sofa's

Many years ago we bought a sofa set at Hausenbarn and were happy with our purchase. Once in a while we went back to the store to look at other furniture but where always amazed at how badly we and other visitors were treated. The sales ladies ignore us or are just plain rude to us and other potential customers. Maybe we didn't look wealthy enough? Maybe our accent stood out.Will I ever buy something from them again? Never! I will spend our money somewhere where they appreciate our business.

3 counter stools

Hausenbarn in Mississsauga has the worst customer service in all of the GTA. The "owner" - blonde and has a lot of attitude ... you cannot miss her - she took my order over the phone with my credit card. There was a miscomunication about the number of counter stools I ordered. I ordered 2 stools. When I went to the store to pick these up, she told me my 3 stools were ready. I explained that I only ordered 2 stools - she proceeded to argue with me after putting through the purchase only seconds earlier and she stated that ALL SAYS ARE FINAL and that she cannot and will not return the stool. I said i just bought the items a minute ago so surely she can return the chair since my kitchen counter is not big enough for three stools.

Perplexed I had explained that there was obviously a miscommunication over the phone and she said it was not her mistake that it was mine and she did not care what my understanding was. I indicated that I just purchased over $700 worth of items and this is how you treat your customers. She said she didn't care and there are plenty of other customers. She took a stool and put it outside of the store and then refused to help me take out the rest. SHE THEN TOLD ME TO GET OUT. The apparant owner HAS MAJOR ATTITUDE FOR OWNING A FAILING BUSINESS (IT'S GOING OUT OF BUSINESS)DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!!

Bathroom accessories

I went into Hausenbarn with my grandchild and no one even said "hello" as we walked in, they were too busy laughing amongst themselves. My grandchild starting giggling and laughing and that finally got the attention of the sales people as they rudely looked over at him. I am sure they wanted to say something but I gave them dagger eyes and just left. I have never felt so unwelcomed in an establishment before.

Dining Room

If you are going to purchace items from this store see if you can get them directly off of the showroom floor. If they have to order it in and tell you it will be 8 weeks do not believe them. We ordered items in March with the promise of an 8 week delivery.....we received them during the first week of September.
Kelly the owner is fine to deal with but the majority of the staff are rude and snobby. They should remember that $14.00p/h wage is only possible due to that fact people do come in and spend 4-5-10 K on furnature.Lose the attitude ladies until you can afford to shop where you work!!!!!

Custom bench

After checking other furniture stores, we purchased a custom bench for our new kitchen from Hausenbarn. There were many fabrics to choose from and the price was better than other stores. Delivery was quoted 8-10 weeks and we received it at 9 weeks, in excellent condition. The staff even loaded it into our car! I would recommend this store and its staff to anyone.

my parents bought a bistro table and chairs from this store. first of all the service was so incredibly rude, secondly the products were about two months late.

Living room chairs

One of the worst stores I have dealt with for Customer Service. When they tell you a product will be ready in 8-10 weeks and you have not received it after 12 you would think that they would follow up with the manufacture on your behalf but apparently once they have your deposit it is not their concern. It is amazing how a store like this can stay in business with such poor customer service they must not need repeat business and will certainly not be getting it from us!

table, barstool and decorative items purchases

I purchased several items at this store and did not experience unpleasant experiences. I generally dealt with Catherine and she was very pleasant and helpful to deal with. I have not seen her lately at the store and am not certain if she still works there. I actually saved about $200 by purchasing a table through them as opposed to getting an identical one through UpCountry store. Table arrived within a few weeks. I only had a slight issue with the chrome bar being slightly discoloured during transportation. Catherine cleaned it up with WD40 which was satisfactory. Plus I learned a tip from her as I could do this at home myself. I also ordered a pricy bar stool which arrived promptly. Catherine was always friendly when I visited the store and greeted my daughter and I when we shopped. She was also helpful and gave suggestions and provided pictures of buffets I was trying to match to items I own. I was surprised to read such poor reviews about the timely delivery and quality of items. PS.The best part is the friendly dog they have on site. My little girl loves it.

Furniture

I also had a VERY bad experience with this store. I was told that my furniture would take 6-8 weeks to come in and it took about 4 or 5 months. I left several messages. I felt the same way in that the sales staff and manager could care less about any complaints and didn't try to resolve or reassure me about anything. After it taking so long to come in they told me that the delivery schedule was booked and it would take even longer. I asked them to incld the delivery charges for the inconvenience and they declined. The store manager Kelly Steele and her staff were incredibly rude and very unhelpful. A friend of mine also found an ottoman he liked at Hausenbarn and when we went in to look at it after I had warned him about the store, he asked if they would give him 50 off if he purchased a 200- leaning bookshelf as well, for a total of 1000-, they declined. We went to Urban Mode, they provided him with an even bigger discount and friendly service for the exact same item. Deboers was even willing to discount. I'm surprised this store is still in business. I highly recommend purchasing your items at a different store. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with these people.

Livingroom design consultation

My wife I also just had an equally poor experience with this place on a consultation which was supposedly included in the purchase price of a sofa, only to find that the original consultant we felt comfortable with left the store and they expected us to work with someone else. No effort was made to accomodate our concern and for a so called "designer" level firm, I could receive the same caliber experience from the Brick. I will also be contacting their local BBB once I receive my purchase and am sure nothing else crops up.
