We requested quotes from a number of different companies in the area, as well as larger organizations, for the replacement of 2 basement windows. Jim from Moncada came and gave us a quote and it was no-nonesense, and a helpful meeting. I felt with other companies that they were giving us a "show" or that the price could be modified if you haggled - but with Moncada the pricing process was pretty straigh forward and I did appreciate that. Their pricing was on par with everyone else, we went with them evn though they were a *bit* higher because we felt that the quoting process was the least stressful. {Delivery} The windows came on time, and were not delayed at all. {Installation} The guys came to install the windows were a bit gruff. For an older couple, I would suggest having someone there to inspect the installation process, as the 2 guys were a bit intimidating. A few weeks after the installation we were installing drywall around the window and realized that the windows were REALLY not level, and had an obvious tilt to them. We called back to express our concern and were told that it was "supposed to be like that". We were basically given the run around, which was really frustrating. {Fixing the problem} My husband stayed on the issue and within 2 weeks they came back. The installers looked at the window and gave my husband the run around saying that he couldn't fix it. He'd have to come back another day. We said to get his boss on the phone, and magically they were able to fix the windows. {Summary} The whole process was pretty much ok, except for the run around at the end when the windows were not level. I would truly suggest that you inspect the windows before the guys leave. We trusted the "process" so had no reason to doubt their work. In the end, they fixed the issue, and we like the windows.

What could this company do to improve their services?
When we had an issue, it would have been helpful that they didn't defend the work right away (without seeing for themselves what the issue was!) They went on the defense right away, when we would have preferred them to acknowledge a mistake MAY have been made. We simply just wanted it fixed.

I have shopped at Universal countless times, and because of the ease of transaction, and their willingness to help find the right lighting, I have been a loyal shopper ever since. Their pricing is extremely competative, and the lowest for many specific pieces. I highly recommend this store.

Bought our carpet from Elte, and the service was absolutely horrific. Salesperson(s) were snobby, rude, and condesending but we plowed on with the ordering process. Our installation was scheduled, and come time for our install, they brought the wrong carpet. Had to wait months for the correct. It wasn't worth the trouble. We have since purchased from Dominion Rug, and there were no issues at all.

My experience with Au Lit was unfortunately awful all due to service. On a number of occasions I have gone in to browse, and every time, have received the same standoff reception from the staff, leading me to wonder if I looked "second class". No one would help, they stand with their arms crossed - you'd think if you were spending $400 on a Duvet and then $400 on a duvet cover, you'd get a nice attitued - but oh god no. I bought my duvet + duvet cover from them as I did love it, and the quality is beautiful. However, I refuse to go shop there again as the shopping experience made me feel lower than low. Go in, but don't expect anyone to be nice.

We had a yellow bathroom - yellow tiles and yellow (due to dirt) bathtub. We didn't have the funds to do a complete reno, so we thought that painting the tub + tiles would hold us until 5-10 years from now when we wanted to redo the bathroom. Loumerico was the lowest quote, the guys were REALLY hard workers, friendly and courteous. I just really liked them as people, and the finished look was 100% amazing. The only downside is, is that the bathroom stinks for about 2 days. Not their fault - just the nature of paint.
