Heard loud gnawing in our main floor ceiling and immediately thought we had a rat infestation. The "good news" was that its "only" mice. Prompt professional service, thorough scan of house interior and exterior, very well informed and articulate service person, no more problems approximately three weeks after setting eight traps in my 2700 sq. ft. Beaches semi. Recommend The Exterminators.

My three-story semi is located on a ravine slope and ladder placement is a real challenge, especially for top floor access. Patrick and his crew got right up there and had the exterior job done in no time, in spite of some extra gunk the installers had left on some new windows. They did a fabulous job on the inside too, quickly, thoroughly and respecting my possessions. I chose them because the other two firms gave me quotes based on the Google street view picture of my house, but Patrick actually came, counted and assessed the actual windows. His estimate was dead on and the others I am sure would have been haggling for more based on the large number of windows on the back of my house. I will recommend Magic Monkey to my friends and family and will use them again.

Tanya's offers great products not available anywhere else, plus the welcome and service that you get in the store is truly exceptional. I ordered a mirrored bathroom cabinet online and opted to pick it up at Tanya's shop. Super glad I did, not only because I got to meet a lot of caring people but also because I found another perfect mirror on the wall and bought it on the spot. Finally, my reno is complete, thanks to Tanya's. Highly recommend them!

Water was pouring through our old eavestroughing and flooding our neighbour's yard with sand. North Shore's Darren And Nick did a fabulous job replacing them, installing leaf guards, and routing the down spouts away from problem areas, no easy feat in our tiny Beaches yard. Laura's estimate was dead on and it was always very pleasant to talk to her about pricing, scheduling, etc. very professional firm, all around and I will be referring them to friends.

To explain a little detail about this project, we had the misfortune of a ladder blowing over with a wind gust (before we could get it tied off) and it cracked a skylight on Dana's roof. We were able to get a new skylight installed and the eavestroughs done before end of day. Thanks for the understanding Dana and we are happy in the end you felt we deserved a full score!!! Darren

I am not sure why I get four hits, all with the same address, when I type "McKinnon Heating" in the search box. I hope it is because the company name is tricky. My Coleman furnace was installed in 2009 and is under warranty. The original installers failed to respond to my desperate phone calls for service when it failed to ignite in Oct. of 2012 so I called Mckinnon, a Coleman dealer and a name I recognized from the long term former location in my neighbourhood. They responded immediately and Mr. Gray, a great guy, determined that the gas valve was sticking and needed replacement. Of course, he didn't have the replacement gas valve on his truck, meaning that we had to wait an extra day and pay for another service call for heat. But it was worth the wait, since the installation was fast, Dennis was super careful in assembling and reassembling the furnace, and we had heat. I paid for the labour only on this and was impressed that Mckinnon checked in advance about my warranty status and showed up with the replacement part at no cost to me. No headaches and heat on. Thanks!

Vic-Mar replaced our old furnace with a new Coleman furnace and installed central air condition on the system in Nov. 2009. The air conditioning unit, although tested by VicMar, never worked and after multiple calls, our tenants were forced to call another contractor who determined that the unit was defective and was able to have the whole thing replaced under warranty. As for the furnace, a defective gas valve prevented us from turning it on this year (Oct. 2012) and we discovered that the ignition has always been defective, since the unit no longer makes the racket it has always made when the gas valve opens. We tried contacting VicMar to address the problem, but could not reach them and had to call another contractor about the gas valve. We are not impressed with two pieces of defective equipment nor with the customer service VicMar provides. The one thing they did to our continuing satisfaction was to rereoute the duct work to provide better heat in two of our upstairs bedrooms.

Todd and Jenn showed up promptly at the scheduled time and got right to work taking down a Siberian elm that started out as a weed from a neighbour's hedge and grew to a very tall tree far too quickly. Todd moves with skill and agility and made certain that all safety measures were observed and that none of the debris hit the ground in any but a controlled way. Since the tree was right up against my house and the attached neighbour's, I was really worried about damage to the properties and the dividing fence, but needn't have been. They had the tree completely down in minutes and the debris cleared within the hour. They actually made the whole process look like fun. They have my highest vote for great service!

I had to arrange for carpet cleaning from afar as my home is currently tenanted. Adel was truly exceptional in responding to my inquiry, giving me an estimate immediately and coordinating a service schedule with the tenants. My tenants have very high standards for cleanliness and they were very happy with the results. This was one of the most pleasant and satisfying experiences I have ever had getting something done in my home. Great company!

A recent car accident made it impossible for me to help my husband move some possessions to a storage unit. I rented a van but forgot to book with Rent-a-Son. In a panic, I phoned Stephanie in the office at 8:30 am the day of my move and she managed to find a "son" willing to show up at 11:00 am. Everything went so smoothly, I can't say enough good things about this company and its employees.

This company started out in the US as a sunroom manufacturer and has extended its technology to windows and doors. Their product is pricey but we are so impressed with the energy savings we have realized and the increased comfort and beauty of our home that we will recommend this company very highly. Service has generally been responsive, the installers were fabulous - quick, clean, and friendly, and the financing option is attractive, with a 1 year no-payment option. We did have to wait an additional 6 weeks for our doors due to problems with the US manufacturer but they were worth the wait. To their credit, the company contacted us numerous times with updates and apologies, and when the doors finally did arrive, they sent their workmen right away to complete the work before a previously planned business trip. Overall, this has been one of our best reno experiences.
