No plumbers were sent. Most of the work quoted "could not be done" and the work done created 2 floods in the kitchen. What could be done, the apprentice refused to do. So $966 later, all of the serious problems have had no work. Left me in a real mess with work not done. NOT HAPPY!

Work contracted was to provide steel siding to a dormer and steel roof over the whole of my house and dormer. I know from my own experience as an independent contractor that he could not be making much money on this job with 4 guys for almost 2 weeks. At no time were there any corners cut or stinting on labor. The job was finished to perfection. Plum was a little tardy starting my job but his reasons gave me comfort! He had to attend to concerns of a prior client & there were a LOT of rain days! What this told me was that when I was paid up I would not be forgotten. Conscientious and proud workmanship was apparent from start to finish. Siding, roofing or framing you could not find a company more modestly priced or that gives better service. I HIGHLY recommend PLUMM with Mark & his crew.

After some years on a "Silver Plan", I needed a repair that should have been no more than $660 . It was at that point I was told $660 only covers 2 hours of labor ($330/Hr!!) After 2 hours it goes down to $150/hr. So, average price for an annual cleaning is $150-$175 while I was paying $297.24 via monthly plan payments. When they told me my repair would be charged at $330 for the first 2 hours and $150 there after. I called and cancelled my contract on the basis of a breach of trust. These contracts are not worth beans!

Called Twice: Work done to perfection & fast: Diagnostics, refurbished radiator valve, replaced missing wire, cleaned burner/heat exchanger, numerous other minor tweaks. Brought a dead furnace back to life. It would need replacing sooner than later but Eric bought us some time. We lost him somehow and really wish he had not stopped returning our calls. We wanted to give him the new installation!

The thermostat that came with the installation could never be made to work. They charged me for a new one AND TOOK the one that came with the system for their own use. That one had cost $99. so in effect the new one REALLY cost me $245.90 AND STILL it failed. A third thermostat was purchased from them and they almost walked away with the second one also. I said, "Excuse me, that's mine! It was handed back. The third one also failed, I paid a new contractor to come and see what was wrong. It was the exterior sensor that was making trouble. SO: I paid for 3 thermostats and nothing wrong with any of them. I did keep telling them I thought it might have to do with the sensor and Ideal was adamant that was not and could not be the case. It was. The new guy removing a wire fixed all of the problems! They may get something right from time to time but I have not seen it. KEEP THEM AWAY FROM HEATING SYSTEMS!! Plumbing ONLY, maybe. I am so angry with these guys I could spit! Mark runs the show and needs to stop talking and start caring.

The proprietor and does not supervise his crew. May last, a boiler was to be installed. They started by putting a 4" hole in the wrong basement wall and put the nearest window out of commission. After the installation was said to be done, it failed on day one. They almost left me with it for lack of an "error message" but one showed up has he was ready to leave, trash caught in a valve. He replaced the valve but did not clear any line. Just told me it could happen again any time. They failed to flush the system with the product that the manufacturer said MUST be used. (They told me flushing was optional but not doing it "May invalidate the warranty" according to the manufacturer. It took weeks to get the system correctly installed and only got proper hot water after sending pics to the head office. They promptly pointed out a misplaced valve and the installer asked me, "So where do they want it?" What?! I am supposed to tell him how to do his job? Some time later I was reading over the invoice and found no charge for the water conditioner. I phoned and found they had not used any, they then put the conditioner in. Here I am the first cold weather and both heat and hot water are failing to perform properly. I can not get the heat over 62-63F and the hot water cuts out the second an other faucet is touched. To try and get the heat up I bled the rads and found solid flecks of junk in the bleed off. (Lack of flushing? None of this was as advertised! This has been the installation from HE !!

NOTHING!
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Get excellent references and a minimum of three quotes. Then cross your fingers and pray.
