This is the second time I hired Foam It for an insulation job. I was so impressed with the quality of their first job that I didnt hesitate to call them for this bigger job. The job involved spray foaming the exterior walls of my new 2nd storey addition and adding blow in insulation to the attic. Once again, Foam It provided the best quote around for this job, they immediately understood the scale and complexity of the job and provided excellent suggestions for energy efficiency. The insulation team were punctual, fast and efficient and cleaned up the work site afterwards. Im delighted with the finished product and I will continue to use Foam It for all my insulation needs in the future.

I hired Final Finish Drywall and Painting Services to drywall, paint, floor and trim my new 2nd storey addition after reading all the positive reviews here on Home Stars. From the moment we first met Mark and Ceara, we were impressed by their professionalism and attention to detail. They took the time to understand our vision for the project and ensured that every aspect of their work aligned perfectly with our expectations and budget. I encountered multiple delays throughout the building of the addition - including unforeseen issues with my building contractors and a family emergency that required my immediate attention. Despite these challenges, Mark and Ceara continued to accomodate us while delivering excellent results on time. In summary, we highly recommend Final Finish DAPS. I am beyond satisfied with the results, and will definitely call on them for any future projects.

I recently did a 2nd floor addition to my bungalow. The original finish was red brick. I decided to go with stucco for the 2nd storey and keep the brick finish on the main floor. StarTech took on the job and I was immediately impressed by their careful site preparation, design input and care with regards to keeping my neighbours happy (scaffolding was required close to my neighbours property). They worked whenever they could to get the job done fast - at one point coming in over the long-weekend as they were delayed due to bad weather. The end result is both professional and beautiful - I couldn't be more pleased. I would highly recommend StarTech Stucco

I reached out to a number of countertop companies when I was renovating my kitchen. ASD responded fastest of all the companies I contacted and performed the measurement and quote all within one week. They have a large selection of beautiful quartz countertops which only made the selection process harder. However, with the help of Cheryl (sales manager with ASD) I was able to select a beautiful marble style quartz slab which was installed about 2 weeks later. ASD provided me with a counter for the kitchen wall cabinets as well as the Island. However, at the suggestion of Cheryl, I also opted to extend the countertop up the kitchen wall to act as a backslash. This worked out to be less expensive than having a tiled backsplash. This really completes the look and has the added benefit not having any grout lines. If I ever need another countertop - I'll be going back to Artist Stone Design. I couldn't be happy with my counters!

I'm renovating the entire main floor of my 1940s bungalow, which, until now, had no insulation to speak of. I demoed right back to the brick and decided that interior spray-foam insulation made the most sense. Foam It were the first insulation company to respond to query and a consultant arrived the very next day to give me a quote which I found very reasonable. I am absolutely delighted with the final result - the installers did a very thorough job with no mess left over and no odour whatsoever. I found Foam It be highly professional, patient (I had to reschedule installation 3 times due to scheduling conflicts with other work) and happy to answer questions. I would highly recommend them if you are considering spray-foam insulation.

I’m installing a new stairs to my basement. Annoyingly, it will run right alongside an existing basement window. I contacted Self Build in order to see if they could block up the window for me. Despite having a busy schedule, they managed to fit me in within two days of initial contact. The job only took about 2 hours. Not only did they block up the wall, they straightened the brickwork arch that was originally over the window so that it wouldn’t be obvious that there was ever a window there. They were fast, efficient and clean. I would highly recommend these guys and I will definitely use them again for future projects.

I started renovating the basement of my 1940s bungalow recently. This was an ambitious project involving tearing up the old wonky concrete floor, replace the aging grey water plumbing, installing insulation and in-floor heating pipes in the floor, installing new steel columns to replace the old brick ones and pouring a new concrete floor. I had all the demo work done and had started replacing the old clay sewer piping with the help of a plumber friend. Unfortunately, my friend fell ill and was unable to complete the project. So after a quick look online, I found CanadaWaterProofers and after a quick phone call I was introduced to Carl who came out the next day. Carl was confident that the plumbing could be finished in less than a day, but also offered to quote for the remaining work I had left to do as this was something that his team could provide. Carl offered some excellent advice in terms of water-proofing, structural integrity and condensation avoidance. The CanadaWaterProofers team arrived literally the next day to start work. They finished the plumbing, installed a backflow valve on the sewer line, waterproofed the interior of the basement, added internal weeping tile and a sump-pump, poured new footings for the steel columns and stairs, poured gravel in as the base of the concrete, installed insulation into the floor and poured the new concrete floor. All in all, it was about 5 days of work (exactly as promised). The workers were friendly, kept me well informed of progress and consulted me any time there was a problem or a decision was required. The work is now complete, signed off by the building inspector and I have the in-floor heating operational. Having a level basement floor was a huge milestone for me and it looks fantastic. I was very impressed by the skill and professionalism of CanadaWaterProofers and I would highly recommend them to anybody seeking to carry out this kind of work.
