New Home

I purchased and built with Pacesetter last year. My sales person was Rick and he was a delight to deal with. Always friendly and quick to respond to my questions. There were a few issues along the way but every time I would stop by the show home Rick would either have the answer or find out quickly. I felt he was in my corner more than the company and was so glad to have him as my sales person. I would recommend using him for your salesperson and he really cares and listens. I stopped by the show home after we moved in and was sad to find out he is not with Pacesetter anymore too bad and the replacement is not up to the same level of customer service.

New Home

We have been to almost every showhome in the city looking for "Our House". It was so frustrating walking into a house and loving it, only to find out that at least 80% of it was upgraded (which obviously meant a lot more $$$). I was already skeptical walking into Pacesetter for the first time because of this. As soon as I walked in, I instantly rolled my eyes thinking it was the most upgraded one I'd seen yet! Imagine my surprise when I asked what was upgraded and the response was,"Just the railings on the stairs" .....Wait what? Are you kidding me, this house is amazing! Now I pay attention to detail.....I could NOT find any flaws in the walls, every light switch was perfectly level, edges on mouldings were seamless. This builder caught my attention. We went to a few more of their showhomes to see if the quality wasn't a one time deal. Each house was just as beautiful as the last...with very little upgrades. We're partially sold at this point.
Next step, let's talk to the sales people. I feel like this is just as important. You can love a house all you want, but if the people you have to deal with to build it are horrible, then what's the point? We wanted this experience to be a happy one. For us, buying a house is a big deal and we wanted it to be a great memory. We met a few of the Pacesetter Representatives during walk throughs of the showhomes and all were very nice, but one...or should I say two stood out above the rest: Marissa and Colton in the Tamarack Area. We weren't even planning on building in that area, but it didn't matter. They were instantly our pick! Both were very informative without ever being pushy. They turned me from skeptical to excited and within a week, we signed. Every question I had, no matter how small was just as important to them as it was to me. Not only did we find the perfect house, but we found the perfect people to help us build it. Everytime we meet with them I leave with a smile on my face. We are still in the very early stages of our build, but so far this experience has been wonderful! Not only would I recommend Pacesetter as a great company, but I definitely recommend to go to Marissa and Colton!! Looking forward to all the exciting things ahead!!! ☺️

Service

I really regret about my decision to go with Pacesetter. The quality of their work can be rated "0" with no doubt. The downspout in the front slanting not in the correct place. They poured the improper sized concrete in the front. I have been waiting to get it redone for 6 weeks. There are no steps yet because of concrete issues. We have been using temporary wooden steps. I have got a sister who is disable and got two small kids who are not comfortable using temporary steps. I have requested several times to the site supervisor, email warranty and even phoned the many times. No one seems to care about the client suffering. There are many works to be done, they tells that those are seasonal.
The warranty gave me a number to call and it was 587 590 3673. when I call this number someone receive and told me it is not his job. so frustrating. Pacesetter only cares about the money, not the client. They are good at the time of purchase, but as soon as you sighed the contract, you will notice a change the next day. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS BUILDER. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANY OF MY FAMILY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS TO THIS BUILDER.

Forever House

We decided to build a new house in April 2014 in New Castle. After going through the showhomes in the area, we loved the finishings with Pacesetter and their use of coffered or tray ceilings in their designs that we didn't see with the other builders. We knew we wanted to build with Pacesetter, but we just had to find the right floor plan. After visiting a number of show homes and spec homes we fell in love with one and were able to tailor it to meet our needs. Moe, our salesman, was great in walking us through the process and explaining what was standard vs upgrade. We had built a home with another builder before and had a pretty good idea what upgrades and changes we wanted to make, but Moe was able to make some great suggestions as well that we wouldn't have thought of. Through the entire design and build process Moe was always quick to track down answers to the questions we had. No build isn't without stress and frustration and the waiting to get blueprints updated and to get into DesignQ to pick out all of the interior finishings (had to be done before permits are submitted and the build prcoess begins) was the hardest part. Why you need to pick out your paint colour before they submit a building permit is beyond me. There some miscommuniation and our file was missed being sent to the city to get a permit and we lost a month waiting, they said they would get us back on track and make up the time they had lost and they were true to their word getting us two weeks after another couple that had written a deal two weeks before us.

