Our furnace was replaced last winter by James and his crew, who did an outstanding job. Then 8 months later our 20 year old a/c was not cooling properly so I texted James who immediately wrote me back on things to check myself. When these checks did not end up working we knew the a/c was toast and not worth fixing. James set me up with a 13 seer Rheem unit that has worked flawlessly the entire summer. Matt and other crew did another great job on installing the unit, having to relocate it because it was larger than our old unit. Always neat and tidy. Thanks again James

I previously had a load bearing wall removed by Bert in 2015 and knew the excellent work he did for that job at a good price. So I was a bit hesitant contacting him for a smaller job, but to my surprise he was happy to come have a look and quoted me a fair price. Bert was able to fit me in with his other work within the week. Not only did he do a great job putting in the venting for my gas range (on an interior wall), he came in under budget! Bert's experience in the business is what sets him apart, doing huge jobs in six figure amounts, but you wouldn't know it when he walks in your door. Honest and humble gentleman who wants even small jobs done right. We will continue to use Bert and his team for as long as he's in business!

Unfortunately I paid for lawn care service with this company and they fail in most categories. Product - the weed control product they use is OK at best, but has not removed the crabgrass and clover in my front and backyards. Did not notice much improvement (or a "greener" grass) with the fertilizer they use. Service - I found they were always a few weeks late in coming from the get go, not arriving until May for first fertilizer and weeding. They also refused to enter my backyard once due to a few "poop" left from my dog. Give me a break! Bad service overall Service - very poor. 1) Fertilizer application had burned two sections of grass that I had to repair with sod/grass seed at my own cost. They overapplied or otherwise were careless with the applications on more than one occasion. 2) They refused to service my back grass on one occasion due to their being a few droppings of my dog's poop on the gravel run at the side of my house. I received a nice note telling me to "clean up poop". This was mildly offensive as I would have assumed they could have easily walked around it and otherwise consider minor things like this as part of assigned duties while working in residential lawn care. They did come back the next week, but this is very poor service in my opinion. 3) Late or non-service - they seem to be chronically "behind" the schedule for applications. I just called to find out that my fall fertilizer, overseeding and aeration will be done in "a couple of weeks". Today is Oct 14 and fall started over 3 weeks ago. Overseeding the lawn should be done in September, certainly not the end of October as any germination will now not likely survive the winter. Also, company advertises "season-long weed control" - last time their were here was August 8 (Oct 14 today), so they have not visited for over 2 months. Sure, I could have called to remind them but I'm busy and should not have to, so was good thing I do my own weed control (and overseeded myself)... So what am I paying for? Will not use this company next year.

We had James and his crew at Natural Choice install a new furnace and hot water tank. I had a few other quotes provided by some of the "big guys" in Durham region but it came down to trusting who could do the best job at a reasonable price. James instills that confidence in knowing the depths of all the products he offers, best installation method for your house, as well as knowing what the customer wants and providing the best all-around customer service. All of my questions and potential concerns were responded to same day (usually less than an hour), more quickly than any other contractor I've worked with - he has built a company that puts others to shame and I'm very glad we chose to use his company to do the install. The install crew (Matt and another fellow) worked all day to complete the install - one minor deficiency was resolved immediately the following morning (Saturday). Therefore you know this team puts whole effort and have extreme pride in the work they do for the customer. A++++ Thanks again - and I do love the Ecobee thermostat they installed (good recommendation James).

Bert and his crew did an excellent job in removing the load bearing wall between our kitchen and family room. After having two other contractors in to quote and spec the job, Bert came in to provide a quote within a day of calling him after he was the only person on Homestars I could find with load bearin wall removal experience (more than 1 at least). His "can-do" attitude along with confirming a permit would be required for him to complete work inspired the utmost confidence - a necessity when removing a structural wall in your house! We had to wait a month or so before he was able to complete the work due to other project he had ongoing, but we did not mind when we knew we had Bert to do this specialized work. Over the course of 3 mornings Bert completed the work to our utmost satisfaction - we're now looking forward to having our island installed and painting. His crew were always on time, polite, and did an amazing job at keeping an extremely messy job as clean as possible. Finally, Bert was true to his word on pricing and the amount he told me upfront was the amount I paid for the entire job. Others who quoted the job were less qualified and higher priced. Needless to say, you should not hesitate to contact Bert for any of your renovation needs.

Assisted Review

We hired Tom again as he did a great job with my brothers home and was very detailed. This was part of the PDI process for our condo unit in Toronto. As expected Tom found things that our builder representative didn't. Tom was curtious, professional and did exactly what we expected. Thanks again Tom for doing a great job and saving us time by identifying the issues before we move in next month! Karen & Dave
