Black Forest Woodworking is run by Steven. Nothing is too much or too complicated for Steven. He took our computer drawings and built us a floor to ceiling, wall to wall entertainment unit with built in lights, 6 foot fireplace and TV. Without exaggeration, the quality and workmanship is perfect. It was constructed at Steven's shop, then brought up to our Condo in pieces where Steven and his co-worker (also Steve) installed it in about 2-3 days, including installation of the built-in lighting, the fireplace and the TV. Steve is fun to work with and offers options and ideas that made our little project so much better. The price was very fair and we got the best of the best from Black Forest. Can't recommend them enough!

Harry came within a day of us calling him. He gave us a price to strip and refinish a Chinese Chippendale dining room table and 6 chairs which we had used and re-finished several times in the 44 years since we bought it from the Art Shoppe. We gave him the colour and finish. He did one chair and we took it back to our home; but decided we wanted a different colour. He did one more chair in the new colour. We took it home and told Harry that it was just right. He asked us to return the chair so that he could do the entire set at the same time and using the same glaze finish. We then decided to re-upholster the chair seats. We gave the material to him and the end result is PERFECT. Notwithstanding all the changes we kept making, he charged us the original quoted cost plus $45/chair to re-stuff and re-uphoster the seats. Harry is highly recommended by us.

I called Kia. He showed up to give me an estimate. He and his apprentice came 2 days later and completed the job (and also installed a new kitchen outlet -- without cost or charge), cleaned up and kept to the estimate. Kia provides excellent service for a reasonable price. How can you ask more than that??

Boris came over within a day of request and gave us the best quote with a great guarantee. His installer did a very clean and neat job shortly thereafter. I recommend Cozy World without reservation.

I called Cozy World because my A/C and heating systems were old and acting up a touch and the reviews on this site were amazing . Boris showed up, carefully reviewed the units and asked if they were still working. I told him that they were but I thought that they required replacing because of their age.. Boris suggested that because of difficult access issues, I do nothing until something actually breaks and then gave me the name and number of a third party technician who would be able to add life to the system. I don't know of any other company who would be invited into my house and asked to do considerable work and refused on the basis that it would be less expensive to have someone else maintain the equipment. I offered him money for his time, trouble and help and he told me to give it to charity. The reviews on this site are very accurate. Boris is a very nice man with extraordinary high business ethics.

Les is on the sales side. He's responsive and knows his products very well. Helped us choose the right door and hardware. Installation turned into a problem. We had them try to correct a leak and it was only on the 3rd attempt that they sent an experienced installer who finally fixed the problem. Some issues with call backs for service; but once I learned to call Les for service, it was not a problem. Despite the foregoing, we are very pleased with the cost and the final outcome and would recommend them.

We had a roof leak. Received 3 quotes. Danny gave the lowest quote and had the highest rating on Homestars. They came when promised. Completed a full roof repair and did extra work they thought was necessary and still charged the original estimate. Clean-up and work seems perfect. Don't use anyone else. On top of it all Danny and Chuck are really nice guys.

Father and son operation. They estimated on the same day I called. The job called for a small railing to match existing railings. The result was exactly what we wanted and it was done on time and in accordance with the estimate. You could not ask for more than that, except that both father and son were delightful to deal with and we discovered we share the same ancestral home --Kiev.

I tried but couldn't get the bathroom sinks to drain properly. Valentin showed up within 2 hours of my call. Problem turned out to be bad original plumbing (our house is replete with bad plumbing). Not only did Valentin clear the drain; but he also broke through a wall hidden by bathroom cabinets and replaced the original plumbing to make future drain blockages easy to clean out. Valentin always wears bootees, always cleans up after himself and always stays within his quote. Use him. You won't ever complain.

Val was on time, efficient, very clean and offered good plumbing advice. I was given a quote for all 3 jobs. Price was exactly in accordance with quote. Total job took 2 1/2 hours (including fixing the washer, for which he did not charge for labour)and labour was about $275.00 which is maybe on the high side considering the total time he was at the house; however, I am completely satisfied and will use him again whenever I need a friendly plumber who arrives on time, does good work and stays within the quote.

Jason from Renaissance was full of great ideas at our first meeting. Painting the grout lines between our floor tiles was one suggestion we used. He also suggested and provided an electrician to illuminate the interior of our glass cupboards. Jason is enthusiastic about his job and loves to talk about colours and options. The finish to our Irpinia cabinets had suffered 12 years of cleaning and wiping and was in need of some renovation. We were concerned that the finish would not be the smooth finish of our existing wood. Jason said not to worry and apart from a couple of finishing issues (which were promptly rectified) the final finish was just about perfect. Jason is the the idea person, the salesman and the owner of Renaissance. He then assigns one of his painters to actually do the job. We were most fortunate to have Gemma and an assistant do the work. She is a perfectionist. Very little is overlooked and she quickly sees and rectifies any problems. We heartily recommend Renaissance Painters. Great work at a fair price.