Once the ground was staked and construction began there was progress every week. Things slowed down after rough-ins were done to get inspections, but once insulation started things moved at a fast pace. From stakeout to completion was 8 months, which ws pretty good since our old house took 7 months and was smaller and didn't have the finishings this one did.

A week before posession we had our pre-occupancy inspection. I'm not sure if other builders do this or not, but this gave us an opportunity to point out defects and things to be fixed a week before we got possession to get it all done before we got the keys. It also gave us a chance to meet the site supervisor James and his assistant Chase. They made you feel like your home is in good hands and treated as though it were their own. I only wish we were able to meet them earlier on in the process as it would have given us piece of mind that the builder really did care about the house and it wasn't just another house they were trying to crank out. If you're looking to build in New Castle with Pacesetter you won't regret it. We can't say enough good things about James and Chase as they always try to go above and beyond and to make sure we're completely satisfied. There was a pile of mangled rebar on the lot next to us which was a safety concern with our two kids and they day after we brought it up, it was cut up and taken away. On possession day there were only a few minor things to fix and only one or two items were they not able to remedy on the spot. VERY impressed! The house was very clean on possession day. We were expecting to have to clean it right away, but we didn't need to.

We would definately build with Pacesetter again, but now that they've build us our forever house, we're never moving!

Dear Hemant,

Our team is committed to rectifying the outstanding items as quickly as possible. Our cabinet supplier has already been to your home and surveyed the work required. Extra pieces such as the door, take 4-6 weeks to manufacture and replace, we are currently awaiting for the parts to manufactured and we will be scheduling an appointment once these pieces are ready. We have been in contact with the appliance company and the hood fan should be replaced today. The other items listed below are also being addressed, and repairs have been scheduled. Please continue to be in communication with your site supervisor Trent, as he is the primary coordinator of this work. Thank-you for our patience as we complete this work.

New Home Build

We began the building process in December of 2013 with Pacesetter. We were extremely happy with our sales manager Michelle. All our questions were answered. Took possession of the house and still loved it. A few issues here and there but nothing major. However, in our contract we were told NO SEASONAL HOLDBACKS. We took possession October 2014 and our rough grade was not completed nor were our window wells properly completed. We were told the window wells would be done immediately and not to worry about the rough grade as it would be better come spring. Well its almost June and no rough grade and our window wells arent done. Oh and there is builder supplies and junk from the builder in a big pile on my property that I pay taxes on. We sent an email to the seasonal department and got a copy and paste answer back. My husband sent two more emails, zero response. I have left a voicemail with the warranty department, zero response. Right now in my mind, Pacesetter in in Breach of Contract as it clearly states wtih my initials beside it NO SEASONAL HOLDBACKS. Extremely disappointed with our treatment.

Hello Dana,

We are very sorry to hear this experience has been frustrating for you. Your salesperson should have clearly explained to you what 'no seasonal holdbacks' means, because it seems there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication involved. We care about how our customers are treated, and would like to discuss the matter with you. Could you please send us an email at pacesettersales@qualico.com with your job number and/or home address so we can look into this in detail? We look forward to working with you to resolve this matter.

New Home Build

NEVER BUY FROM PACESETTER!!!! They will take your money and forget about you!! Quality is okay but still not what it should be. Bottom of the barrel standard options and EVERYTHING is an upgrade. You will wait 2 years for your rough grade so be prepared to live in a mud pit!!

New Construction

We began our home building process with Pacesetter in Oct 2013 with the help salesman Kelly Smith, he was a great help in setting up the process and expectations while guiding us through the entire process . Although the build took a couple months longer then we expected the house is very beautiful. Pacesetter is worth the wait and I have found the service to be quite prompt. A few things need to be repaired and fixed for the upcoming one year inspection but I am sure they will continue to supply the good service we have gotten used to.

New Home Construction

Good at sales, not great, but once you get possession of the new home, be prepared to not get any responses from anyone. The first time I met the site supervisor was on possession day. I built 2 new homes, with 2 different builders, in 3 years and I will avoid Pacesetter if I do it again.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
