When homeowners visit your profile, there are a few things that they go through before they decide to contact you. Apart from checking reviews, Verification Badges and Star Score, your displayed category also plays a major role. It is the first thing that homeowners would check to see if you are the right fit for the job at hand. How Can You Change Your Displayed Category?

You can change your displayed category through your HomeStars business profile by logging into your profile and then accessing the dashboard.

Step 1: Log in to your HomeStars profile and click on the ‘Company Profile’ menu on the left side of your dashboard to check the profile details.

Step 2: Under ‘Company Info’, you can see the company name and a dropdown menu titled, ‘Main Category of Work’. Click on the arrow on the dropdown menu and choose the category that you want to display on your profile.

Step 3: Once you choose the preferential category to display, make sure you save the settings. Locate the green ‘Save Button’ on the right-hand side corner of your dashboard and with a simple click save the change!

And that’s it! Once your changes have been saved, your displayed category will be updated on the profile and you can view it on the main page. Your main category is what you would like displayed in your profile header. You can still include multiple categories and will continue to appear in search results for all categories you have enabled.
