We were very disappointed with the carpet company that the insurance company called in to remedy water damage to our rec room carpet. We finally gave up on them when they refused to answer our calls asking them to start the restoration. I then called Mark who came promptly to assess the restoration and who quoted a firm price that was clear and reasonable. He dispatched Adam a few days later who was very knowledgeable, personable, and explained everything clearly and did an amazing job. We couldn't be happier with the excellent service from both Mark and Adam, and would call on them again in a heartbeat.

Tabitha at Ecorefinishers responded immediately to our initial enquiry and came to look at our kitchen cabinets and gave us a quote to do the complete refinishing. She was informative and helped us in our colour choices. They removed over 40 cupboard doors and drawer fronts plus another 8 panels, an appliance garage, under cabinet valance and kickboards to refinish in their factory. They also sprayed all the non removable surfaces of the cupboards and island on the same initial visit. About a week later they came back and remounted all the pieces that had been removed. They also supplied and installed new door handles and soft close hinges. They are good people to deal with and did an excellent job from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Dimitri was very responsive when first contacted and came within a day to review our kitchen. He gave us his recommendation for the under floor system and gave us a price. The job involved the removal of old ceramic tile, working around our existing cupboards and island and laying new 18 x 36 porcelain tile. They also removed and installed new backsplash tile. They were on the job when they said they would be and were very accommodating, were careful and cleaned up when finished. We are very satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them.

If you are looking for efficient and prompt service and help in choosing your countertops, it is worth checking out Rockstella. Their Dixie and Dundas showroom in Mississauga is not large and not fancy but Natalia was very helpful from our first visit and was prompt with her quotations with very competitive costs. The measurement visit was on time and efficient and as was the expert installation. We asked if they could do a couple of small extensions to accommodate our appliance garage which they were happy to do without any extra charge. They were also the only supplier that offered a beveled edge with the seam at the bevel corner which results in an invisible edge seam. Some of the competition did not seem to know how to do this and some of their displays showed obvious edge seams. All in all a great small company that delivers on price, service and excellent installation. We couldn’t be more pleased with our new countertops

Chris is personable, honest, prompt, reasonable and very capable. He came when he said he would, did the repair efficiently and charged me what he had quoted on the phone which was for labour and parts. I questioned if I owed him for the new cable parts but they were included. We couldn't be more pleased and we highly recommend him.

I Should Have Checked Home Stars First. If I had, I would never have chosen a junk removal company with a low score of 7.2. My experience choosing contractors has been very good and I have always chosen 9.0 plus. Their web site promised a pick up time, confirmation from driver, then a quote, then approval to haul away. They gave a time and I had a person at site for all morning. The driver didn't call, our man had to leave at noon and they didn't show until the afternoon. I estimated the load between 1 and 2 cu. yds. They charged for 4 cu. yds. and when I queried the cost and procedure by phone they said the website info was "not the way we operate" and if I wanted, they would dump the load back on the church property, and then hung up on me. They also operate under name of Fairlight Disposal.

Hello Graeme. I'm sorry you feel that way. As I explained in my emails to you, the driver knocked on the rear door of the church and there was no answer. The concrete pile was cordoned by caution tape so it was simple to determine what needed to be done. When you called our dispatch you instructed us to reverse all charges on your credit card even though the work was done. This is why the office called the church and let them know what your intentions were. They informed us that you had gotten paid in full so they were surprised that you would even suggest that. They added that they were pleased with the work and that they area was left tidy. The reason you were hung up on is because you started yelling at one of the dispatchers. This is not something we can tolerate. I'm sure you can appreciate that. I appreciate your feedback, nonetheless, and will take your comments into consideration to improve our service.

Our furnace failed during last winter and based on Home Stars rating and reviews, we called Richard in the morning who said he couldn't come immediately and referred me to another contractor who also was tied up. Richard then rearranged his schedule and arrived later the same day, determined the problem and showed me how to manually start the furnace to get by for a day or two. He discussed the options and quoted me on a new furnace and I asked him to proceed. He was back 2 days later and did an excellent installation and we have enjoyed the new furnace and the new features. Richard's price may not have been the cheapest, but he was professional, honest, very helpful in showing me how to get the old furnace started manually until a new one could be installed and even recommended another contractor to try to see if they could service us earlier. I highly recommend Richard and will use him again for any heating or air conditioning work.

Rick responded the same day that we called, was prompt and phoned when he was leaving to come, was courteous and diagnosed the problem quickly. He called to check stock for the needed part and gave us an estimate which was what we paid. Based on this experience, we would certainly use him again.

Mathew just left after cleaning our master BR and the lower hall/rec room, which had been cleaned by another company a week ago with very disappointing results. Mathew took the time to review the state of the carpets, recommend his approach and took care with his hoses and put down runners etc. When he asked us to review the finished work, we noted a slight shading in one area, which he immediately volunteered to redo. Great job with terrific customer servicve. Would highly recommend.

Brian's quoted and rebuilt our chimney from the roof up, which looked fine when finished, but within 18 months I noticed pieces of concrete on my roof which had come from the disintegrating cap. I placed 6 or 8 calls, left messages about the problem, and even tried from a friend's phone in case he was recognizing my number and deliberately avoiding my call for some remedial work. I never did get talking to him or even his office person and finally gave up and called another masonry contractor who repaired the cap. I would under no circumstances use them again nor recommend them to anyone.
