We worked with Anatoliy of Royal Work a couple times over the last year and a bit, and I've been doing the company a disservice by not submitting a review sooner. Mold was spotted in our basement, and we had it completely torn out. It sat like that, untouched for months until our son was born, and we decided we needed to bite the bullet on waterproofing to prevent any more mold coming in. Our search for the right company took a long time. We spoke to a significant number of contractors and waterproofing specialists, and the range of quotes was almost laughable. When Anatoliy came to give us a quote, he came with a portfolio of work and samples of materials that would be used. He was very thorough and skipped a lot of the BS that we had dealt with in other meetings. Normally, I'm not a fan of going with the lowest quote, but my wife and I both had the same gut feeling that Anatoliy was the guy. He did not let us down. His team arrived on time everyday and worked at a blistering pace. the job was finished on time and on budget. And as promised, the city came through with the refund for sump pump and back flow valve installation, cutting overall costs. We were very happy with the work, and the warranty. When it came time to refinish the basement, we needed to address the original plumbing under the slab. Again, we spoke to a number of plumbers, but ultimately the job went to Royal work. again, they delivered as promised, on time and on budget. Had we not moved out of Toronto, I would be using Royal Work for every possible job. Great group of people.

After moving into our new home in Stittsville, we were in love with the place. Except for the colours the previous owners chose for nearly every room. With a living room with ceilings higher than my comfort level on a ladder, we decided to call in the pros. Clayton responded almost immediately to our service request and came to the house for an in person quote. He was very thorough in explaining how he and Kelly work, with an accurate quote on both cost and time. A Cut Above was the only painting company that responded to our service request. Typically, I would keep looking until I had a few prices to go on, but our 1 year old son was a big fan of Clayton right away, and he's a good judge of character. And the number was less than what we were expecting, based on the Toronto prices we had become used to. When the job started, we were blown away by their progress after the first day. These guys have the steadiest hands I've ever seen. They work super quiet, and at the end of the day the house was cleaner than when they arrived. I could not recommend Clayton, Kelly and A Cut Above Painting enough. It was a pleasure working with them.

We had the misfortune of finding mold in our basement carpets over the holidays. We gave the Mold Guy a call and they had a team over the next day to give us a quote. They gave a detailed quote with 2 potential ways to proceed. Remove flooring only, or a floor to ceiling gut job. We chose option 2. They had a crew of guys, very professional. (Listen to great music,) over the next day to get going. It was pretty clear early on that the basement was built like a tank several times over and the 2 days they had quoted for would clearly not be enough to remove all the construction material. . Not their fault. Just bad luck on our end By lunch time on day three, I started to get nervous. it didn't look like the destruction phase would get done in time to clean things up. I couldn't afford to add another day to the job. This crew of guys (I honestly can't believe I forgot names. These dudes were great) worked all day and all night. I think it was 2am before they rolled out. Only to arrive the next morning to start the cleaning process. I brought in a third party Air tester to test the new clean air, and his results showed very minor remnants. Ross sent the crew back the next day to scrub everything down again and run the fogger for a few hours. Not a question was asked. They came and went and the follow up test passed with flying colours. I'm not sure why it took so long to write this review. But I would definitely recommend The Mold Guy. even though it's never the easiest decision to make when a company like this is required. Thanks again for your help guys!

Working with Tony was a pleasure. We called him in to check air quality after having our basement gutted as a result of mold. He ran tests upstairs and in the basement as well as outside as a control. Unfortunately the results came back negative on the first round. Which meant I had to bring in the original Mold removers to scrub things down again. Tony showed up after a couple weeks to allow things to settle and ran a second test. This time we got the results we wanted. Clean air. Tony was very thorough in his advice on keeping things dry and was very informative on multiple follow up calls. I honestly got to the point where calls with tony lasted longer than calls home to the wife, hahaha. Great guy. Knows his stuff through and through. Would absolutely recommend.

We had Art-Metal install a new front railing back in January. We booked the job in November, and with the holidays, they gave us an honest estimate. We decided to wait, hoping for a mild December. Worked out. The day finally came and a couple gentlemen arrived with our railing to install. They had one section up in a hurry. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication on the initial plan, and the uprights that would support out awning weren't built. I talked to Mariya and Yevgeniy over the phone about it, and they handled me very well. In the heat of the moment I lost my temper. And they were supremely professional throughout. The railing was thrown back in the truck and the next morning the same railing with uprights added arrived and was installed a second time. This time around, I had an issue with how the hand rail on the stairs met with the porch railing. Yevgeniy explained that it was built to code, but it just looked off to me, and I requested that they connect to the rails, even though it may not be 100% to code. Once again Art-Metal acted quick and delivered what I requested. They showed up while I was at work, made the change on site and had everything painted and cleaned up before I got home. Every project is bound to have a hiccup or two along the way. That's a given. It's how a company handles these hiccups that speaks volumes. I had a neighbour this morning ask who did our railing and I didn't even hesitate to give him all the contact details. I couldn't be more happy with the overall results. And I have and will continue to recommend Art-Metal. And I'll certainly be giving them a call when the back railing needs replacement. Thanks Mariya/Yevgeniy. You handled a difficult customer with professionalism, and won me over entirely. Very much appreciated.

I hesitated when I saw royal Work had a 10/10 overall rating. Surely no one can be perfect. Some of the reviews, admittedly, seemed like they were scripted. Mine won't be one of those reviews. My wife and I gave Anatoliy at Royal Work a call, along with 3 additional companies for a quote on an exterior waterproofing job. (We found mould and had to gut our basement in January.) Anatoliy was at our house the same day to inspect and give us a quote. He brought an extensive portfolio showing each step of the process. Immediately, we felt comfortable with Anatoliy, but wanted to hear what the competition had to say. Royal Work's quote came in tied for the cheapest, which is never really a good thing in my perspective. But between the documentation, the nice van, the professional attire, and Anatoliy's apparent honesty, we both felt like he should get the job. Fast forward 2 weeks. and we are 1 week shy of the due date for our first kid. Wondering if going ahead with a job this big makes sense financially, with so many variables, and reduced income. We decided to back out. Anatoliy, never showed us any signs of negativity, and was completely understanding. About a week after the kid was born, protective mode kicks in, and we decide to get the job done as soon as possible. Anatoliy came back to review the original quote and had a crew show up the next day. These guys were seriously impressive. they had 40+ feet of the back and side of the house dug up, parged, sealed and backfilled by 5pm. It was incredible. The entire job took 7 days. 6 as quoted plus 1 to resolve an issue with roots interfering with a drain pipe in the front yard. These dudes are fast, clean and quite. (manual dig) Anatoliy handled the installation of a sump pump and a back water valve in the basement himself, and made sure to arrange for city inspectors before pouring concrete to finish the job. After the job was done, we felt great. It's such a huge piece of mind. I noticed I was missing a shovel. Texted to ask about it, asking if he could check. It had found its way into the truck, and had been broken by the time I realized it was missing. Anatoliy showed up with a brand new shovel to replace it. That's killer. He also checked some dampness on the floor in our cold cellar. (long concrete cure times, i'm paranoid). He was very straight forward and went above an beyond even after the job was done. Could not recommend these guys enough.
