Alexanian Carpet & Flooring

We were replacing 6 yr old flooring in office and found a 99% match at Alexanian. Work was done very efficiently and without mess. Also replaced master bdrm carpeting with the same excellent results.

My wife and I were very pleased with the service that we received from Kaz, the salesman at Alexanian's. He was knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions and help us with our carpet purchase. We did not feel rushed or pressured at all.
The two installers Cezar and Gaston did an excellent job, and were very obliging, polite, and hard working. They did not hesitate to help us move furniture. They moved all the heavy stuff. They arrived earlier than their start time and were very tidy and organized with their work.

We had purchased flooring elsewhere, but, after 7 weeks of waiting for what was supposed to be a two week delivery time, we had had enough when the sales person told us on the day we were supposed to get our wood that he had no idea when our floor would come in ! Our entire kitchen renovation was being held hostage by the flooring delay as everything was ready to go except this one key item - we had already lined up the installation of the flooring/cabinets/counters and appliance delivery based on the date we had been told to expect our floors.
A friend recommended I call Garo at Alexanian's Upper James, Hamilton. After I explained the situation, he wanted to act quickly to help us. As I was without a car that day, he drove to my house in Dundas to bring me back to the showroom with my cupboard and paint samples to look at what flooring could match. We found three samples that were close to my budget. We ordered right away and he even orchestrated next day delivery from his supplier in Toronto!!! This was amazing!!! It means our kitchen would not be delayed further!
I highly recommend the exceptional service that Garo provides - he has been with the company for 30 years and knows how to get things done in a flash when the heat is on. Thank you so much!

Someone at Alexanian was a little to quick on the trigger to process final payment using the credit card provided to leave a deposit! A little unprofessional. They should wait until the job is done AND THEN confirm the method of payment should the customer choose differently. Presumptuous. What happened to business etiquette? It caused a hiccup that cost me in the end. I hope this was an exception and not 'business as usual'.

On a positive note, this was the only company I setup a consultation with that bothered to show up (box stores..sheesh!) They were well prepared and very punctual! It takes a couple weeks for materials to arrive but they met my needs just in time. Installation took a whole day and they worked diligently. Yes, it was a little expensive for a small space but I got what I paid for and am pleased with the final product. Note** Laminate floor samples don't necessarily reflect the final look as they are approx 7"x 10" with no veining or detail at all. I didn't like the look of it at first but it grew on me.

We recently had vinyl plank flooring installed in the basement. We had been looking around but decided to deal with Alexanian largely because of Tony Gulbay at the Dundas street location. After speaking with Tony, I was sold on him. I was very impressed by his product knowledge and his "no pressure" sales approach. Tony came to the house to take the measurements and check the current floor. He then arranged for the installation and we could not be happier with the job done by Jay Aydogan and Burak Seymen. The finished floor looks amazing!
Thanks to the excellent service we received from Tony and Jay, we will definitely recommend Alexanian to friends and family. We will also be back to see Tony when we replace the kitchen floor in the near future.

I used their store in Mississauga (the one on Dundas St. East) to buy some carpeting (broadloom that was cut down and bound into an area rug), and later to install some vinyl flooring with a skid-proof nosing. For the carpet, a very pleasant gentleman Suresh helped me, and gave good advice about colour to match my upholstery. He later also advised me about other matters (e.g. how best to protect some newly installed floor tile, although I had not bought the tile from their store). I can’t speak to their pricing, as that was not my primary concern, but their carpet selection seemed good. Another salesperson Tony went out of his way to help me choose the right vinyl for my basement stairs, even dropping by my house to show me samples, and although there were some delays and glitches in the installation, he was pleasant and helpful. The installer Jay was also friendly and professional, and did a good job when some tricky cutting and fitting was required. Finally, I used their cleaning service to clean upholstery in my house, and again the young man they sent was cheerful and did a good job.

Having just had a major renovation done on my house, with many bad experiences with contractors and movers, it was nice to have a positive experience for a change!

Amazing quality and service from Garry "Garro' Magakian (Store manager) and his team at Upper James Alexanian's in Hamilton. It was literally one of the best experiences throughout my recent home renovation process when dealing with multiple retailers and contractors.

We've known Garro for years now and have used him and his team for a few projects and consultations. My most recent project required a complete carpet install of my upper level and stair case. Garro came out to our house and personally measured the job up. During the order time, I ran in to a snag with the renovation that required a delay for the carpet install for several weeks. Garro was great. He received the carpet and held it for me while I got things sorted out. Once I was ready, he worked to get his installers in ASAP to help shorten the delay that I initiated.

The installers were amazing. Neil and his partner clearly showed their experience as not only professional carpet installers, but as great guys to have in your home and help you through the process. Great bunch of guys.

The overall product and install was great. It's been a few weeks now and I still stop and stare at the rooms and admire the quality and workmanship that went in to this project.

I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend not only Alexanian's products for their quality and durability, but the amazing customer service that Garro and his crew provided.

Ordered carpet for three rooms. Dissatisfied with initial installation because (i) carpet was wavy in one room, (ii) not cut straight in a closet, and (iii) tack heads up at all transition points. Installer said there was nothing they could do. Called office to discuss. Installer came back and was within 20 minutes able to correct waviness and tack heads. However, carpet being not cut straight still not resolved despite having lots of extra carpet. Previous carpet cut perfectly straight. No explanation for why this can't be done properly or done properly.

Bad service and expensive. I called several times after placing an order but the salesperson never return my call.

This store is also the most expensive place to get hardwood. I suggest you find other place to buy hardwood unless you want to pay 25% more.

We are very happy with the service and fitting of our beautiful hardwood floors. Thanks to Val for his advice and to the fitters for a superb job done. Reasonable pricing for good quality. We will continue to use Alexanian for further home renos.
