Product

Worst customer experience ordered online and they could not send in credit card called customer service 5 times on hold over an 1.5 hours they were uncooperative, told me it was the credit card company stopping the order called the credit card company they said no order was processed or even sent in from the brick. Contacted the brick they said hold for a minute and they will go check got hung up on waited an hour called back got the supervisor on the phone who could not give me a straight answer why the had issues processing or getting back to the client. Asked to speak to her manager and she refused to transfer me. Cancelled my order will never go back. Have been a long time customer over 15 k spent at their store and all lost by one terrible transaction.

Couch & Chair

If you can avoid this store, please do at all costs. We went in the second week of November to purchase a couch and chair. We had been having a lot of trouble finding a couch I found comfortable. Luckily (or so we thought) that day we found a couch there that I really liked. We also found a chair that we really liked, with customizable options. So we made our purchase, and were told that the couch would arrive on November 15th (the following week), and the chair, being custom made, would arrive much later, on December 18th. We were okay with this. However, November 15th rolled around, and we didn't receive a call saying our couch was in. The next day we called to ask if it was there for pick up, we were told that our salesman had screwed up and accidentally put both pieces of furniture into the computer to arrive for December 18th. We told them that was unacceptable, and to fix it. We were told they would call us back the next day. We didn't receive a call the next day, and called them a half our before closing time, when we were told that the customer service worker had fixed it in the computer and it would arrive November 29th. Fine, we could deal with that. However, today (November 29th) we still didn't receive a call saying the couch was in, so we called after work around 5:30 and were told that it was still slated, in the computer, to arrive December 18th. We were extremely unhappy and were told that the customer service worker would figure out what was going on and call us back. Again, a half hour before close, we had to call them back as we were not phoned as promised. We were told that they don't know where our couch is, and that there are five in Winnipeg, purchased after we purchased ours, but were on hold for other customers so there was no way we could have one of those. We were told that our couch, although showing as in stock online, was still being BUILT and that there is no way we will receive it before December 18th. We were offered nothing but a refund, which we would have gladly taken had it not been so difficult to find a couch that I found comfortable. Extremely unhappy, poor customer service, and it seems that since they are commission-based, all that matters is the sale. We will follow through with this order, but never again will we step foot in this store.

Larger Desk

Instructions were not inside the box. I was told that they can only mail them to me, days later on follow-up I was told that they could not provide instructions on how to assemble the desk. This was after talking with many employees, so I decided to assemble the desk without instructions (many days later). In the end, I have a desk with a right hand configuration instead of a left hand configuration. I am glad that was all we purchased - and went elsewhere for the rest.

GE Profile Tall Tub Dishwaher

The PureClean Wash System uses multiple filtration levels to ensure dried foods and sauces REMAIN on dishware. I hand wash 3-4 dishes after the PURECLEAN wash system dries the green onion or bran flake onto the bowl. Do not recommend this DISHWASHER

Service and Delivery

My husband and I own a rental property in which we are obligated to provide certain amenities to our tenants. When our washer and dryer needed to be replaced we searched around quite a bit. We found a nice set at The Brick in the East end of Regina, which happened to be on sale. When we asked when it would arrive in store we were told 4 days later. We are from out of town and arranged to come and pick the set up a week later, giving them an extra 3 days to come in. When we arrived, we were told they ordered the wrong set and they would be in a week later. A week later we came back into town and alas... still not washer and dryer. On the 3rd time we spoke with customer service who assured us it would be in the next week. When it wasn't in 4 weeks later we returned to customer service and asked to speak with the manager. The manager actually told us he didn't care and could care less if we returned to the store!!! When we finally mentioned that we had tenants who were unhappy with the fact that we had not provided them with the amenities promised they explained how their system works. The told us that they only order in a certain amount each month and you get bumped for the person who ordered ahead of you. Fair enough, but make your customers aware of such a thing! When we mentioned this to them, they told us that we wouldn't have bought from them, which is why they don't tell people this! I think that is unsatisfactory! We got a phone call on the Thursday notifying us our arrival was ready for pick up.... IN CALGARY! When we mentioned we were supposed to be picking it up from Regina Saskatchewan we were told it would arrive on Tuesday. Thankfully it did and we finally got our purchase in a week and a half after telling them we had tenants who we were providing for. I couldn't believe that not even an apology was given!

