I had Mandarin Heating and Cooling install a Keeprite Air Conditioner unit on my new home in July 2014. The job was very good, very clean, and very well priced. Brian and his crew were done pretty quickly considering all the questions and requests I made during the install :) He was always polite and always addressed my concerns.

Overall I was extremely impressed. My brother-in-law found Brian’s ad online and contracted him to do my in-law’s house some years back, he did such a good job he ended up doing a bunch of houses on their street. Everyone wanted Brian.

When I first called him he came right away for a free quote. Most places/contractors were taking days just to get back to me. July was high season for AC work. When I called him back he was quick to schedule me in for the installation. I needed the AC right away and Brian delivered.

Brian’s the best. He always answers the phone and is very knowledgeable. During the install I must have asked him 100 questions and he answered them all. It was a new home so there were a lot of new things for me with my HVAC system, plus I threw in some other general questions I always wanted to ask an HVAC professional. No problem for Brian.

I recently called him again to ask about “winterizing” the AC. I’m getting conflicting advice from friends/family. He picked up right away, we talked for few minutes and he answered all my questions. Then I remembered I should write him a nice review here on Homestars. If you’re shopping around you must call Brian at Mandarin Heating and Cooling. Just give him a call and get a quote (I hope he put his number somewhere on this webpage). You can usually find his ad on Kijiji. The Kijiji ad has his pricing and the units he installs. Check the list, he will install most brand names but I think he gets better pricing on certain brands (like keeprite). I wanted a Keeprite AC.

Its winter now so people must be looking into furnaces again. When Brian was installing the AC we looked at my furnace as well. I asked him some questions about it, we examined the unit and eventually he fired it up to make sure it works. It’s a new home and it had never been started before. He didn’t need to do that but he took the time to address my concerns. Thanks Brian. 10 out of 10.

I recently wanted to add a washroom to the small furnace/laundry room area in my basement, and I wanted to start the project with replacing the old furnace with a high-efficiency furnace, replacing the old hotwater tank with a tankless water heater, and installing a new air conditioner. Found this contractor on line when i need to replace a VERY old furnace whlist installing chimney liner for the hotwater tank too lately. Initial conversations with Brian over the phone was very postive. He was very polite and patientient to my questions and suggested options that would meet my needs. I'm engineering by traning myself and guess it's fair to say i'm tech savvy. Unlike some of the contractors that i had also talked to his answers & explanations all make sense to me. And his price was evry reasonable. Installation was like a breeze. Brian and his crew did a good job by looking after the details while leaving the site clean after their works. All in all very happy dealing with this firm and i will not hesitate to recommend it to anybody who needs a HAVC work.

Brian and his crew did an outstanding job replacing the furnace and air conditioner at our house. The price was good, workmanship was excellent and the system performed way better than the original system that came with the house. After reviewing many HVAC companies I decided to go with mandarin heating and cooling. Brian is very polite and a man that honours customer satisfaction/service. I would highly recommend Brian for any HVAC service. Brian and his team are very clean and professional and the best priced.

Too often I find myself talking to a sales guy with all the promises. But then the actual work is done by a contractor that is not up to par. So I prefer to talk to and deal with the person that's actually doing the work.
Found Mandarin Heating and Cooling on kijiji with good prices. Confirmed that reviews on Homestars look good. Then contacted Brian to replace an old furnace at my parents' house. The furnace is a 2-stage variable speed DC motor. When the second stage kicks in, it gets a little loud. That just how the furnace works, nothing wrong with the installation. To help address the noise, Brian came and adjusted the furnace to run always in the first stage, which is fine for a small house.
Very satisfied with the install that called him up again to replace the aging furnace at my own house.
Install completes within the day and all the paperwork submitted and 3 months later government rebate cheque arrives.
Brian is knowledgeable and readily available to address questions and concerns.

Brian installed a new 45K BTU, 2 stage, variable speed furnace for me. I am extremely happy with the service I received. He and his team worked from 10am until almost 7pm to get the job done. They laid drop cloths everywhere to protect our floors and carpets. Any and all questions were answered with professionalism and courtesy. The workmanship on the install was just excellent. When the job was done, Brian inspected everything to make sure all was in order and working as expected. The work area was absolutely spotless when they left. Brian also helped to submit the warranty registration with the manufacturer, as well as the OPA rebate application.

Finally, the quote Brian gave me over the phone when I first contacted him and explained my situation, was exactly the amount I paid when the job was done. No extras, no hidden charges, no "surprises". Brian's price was also hundreds of dollars less than the other contractors I had gotten quotes from.

Searching for and selecting a contractor for a job that would run into thousands of dollars was not easy for me. Working with Brian made the process simple and stress-free. If you are looking for a HVAC contractor, I highly recommend talking to Brian before making your decision.

Brian and team did an excellent job in several family homes. After the first job we contracted him to do several others. Each was done at an excellent cost and with high standards. If you are ok with using using established but perhaps not the top-of-the-line brands that might have a few more issues (but they all do), then call Mandarin .

After Quotes from several companies, I decided on Mandarin Heating & Cooling. They had the best deal on their pricing of 2 ton air conditioner with installation. I was still worried about the workmanship. It turns out Brian is a polite, experienced , professional, and hard working man. He made sure I was satisfied, he spend several hours testing the system etc., even let me see him work, overall I was pleased with his workmanship.
