Magic Windows

Terrible customer service, Leor yelled and screamed at me on the phone threating the customer. Order place in April Install was asked for End of Sept. Paint color changed in early Sept based on the sales rep saying we could do so with no delays. We actually asked for two additional Windows and was told yes and and the tech came twice to measure then end of Sept we were told they cannot do those windows so that was last we heard from them. Then Nov 13 I cancelled the order as we heard nothing then I was contacted by Leor and was abused on the phone and was told they were keeping my deposit. Terrible customer service.

Where are the doors?

We ordered our patio doors (2 sets) in March of 2021. It’s August and we’re still waiting. We keep asking when we can expect delivery, but communication from the company is either vague or non-existent.

Because our project involves a renovation, we are relying on having the doors in order to complete the scope of work. We can’t keep delaying our contractor. As a work around, we thought we could get exact dimensions in order to install the finished flooring. That has been a problem too.

Bottom line: Magic is slow and unreliable

pressure tactics to sign a contract and impatient to wait for my response less than 24 hours later

I do not recommend Magic Windows. I feel let down by the process that I was put through. I feel disappointed by the tactics used to try and make me sign a contract for more money when I was not ready to sign.

When making the appointment I explained that some of our windows were obstructed and we did not want to excavate. I was promised that an expert project manager would come out and "they've seen it all". Magic windows would tell us our options. After the first meeting with The project manager, we were under the impression that our project was viable without excavation, if the wood in our window frames was damaged/rotted, the installers would replace it as part of the quote. Also I made it clear that I needed any final decisions to be cleared by myself before making changes. The installer took inaccurate measurements. Then they were trying to charge us more for a Brick to brick install. Which we thought was already happening as our home is 60+ years old. Why would you reuse that ancient wood. Project Manager's answer was, well with the 40 year warranty, they'll just come out and fix it. Our retort, why not replace it the first time and not have to worry about it? The same project manager was there as she and my husband took measurements again and she was confused about how inaccurate the first measurements were. Project Manager sent the last quote in the evening. Which I did not see until I was on break during a 14 hour work shift. It included having my husband excavate a new window well area. I needed to go over this with him and see a timeline and also discuss our finances. Project Manager called twice during the day and left a voicemail stating that they wanted to send out a new installer to take accurate measurements but WOULD NOT until I signed the new and significantly larger quote. Since I was at work I thought, I'll just worry about this when I get home late tonight or fully read it tomorrow morning. Surprise, an installer shows up at my home and is turned away because I was not there and we needed to discuss the new information. The next email was from Magic Windows Innovations returning my paid deposit and one from Project Manager .Not everyone works 9-5 as I reminded Project Manager
and she reminded me that she stopped by on a holiday monday. When i booked the monday, I didn't realize it was a holiday, if It was such an issue, why would she take the appointment that day. I found that Magic Windows made changes without my permission, by cancelling the contract, they were in such a rush to book this project when we had no time to discuss the new excavation timeline or the new costs in the latest quote. We had been prepared to add a window wall in the back of our home in the future with Magic Windows and recommend them. Now we won't.
I observed that many of the lower rating reviews have been removed, I wish I had noticed that before contacting Magic Windows. Long story short, I do Not recommend Magic Windows and we are Very Happy with another Toronto company.

New Windows and doors

We got new windows and doors put in by magic windows. They were the worst; the sales rep came in and spoke to us and took measurements and said everything will be ready in 4 to 6 weeks; and told us it would cost $16,600; after a couple of weeks we got a meeting with him where he informed us that we would be charged $19,900 (His excuse was that he forgot to add the tax; but the paper he gave us initially had the taxes included). We waited for almost 8 weeks and then finally after calling them for days and days they decided to come in and put the new windows. After they installed the new windows and doors; we started experiencing lots of difficulties. First their so called privacy blinds are not that great; they kept jamming and causing too much problem. Then the door they installed was crooked and when we informed them of it their technician came in and said he would get it fixed (it’s been 4 months and we are still waiting for them to fix the door). Because of the crookedness in the door; cold air comes inside, we tried explaining this many times to their project manager and he would not agree. Cold air travels to hot air, not vice versa; also our patio door seems have swollen because of the water leaking into it from outside. We have called their technician more than 4 times to our house to fix this problem and nothing seems to change. The number of gas units used for heating the house has increased since getting the new doors and windows. Overall, magic windows have the worst customer service; I have called plenty of times to have their receptionist yell at me; my wife also tried explaining the situation to the receptionist who kept ignoring my wife and telling her that our demands were ridiculous. They have not yet fixed any of the problems and we have called them multiple times and left multiple emails but they simply just do not reply. They have the worst customer service as well as their responsibility towards their customers is just until you pay them. Once they have got your money they do not seem to care about you or their faulty installation. Our final question just is that HOW CAN WE GET THIS FIXED?
