Home in Griesbach

We are young and first time home buyers and bought a house in Griesbachh through Pacesetter. Pacesetter Area manager took advantage of us, he didn’t reveal the total base price of the house and list all the upgrades on the house. On pricing we started with a showhome Price then he just deducted the upgrades that we don’t want. So by this process we are blinded by what are all the upgrades in the show homes. These are that things that we noticed that weren’t discussed and included.

• Our garage is smaller compared to the showhome
• There is a bump out that are part of the showhome (approximately 20 square feet) is not discussed and included
• There is a one and done policy but we found out that garage opener wasn’t included as well. So I have to buy and install it by myself
• They install a wrong type of roof. We chose an architectural shingles from the brochure however they put on papers a 3 tab shingles.
• Window blinds wasn’t discussed and included

After the pricing we didn’t get to see the papers. He didn’t sent it to us just to review, we only seen it on the day we signed the paper (Our fault is that we trusted them but that is our nature we easily trust people but now we learned). After we signed and made the down payment, we cannot do or change anything about it.

We would like to have a secondary suite however, they are telling something that is not true (example : we already have finished basement included on our price but he said we need to have separate electrical which would cost additional 60K) that he told us so didn’t proceed with it. He proposed to us to just rented it out illegally since most people do it.

To all the readers, I hope this experience won’t happen to you because it is very painful experience and lot of stress it brought to us.

Btw, the site supervisor is very nice though and we had good experience it Design Q.

New Homebuyer

As a first time homebuyer, my experience with Pacesetter is excellent! Me and my wife really appreciate Kelly Smith (Area Manager) cause he's very accommodating, friendly and helpful to us. Even to the site supervisor, he's really nice and very approachable. I can say that their service and the way they treat their customer is commendable. Good job!

New home build

We've looked at many houses before we went to the pacesetter Showhome. When we went to the Showhome in beaumont we met Kelly Smith we talked a while told him what we wanted to spend and what we were looking for in a new home. He worked with us on deciding to go withet the Maddy 2 home. The first time we went to see the Showhome we fell in love with it. I especially love that what you see is what you get all the amazing finishing were to our surprise included in the standard package. Kelly was great through the whole process we loved how honest he was in telling what to do and not to do. He Didnt try to up sell us at all and the final price was pretty well exact to what we wanted to spend. He was available when ever we had questions always quick to get back to us. Very informative and knowledgable. It was so exciting seeing all the new stages of the home build. When we did our final walk through the house looked amazing!! The area supervisor Denny did a great job on getting the house ready for us we couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Pacesetter and Kelly Smith to anyone looking to purchase a new home. We are so happy with how our house turned out.

view the Showhome in Beaumont we instantly fell in love it.

Home builder

Worst builder. They poorly built the home leading to a stair railing coming loose causing injury. They do not respond to emails, and feel that everything is your problem once you take the keys. Poor service and follow up. The Site supervisor was good but seemed his hands were always tied by corporate or they would just set them up to look useless. You have to go through warranty or seasonal but then they send you back to the site supervisor who can only do what warranty and seasonal say. Very poor service. Would not recommend. Updating my review too 0 have no contacted the BBB as Pacesetter continues to ignore emails. All the other reviewers are correct when they say they don't get back to you. They damaged my home doing the rough grade and completely ignored that email complaint. This is the definition of take your money and run.

Service

I purchased our second home with Pacesetter, BIGGEST mistake of my entire life. I would NEVER recommend this company to even my worst enemy. From the initial sale person not disclosing critical significant information such as big building that is coming behind our home.
They initially wanted to change our purchase price although there are legal documents, since they could not do that, now the new issues are that although appliances are included in the purchase price now they are saying they are not. Even though the initial sale person emailed us the addendums, but when we got there as per usual mistake she print out the wrong addendums and I was in labour due to give birth the next day, didnt pay attention signed it. They fixed it first of all ,then now recanted again they are saying that appliances arent included and we have to pay $1800, its unreal, unreal..

It has been going on for 6 months this shenanigan, it is a nightmare. Even my sister who wanted to purchased a home from them for the second time , had the experience from hell and chose to go with Avi to build her second home. STAY AWAY. They really don't care about building relationship with their homeowners. That has been my experience. It never ends, never, is one thing after another and another..ongoing...so inconsistent and unreliable.

We went through 3 sales person, in this new home alone. I don't recommend it.

New Home Build

Our rough grade approval has taken way too long. Neighbours who built with another company and moved in around the time we did or after we did have already gotten their sod, trees, and shrubs. We don't have rough grade approval yet, and there doesn't appear to be any indication that we will get it this season, let alone this year. What gives?! Guess we should have chosen that other company. Looks like they know how to get things done.

Home build

Do not buy from Pacesetter! Once they have your money they couldn't care less about the customer. Our singles have been falling off our roof since we moved in. Now 2 and a half years later and we are being told by Pacesetter that, "they tried," but now it's our responsibility to contact the roofing company and the company that makes the shingles. What a joke. This is one of many serious issues we have encountered. The communication within this company is horrible. Be prepared to send 100 emails in order to receive one response. I would not recommend this company to anyone! I am sure I will receive a faster response on this site than I have from any member of Pacesetter in the last 2 and a half years. Can't wait!

New Home

I purchased and built with Pacesetter last year. My sales person was Rick and he was a delight to deal with. Always friendly and quick to respond to my questions. There were a few issues along the way but every time I would stop by the show home Rick would either have the answer or find out quickly. I felt he was in my corner more than the company and was so glad to have him as my sales person. I would recommend using him for your salesperson and he really cares and listens. I stopped by the show home after we moved in and was sad to find out he is not with Pacesetter anymore too bad and the replacement is not up to the same level of customer service.
