We had our yard work done by another company for a few years. Songbird came to our house and gave me an estimate. I decided to give them a try. They sent 3 people to do our yard. Raking the old grass, did the aeration and edging plus fertilizing. We are quite happy with their work. Would recommend them to anyone.

This company called us wanting our business. They offered us a very good price for 4 applications so we accepted. They have just done the first application 2 days ago. Couldn't tell the results until end of summer. Seems they did a good job so far.

We usually asked someone to do the spring cleaning of our front and back yard. The company who did that for us before was too busy to service us. One day we found a flyer in the mail box called LabourNeighbour. We phoned the number 780-722-4731 and a guy named Matthew McLennan answered the call. I asked him to do the raking, aeration and edging for us. He came with another guy and did an excellent job to our yard. I would recommend him to anyone.

Our fridge is not cooling and the freezer side is melting. We look up the yellow page and get a few quotes for the repair. Ended up calling Dial-an-Appliance Man. The gentleman showed up within an hour. I asked was it because of the compressor. He took a quick look and said it's the fan. So he replaced the fan, helped me vacuum the bottom of the fridge and left in less than 45 minutes. He charged very cheap too and gave senior's discount. I am very impressed.

I have my front and backyard fertilized by another company for a number of years. This year (2012) Nutrilawn called us for a promotion and we decided to give them a chance. On the first application, two very courteous gentlemen showed up and explained to me about the condition of our lawn and then applied the fertilizers. They have since applied the second application and there will be two more before the fall. Our yard looks really good and we are very happy with them. Would recommend to anyone who wants to have nice looking yard.

Our old water tank was leaking and had to be replaced. We searched in the Internet and found Action Furnace. On June 4, 2012, 2 gentlemen came and replaced our old water tank in 1 hour and 10 minutes. They did all the clean up and removed the old tank without even 1 drop of rusty water on the carpet. They charged me $719 + GST. Several years ago, I paid over $900 for another tank. I was very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone.

We contracted Homes by Managen to build our house. We found their design to be innovative and aesthetically pleasing, and built our home from modified plans of one of their previous builds. We worked with Paul Kehler and his staff and this was our first experience with a builder. Building a home is not without headaches - we had issues with using their painting contractor, heating contractor (see our other review), but from our research and networking, working with any builder in the city can be a challenge. Managen is at the top of the pack in our eyes, and if we were to build again, we would go with them because of their unique designs. We have had numerous compliments on our home and are very pleased with the quality of their custom home design. We would recommended Managen for their innovative design - a Managen home will stand out for all the right reasons in the neighbourhood.

All Weather Windows installed all the windows in our house, including 2 patio doors, skylights, and floor to ceiling windows. We purchased casement double pane windows. A testament to their amazing customer service was when, after a year, a bay window in the kitchen cracked for no apparent reason. Although it was out of warranty, All Weather Windows were willing to replace the window without cost to us. We really appreciate their service; highly recommended for good quality products and great to work with.

Dyand Mechanical completed the entire heating and duct work for our whole house. They installed 2 furnaces. Initially, the heat didn't go evenly into all the rooms, but after they adjusted the air flow, that solved the problem. They responded quickly to fix the issue and completed their work right away. Upon moving into the house, the only issue we had was with the heating system, so we give them 4 stars for overall satisfaction. Dyand Mechanical was recommended by our builder and we would recommend them as well.

Artistic Stairs installed the continuous railings in our house from the basement to the second floor. We had wood spindles and curved landings. We are very happy with the craftsmanship and quality of work. We especially like the railing on the curved landing. Each spindle was placed precisely and it looks very impressive. All the pieces of wood join seamlessly throughout the railing. Artistic Stairs was recommended by our builder and we have no regrets. We strongly recommend them. The total amount for their work was on the pricey side, but overall they did an excellent job.

Absolute horror story working with Dane Electrical - very bad product (NuTone) and customer service. We had a NuTone intercom system installed by Dane, which never worked from day one. Dane tried several times to repair the devices after the initial install, but they were never fixed. Dane blamed the manufacturer and the speakers, but the manufacturer didn't do anything to help. We even paid extra to upgrade the main unit to a newer unit, thinking that will solve the problem, but still the entire house intercom system does not work. Dane kept blaming our home as a "new build" which causes static over the intercom, so we had to pay extra to put in surge protectors, and this obviously did not help. Currently the entire system still does not work. Would not recommend Dane Electrical or NuTone devices.

Went to Kamena to frame an art print with a frame purchased at a different retailer. The staff member at Kamena was very helpful and patient when we were picking the matte, but the first one they offered was a custom matte - much more expensive than we were quoted on the phone. After we clarified this, we opted to use a matte that they had already in stock, which was significantly cheaper. They framed the art right away as we waited and it turned out ok - slightly off-center (by 2 mm) and not absolutely square, but for $20, can't expect much more. We are satisfied with the cost of the matte and timeliness of the service, but will not return for any future projects.

We have been using Green Drop for lawn maintenance for many years. We get the 4 application lawn care package which includes fertilizing. Overall we are satisfied with the service, and the price is reasonable, but there are many other factors that affect the lawn that Green Drop cannot control. For example, our lawn grew wild mushrooms, but Green Drop said that was our of their jurisdiction and was caused by dampness. However, we were dandelion-free so the lawn looked lush and green. Would recommend them to others - just note that they do not announce when they do the applications, so if you will be out of town, contact them to see when they will arrive because you will have to water your lawn after the application (they will stick a little flag on your lawn after the application).

We upgraded 20-year old furnaces for 2 new Carrier high-efficiency furnaces. A crew of 3 workers from Elite installed the furnaces in one day (approx. 9am-6pm). The installation was fairly intensive, they put in new venting and piping as well as the furnace units themselves and the thermostat. The staff were very nice, courteous and professional. We did encounter lots of problems initially with the thermostat - it stopped working out of the blue on several occasions, which turns off the furnaces - but Elite came to fix it promptly each time. The furnaces needed adjustments, which took several iterations. This was frustrating for the family because we were without heat during the winter. Contacting Elite over the weekend on their "24-hour" line didn't give adequate response time - we called them once on Saturday and only heard back on Monday. However, after their 4th visit to fix the furnaces, we got their cellphone numbers and the furnaces have been working well since. With the government rebates and Carrier rebates, upgrading our furnaces was a good deal.
