fantastic job and probably thought that if we are really happy, we would probably let others know this or that way. Well, besides our friends, I really wanted to let everyone here know that overall experience with 416-So-Clean was simply fantastic and that I gladly recommend them for any carpet/upholstery cleaning work!

For 2nd floor carpet replacement, we were the repeat customers of Giant Carpet Markham store and were a bit hesitant initially because some of theie franchise's other stores had not-so-best reviews, but decided to ask them for the estimate given that we were very happy with the work they did previously for us. It turned out to be a good decision, especially after we met with John Michaels, the manager, who was very professional and knowledgeable but also very pleasant to work with and left us with the impression that they were going to do their best in doing high quality job and on time, given that timing was very important to us. Understanding our quality concerns after having some horrible experiences with big store home improvement contractors, he assured us his installers were going to do a fine job we will be happy with. How right, he has been! The guys that came to install the carpet were just amazing and did a fenomenal job in a record time and without even stopping for a break - they were virtually flying through the house, obviously doing the job with pleasure and pride and they were so glad when I noticed how superb job they have done with the 45 degree seam between 2 rooms which simply wasn't visible and which they told me they really wanted to do well! I have to mention also that John did his best to take care of the trouble that happened in between the order and installation where the manufacturer got hit by the strike, where he kept calling them to make sure they were going to deliver the carpet on time, which they did. Oh, and yes, he even threw in an ugraded underpad! Needless to say, we were extremely happy with the whole experience, excellent job done and just having had pleasure to work with professionals like them, which is not so easy to find these days.

We took time to research the contractors for putting the new hardwood floor on the main floor and feel it was really worth it. Among 3 companies we eventually decided from, Angelo and his company stood out being perfect in all of the aspects in the process leading to hiring a contractor, had great service, competitive price in their category, but most importantly made us the most comfortable that they were going to do top quality work, without any hidden surprises. They provided written estimate in advance, answered all questions and helped us choose beautiful Vintage Venetian Brown Jatoba, which we were wery happy with how it fit our taste and our house. Once hired, they followed up with the delivery and installation without any delays and finished work even sooner than planned, but more importantly the quality of work was excellent. Overall, it was a pleasant and satisfying experience and we were extremely pleased with their work and service.

He wasn't the easiest to reach, but came the afternoon he promised even though my problem was not too urgent and actually identified the problem while talking on the phone with me first time, even though I wasn't too convinced he knew exactly which type of shower I had. He was professional, curteous, quick and definitely knowlegeable about his job. He replaced damaged inner cartridges in the shower stall faucet I didn't even know were replaceable, immediately identified and fixed the cause of the low pressure in the shower, replaced and tightened up the toilet flange and even dug under the sink and tightened up the kitchen sink faucet when, almost on his way out, he accidentally realized that this one was loose and was letting water leak under it and the countertop! He left impression of an honest and trustworthy service, which matter to me the most and the price was reasonable, even though I didn't even ask him for an estimate before starting the work. I definitely felt that he wasn't just after quick money and that he believed in good and honest service being his best referrals. I would definitely recommend him to others and will definitely call him next time I need similar service. Way to go, Flavio :-)
