Realistically, anyone looking for blinds can read the title and discern from that. Not much more you can ask for, but Michael was pleasant and tried his best to accommodate for our fast turnaround request. So far so good, the blinds are a much-needed improvement over the garbage bags (literally) we had taped up prior. Thanks very much!

Getting up there in age, and ever-rounder around the waist, it was time to finally shell out for some help with our move this time around. With all of the horror stories I read about terrible movers who are careless, abrasive, dishonest, cutthroat or all-of-the-above, I took a leap of faith in contacting Philip to quote for our move, and boy am I glad we did. After a quick virtual assessment prior, he and his team deftly moved all of our precious junk between homes with time to spare. He even offered to reduce our charge because we didn't occupy the entire quoted time, but when a job is done that well, paying the quoted amount is definitely justified. All of this, done with a great sense of levity, and a bonus McDonalds smoothie. These are the movers you want.

Ed and his team went far above and beyond to ensure that we not only got the product and service requested, but was also an advocate for our rights as consumers - He actively fought with his suppliers to keep the pricing and timelines as promised. He also took note that we had a months-old baby in tow, so he went out of his way to make the process as painless, clean, and unintrusive as possible. The install team were in and out in one day. Can't ask for more than true peace of mind.

After quoting from a few cabinet companies, we settled on DV kitchens for a few reasons. Most of the HomeStars highly-rated places wouldn't even bother to look at our project as it's apparently "too small and troublesome". DV kitchens weren't the cheapest, nor most expensive, but exhibited the most amount of care and passion for what they do. They're up-front about why things cost the way they do, and were quite transparent about things like timelines or the brand of hardware they use. Why I didn't give a full 10/10 in this review sort of stems from the fact that they're very busy. Things sometimes get missed, communications sometimes fall off to the side, and there is sometimes a bit of miscommunication in the back office which can require some gentle following up. Daniel, the owner, patiently answered our questions and expertly translated the design we had in mind, into reality. The installer came on time and was very diligent (barely ever took a break, I don't think he even ate the entire day), working well past 10PM on the last day. All in all, we're very happy with the end result and plan on contacting Daniel again to see about getting some soft close hinges for our existing cabinets!

I'll preface the review by first stating that the experience hasn't been a complete 10-star for a few reasons: * The rolling "zebra blinds" that we ordered didn't necessarily fit the greatest and some had to almost get forced into place, while a few of the others needed to be sent back to the factory to get the length corrected * On the wider "zebra blinds", the bottom is weighed down with a metal bar that noticeably bows. This does not affect functionality but aesthetics aren't that great. * One of the pull cords have snapped with relatively gentle adult-only use With the negatives out of the way, which largely aren't their fault, our experience and interactions with Ameer and Ramona have been very positive. They took the time to answer all of our questions and patiently provided all sorts of options to work within our aesthetic preferences and budgetary restrictions. While they weren't the cheapest of the quoted vendors, they inspired the most confidence, which was something we were willing to pay a bit more for. Some of the others struck us as fly-by-night companies, so "get what you pay for" applies here.

This review is long overdue, so my apologies first. Long story short, we went into the storefront (unsuspecting little place in an older plaza) based on previous HomeStars reviews and were blown away by their willingness to work within our budget and offer up some much needed colour advice. The installation team was quick, clean, and efficient. They made sure to answer all of our questions. Thanks!
