With much to do around our house, I feel fortunate to have contacted Burl-Oak Landscaping. Lou'ay has helped us to develop a long term plan for projects that include a new front walk and steps, back deck, driveway and lighting. The front walk was completed in two days and is a handsome addition to the yard. The crew was efficient, friendly and helpful in answering questions that I had about the process and materials used. We look forward to working with Burl-Oak again. After replacing the walk, we really only have one problem. Our younger children are enamoured with the Bobcat and want Santa to bring one!

We had Louay and his team install a weeping tile, landscape the backyard and pour a concrete pad for a large garden shed. Over all the project was a success. Louay was very helpful and made some great suggestions and communicated fully throughout the project. Beautiful work on the interlock walkway and armour stone. However the shed deck was not properly leveled and therefore caused some consternation when building the shed.

Our patio work was done very nicely in May this year and at a very reasonable price. The craftsmanship was neat and they completed the entire work in two days. They were very professional in their work and went out of their way to ensure neighbor's property remains was not affected while they worked.

My wife and I are enjoying our patio. The work is well done. Some aspects of the customer service experience could be better. Their prices are reasonable and seem to be fair.

We had our back patio, side walkway and driveway done by Lou'ay and Ziad's team. They were able to complete the project within their timeline and within the agreed costs. Some minor details were forgotten but corrected promptly and in a professional manner. Their team is courteous and polite and respected our property. At our request Ziad agreed to come back to add a step to our side after deciding the slope was a bit too steep. Overall, a very well done and beautiful project that we are continuing to love today. We would recommend Lou'ay and Ziad to everybody.

Burl Oak build for us the large patio (1200sf) and the walk way on one side of the house. We are happy with the overall company performance. It could have been better. Some details were forgotten and had to be redone. They of course repaired it on time. We would recommend them. They do what they say they are going to do. It appears Lou’ay strives to give the client exactly what they are picturing in their heads. They will return in one year to seal the stones of the patio. We are very happy with the job they did. It came out just as we had pictured it. They are the real deal !

We initially put this review out after the project is done but we have to make a change as the lack of workmanship shows after 2 years.

We had our driveway lift and relay as it is uneven. However after less than 2 years, we start to see that the places where it was uneven start to show again and it got worse this year. Tried to call the owner before but no response.

This can tell us that they didn't do the job right and the excavation wasn't done properly. They didn't excavate enough to provide a solid base and thus what was uneven before begins to show again. It seems like we have wasted our money and we are really disappointed.

Taking the time to read reviews on Homestars has really paid off for me as I have found some really great contractors. Another one I can now add to my list of stellar contractors is Lou'ay and his team from Burl-Oak. I found them by a total fluke as it was the one and only time I have ever taken a moment to flip through flyers that land in my mailbox. I noticed their ad in a local advertising leaflet and decided to look them up on Homestars. These guys had endless great reviews so I decided to get them out for a quote.

Upon meeting Lou'ay I was really impressed with his professionalism. After I agreed to his very fair quote (which was properly laid out, detailed and signed by him) we proceeded to the contract with all the terms laid out that were not only for his protection but mine.

Now on to his work. WOW! I have to say I am a gal who is very hard to please but I was awe struck with how fantastic our driveway (Courtstone by Unilock-which has a cobble stone look) looked when he finished and the attention to detail paid to re-sodding our lawn (which I must say looks as perfect as a golf course!!) that was previously a heap of weeds. I was also so impressed with how Lou'ay and his team buckled down and tackled a very unexpected 4 foot deep curb that needed to get removed. Though this unexpected obstacle was a surprise for everyone, Lou'ay and his team soldiered on to painfully remove it and never turned around and made me feel bad about it nor did he slap on any extra fees. He totally stayed true to his quote. As an added extra he also surprised me by resetting my existing flag stone walk path that he said he would do at no extra charge. As for the flagstone path, I thought it looked fine the way it was originally but was shocked at the difference it made by him resetting it properly. It truly looks beautiful and like a new path altogether. He also installed my outdoor lamp post at no extra charge.

One added note I would like to say about Lou'ay in particular is that he was not only really professional but truly a gentleman and very patient with my never ending worries. I can drive anyone a bit nuts with my micromanaging but he really took it in stride and took all my concerns and suggestion seriously. This was truly appreciated.

I would seriously recommend Lou'ay and his team anyone who wants professional and hard working contractors who take pride in their work.

Burl-oak did a great job, we had interlock patio, with landscaping in our back yard, we removed the grass in our front yard and replaced with the same stone, also on our porch. we have since had them back, they totally stand behind thier product. i would recomend them. Professional and honest people. i would use them again for sure.

I began to contact Lou'ay in October of 2012, originally I was going to have the project done before Christmas but due to personal reason the project was postponed. Then Lou'ay follow up towards the end of November 2012 but I wasn't able to respond to him until January 2013. He was the only guy who follows up after several quotations.

I had compared the interlocking and stamped concrete but I decided to go with interlocking. The project is about 780 Sqft and I choose Hydr'eau pave with new permeable pavement systems. It allows better water drainage and required no polymeric sand to hold the pave together. This means less maintenance and no grass will be growing in between the gaps. However, the sealing part will need to be done in the following year as this type of interlocking system require time to settle but not too worry, this is included in the cost. So I'll see you again next year Lou'ay.

My AC condenser was installed on the bracket beside of my house and it was in the way for an excavator to get into my backyard. Lou'ay helped me by introduce an AC and furnace service technician – Ante, he helped me dismounted the unit and reinstalled it after the job (This is another story, if you need certified AC and furnace technician ask Ante. Fair price but awesome service).

Lou'ay shows up few days later than the schedule date due to the weather. He planned to complete the job in a week and a half but he had done it in less than 4 days with 6 crew members. During the installation he used my old curb to make a retaining wall for my backyard flower bed plus replanted my bushes and trees without extra cost! The whole process was a wonderful experience and all crew members are very nice and they all work hard to their tasks. I will definitely refer you to my friend and hope you can help them to complete their project.