Bed set, Sofa and Love sit

I got a bed set, Sofa and Love sit from Dufferin(North York) branch today. This store is awesome, very organized and well designed. The girl who helped us in the purchase, Isabella, was very nice, friendly and helpful. She helped us to get a better deal. I will definitely go to this branch again.

First and last time I will ever buy something from The Brick

This is a LONG story so I'm going to sum it up as quickly as possible. My wife and I are moving and are in need of a fridge, sofa, kitchen table and a tv stand. Everything came damaged (including the inside of my door and a wall from my apartment) thanks to the wonderful delivery team. Called the Brick, had them return everything and thought I'd give them a 2nd chance. Well, guess what? Everything came either damaged AGAIN or wasn't working (fridge didn't cool). Sofa had a tear/rip in the back section and front plus the assembly team never called to come and put together my kitchen table. We are in the process of return the whole crappy stuff and are shopping elsewhere. My wife wanted to give up after the first try but I decided to give them another shot. BIG MISTAKE.

This has caused us so much stress because we have to move in less than 2 weeks and now we have to start the whole process over again at another furniture store. STAY AWAY FOLKS!!! At first I just thought we had bad luck but now after giving them a 2nd chance I know it's not that. The only nice thing I can say about this company is that the salespeople were friendly and not pushy and the girls I spoke with over the phone in customer service were doing their best to help resolve the issue. That's about it. This has been a HORRIBLE ordeal and I will never shop there ever again.

If there was a -5 score I'd pick that one...sadly it doesn't go lower than a zero rating.

Sofa and Coffee Table

I bought a sofa and coffee table from the Brick 2 years ago.

The coffee table was terrible; I have assembled lots of furniture over the years but this one would not go together well at all. It was extremely wobbly when done and was destroyed by the first person who leaned on it.

After two years with the couch a) the fabric has already torn in one spot, and b) the middle has very little support and sags badly. There is just one person of normal weight in the house.

You can bet I would never buy anything from The Brick again - the quality is awful!

3D tv and home theatre system

My husband and I purchased a 55in Toshiba 3D TV, and Samsung 3Dbluray player on Dec 23 2012 from the Brick in Winnipeg. From the start we could not get this system to work properly. 2 days after purchase we contacted our sales rep, who spent 20 minutes on the phone with us to see where we went wrong hooking everything up. No luck. It was suggested that our satalite receiver was defective, We had Shaw send us a new receiver. Still had the same problem. Called The Brick back, and was informed that we could pay 150.00 for a technician to come out and hook everything up for us. We went online to Toshiba's web site, tried their tech support, no help. Finally called The Brick back again, They are willing to drop half the service charge to send someone out to hook everything up for us. Very poor customer service!! We will NEVER purchase another product from them. The end result is that there is probably something wrong with the TV, but guess what? They no longer carry the model we purchased!! So, we get to pay 200 dollars more to get one in a different brand comparable to the one we had.

Aggressive salespeople

It is impossible to browse alone and at peace at the Brick. There is always a salesperson tagging along beside you, even when you say you are just browsing. It would be helpful if they at least had adequate knowledge about the products they are trying to sell but they do not at all. Last year, I purchased a dining room set from them, based on the fact that the salesperson told me that it was solid wood. However, I found out too late that it was actually wood veneer, not solid wood. They are also clueless about kitchen appliances. When asked why one fridge was more expensive compared to another similar-looking fridge of the same brand, a salesperson told me that it was because the more expensive one was more energy efficient. Turns out that actually the cheaper one was more energy efficient...
