Moncada Windows Doors & Siding

We requested quotes from a number of different companies in the area, as well as larger organizations, for the replacement of 2 basement windows. Jim from Moncada came and gave us a quote and it was no-nonesense, and a helpful meeting. I felt with other companies that they were giving us a "show" or that the price could be modified if you haggled - but with Moncada the pricing process was pretty straigh forward and I did appreciate that. Their pricing was on par with everyone else, we went with them evn though they were a *bit* higher because we felt that the quoting process was the least stressful.

{Delivery}
The windows came on time, and were not delayed at all.

{Installation}
The guys came to install the windows were a bit gruff. For an older couple, I would suggest having someone there to inspect the installation process, as the 2 guys were a bit intimidating.

A few weeks after the installation we were installing drywall around the window and realized that the windows were REALLY not level, and had an obvious tilt to them. We called back to express our concern and were told that it was "supposed to be like that". We were basically given the run around, which was really frustrating.

{Fixing the problem}
My husband stayed on the issue and within 2 weeks they came back. The installers looked at the window and gave my husband the run around saying that he couldn't fix it. He'd have to come back another day. We said to get his boss on the phone, and magically they were able to fix the windows.

{Summary} The whole process was pretty much ok, except for the run around at the end when the windows were not level. I would truly suggest that you inspect the windows before the guys leave. We trusted the "process" so had no reason to doubt their work.

In the end, they fixed the issue, and we like the windows.

Staff took the time to explain product benefits versus expense. They were extremely helpful in explaining the new government grants on home renovations. We only had a few of our windows replaced, but they did not make us feel like a small client.

Moncada replaced the old aluminium front bedroom window with casements and the basement windows, Cost was reasonable and the workmanship was good. And they looked great. They did such a nice job on this small job I brought them back again to replace the kitchen window and the front entrance door. This was completed early in 2006 and still looking great. If I need additional work done I would certainly go back to them first.

We contacted Moncada for a new patio door based on recommendation as well as work done 20+ years ago at our previous home. Sales rep was prompt and informative. Door was to be done in 2-3 weeks. Less than 2 weeks later we had call and installation was done. Installers were prompt,efficient and work done as required.

We had previously hired Moncada to do two other jobs (one door, one window) and been very satisfied, and had in fact recommended them to many people. We hired them again, late last year, this time to do a number of windows and a patio door. The windows went okay, although not perfect by any means. The patio door has been a nightmare. We are now at 7.5 months since installation and the thing is still not right. We've had every kind of runaround. Moncada and the manufacturer both say its the other guy. We've been told wind coming in between the patio door panels is normal, as are bowed frames and door panels, locks that don't hold, sitting in the back yard and hearing normal volume indoor conversations through the closed and locked door, etc. etc. I'm not optomistic that this 4200 patio door will ever be right. I can no longer recommend Moncada to anyone.

We enjoy our new doors, they look great and work well. Nicely installed, except for a couple of glitches... the installer cut the wires leading to the alarm which he said he wouldn't, and the casing around the side door is a bit shoddy. It took a long time (6 weeks) between deposit and installation ... but we are happy.

After seeking several estimates, we chose Moncado and have been very pleased with the result. Our new windows and patio door look great and have performed well. We are already planning to have Moncado replace several more windows when our budget permits!

I had Moncada windows do two jobs on my home for me. They replaced my 80 year old windows when I moved in with new vinyl windows, and we had them back to install new soffit/ facia and evestrough. They did a great job and we have had 8 years of trouble free windows. We plan on using them again on our latest renovation!

I ordered one replacement window for my condo. It was hard to find a company that would do one window on the 3rd floor of a low rise building. Moncada is a very accomodating and professional company. Knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend. Delivery next week. stay tuned.
