We were buying our house, and in the process learned that the previous owner had made a home improvement that might have violated code and boundary lines. Our lawyer recommended we have a surveyor come to make sure we knew exactly where the land boundary lines were--the issue was literally down to the difference between a foot or two. The closing had already been delayed by a month because of the seller's mistake, and when we called Whitman they were quick and got us the information we needed.

We have bought everything from baskets to coffee supplies to kitchen items at this little store. At first, the store seems more like a gift shop with a wide variety of coffee, but as you look you see a lot of kitchen items and small household items that are perfect for wedding and housewarming gifts.

We needed to replace the flooring in our basement family room after a washing machine failure that led to a flood. We hadn't planned to go to Home Depot, but happened to be nearby with an hour to kill. We were shocked to find laminate on sale for $.79 per square foot. It was the right color and definitely the right price! We bought every box and a sales associate helped us find one more box--it was exactly enough to complete the project. We didn't get any help loading, and finding the associate was hard.

Now that we've moved within 40 minutes of IKEA, we spend way too much time there. From beds to our recent dresser purchase (2 dressers and a dresser-end table), we find so much there that is useful. The store is well-designed and about as "plug n play" as you can get. Free babysitting for an hour in their drop-off center for kids is outstanding as well!

We went to Jordan's Furniture to buy a bed. They have an entire "sleep center," and the sales clerks wear white lab coats like doctors. Our clerk asked us what we were looking for, explained the different types of bedding, and my wife and I decided to get two completely different beds (1 for each of us!) to meet our different sleeping needs. The clerk was able to help us find the right beds and a tempurpedic pillow, and explained 0% financing (which we accepted). Delivery was scheduled for 3 days later, and we received two automated calls the day before delivery. The delivery drivers actually came during the window of time when we were told they would (when does THAT ever happen?) and they were quick, careful with our carpet, and set everything up nicely. We could not have had a better bed-shopping experience.

I needed to buy bedding for my kids' bedroom, and went to Wilson's Department Store to see what they might have. The after-Christmas sales were in full force, and I found high-quality flannel bed sheets in the color I wanted. The sales clerks were helpful but not pushy, and the store was well laid out and spacious. Selection was excellent.

The afternoon before our house sale closing, we realized we couldn't remove our broken kitchen faucet--we just didn't have the proper tools to do so, or the strength to remove the restraining nuts on the faucet. In desperation we called W.S. Pickering and explained the problem--and that our house sale was taking place the next morning! The person on the phone scheduled a service call for 8:30am the next day, and on time Alan called and appeared at 8:30am. The faucet removal was a bit harder than expected but he did it, replaced the faucet with the proper part, and was done in 45 minutes--plenty of time to spare for our closing! Alan was friendly and courteous, and I would highly recommend this company for anyone's plumbing needs.

Stillman Farms is well-known in the Lunenburg/Leominster area--between their dairy farm and milk sales, and their garden stand, they really populate Lancaster Road. We shop at Stillman's Greenhouse for vegetable plants for the garden, and the selection is great. They offer a lot of advice on which sorts of vegetables to grow in which areas (shade, sun, clay soil, etc.) and have a wide variety to choose from. Parking is a bit tough, but only on busy days.

We purchased oil from Jamie Oil at the recommendation of our landlord. We applied for service via fax, and I faxed my application to the company three days before we moved in to our home. We were never told by the office staff that--for some reason--our fax wasn't received. When we called for oil (the tank was on E) we were told we didn't have an approved application on file. However, we were able to drive there immediately, fill out all the relevant paperwork, and a field technician was sent *immediately* to our house. He filled the oil tank and came inside to make sure our furnace was running properly. Excellent service, and we look forward to working with this company.

I went in to Robinsons Ace Hardware and easily found the electrical adapters I was looking for. The selection was extensive, and the sales clerks were knowledgeable. The electrical adapters were for a FIOS (fiber optic internet service) installation project, and the technician was waiting at my house, so I was pleased that the trip to Robinsons Ace Hardware was smooth so that I could go home quickly and the installation could be completed.

Airport Furniture is located conveniently near the small-craft airport; their selection is wider than we expected, and the service people were respectful, helpful, and not at all pushy. We were able to find a dresser in our price range, and would recommend Airport Furniture to friends and family.
