Men In Kilts Window Cleaning

Men in Kilts cleaned my eavestroughs last fall. They told me about their house washing service. Having a zillion spiders around here, I decided to take them up on it just to get rid of the spider webs if nothing else. Their technician Joseph showed up on time and got to work. He was appropriately masked and careful to maintain COVID-19 distancing. He explained everything that he was about to do. I am pleased to say that the house trim just sparkled when he was finished. Even the brick looked much better. As for the windows; the last time they were that clean is when they were installed.
I am very happy with both visits from Men in Kilts and plan to be a regular customer.

Beware of BAIT AND SWITCH!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Seriously. Read this FULL story before you book these guys.

This company is incredibly dishonest. I requested a quote a month in advance from three different companies and this company was slightly cheaper than the others. So I booked.

The quote was $386. The final price was $510. And that's not even the worst of it.

At 7:23am on a Saturday morning I get a call from the window technician saying he needs a key for his 9am appointment. The appointment was supposed to be 11, but fine. I tell him where I'll leave the key.

He gets to the house, calls me and tells me that the quote I got was way off and it would be much more expensive. I tell the window cleaner not to do it and I called the office to express my concerns. The dispatcher arranged for someone else to come do my house later in the day and told me they would give me $50 off the NEW price, which they would quote me once the technicians arrived.

I told her that I expected the new price to be within a reasonable ballpark of the original quote and she stated "unfortunately, I cannot honour the approximate pricing as it was only an estimate, which is based on the square footage of your home." This is despite the fact that I answered several questions including questions about how many stories I had and whether I had high windows. And regardless of the reason, they should be giving accurate quotes! The point of getting a quote in the first place is to be able to make an informed decision!

The new guy called me with a quote of $560 (minus $50) for interior and exterior windows. Even if that is the going rate (which it isn't because I had other quotes), it's almost $200 more than my original quote. And I had no choice but to accept the amount because I am listing my house on Monday. I told Trevor (the technician) that I felt this price was unfair and that this felt like a bait and switch. He was very empathetic and kind and told me "hey, I'll drop the price and I just won't count a couple of the windows and I'll charge you $450." I thanked him and felt placated.

Then I get the bill and it was the original $510 charge! I texted him to ask what happened and he said "I tried to get the price down, but I couldn't with the window counts. It's hard for me to change them. If my supervisors come to the site to do a window count they will see that I undercharged." See screenshot.

His supervisors don't come to count for the quote so WHY would they come check for the final bill!!!

So they didn't bait and switch me once, but TWICE!!!

These guys are dishonest. Go back and look at other low ratings and you will see that they repeatedly do this to people. Click on "low ratings" and read them. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Had Jong over on Friday to clean my outside windows, he called to let me know he would be arriving shortly and when he did, he rang the bell and then stood the appropriate distance away. He explained the process, assessed the job and provided the price. I had a little fun with Jong and had a funny picture or saying in each of my windows, when he was done, he said it made his day and he made mine now that I can see clearly now the dirt is gone and it is a bright sunshiny day! Thanks Jong, for having a laugh with me and doing such a quick and amazing job!

GREAT JOB GUYS! You can tell that they love their job, which is always nice to see. They took time to explain what they can and will do, and give me an estimate right there. They were very friendly and polite. Will certainly get them back next year!

Rob and Damon did a wonderful job on our windows this morning. They are polite, timely and friendly. This is the third time using Men in Kilts for windows and eavestrough cleaning. Very satisfied and will continue to use this company.

Nicholas came out and cleaned my sliding and gutters. OMG, I did not realize how bad my home was until this transformation happen. It looks great and he answered by questions as he worked away. I would highly recommend Men in Kilts to anyone.

Gentleman was very professional, checked with me a couple times, once to find out if I was satisfied with the deck cleaning and once to let me know where the roof will need repair. He also offered to install screens in the gutter to eliminate plugging at the down spout entrance. Saves me from climbing to unplug the gutters. The cost may seem a bit high but includes the detached garage as well with several large windows, large composite deck, all gutters. Great friendly service. I will use that company again and I recommend it.

This is the 2nd year in a row that we’ve hired Men in Kilts to wash our exterior windows, and again, we were very pleased with the results. Raymond was polite, friendly, & competent, & completed the work very quickly. The cost was very reasonable. Our windows are gleaming! We’ll be using Men in Kilts next year for sure.

This is the third year using the services of Men in Kilts. I was pleased that Jason, while maintaining social distancing, showed me everything that he had done. I noted that he did the downspouts that I forgot to mention. He said he looked back to last year's notes and I'm glad he did. Great job done!

It all started out with a great phone call to reception where I was provided a budgetary quote and a clear explanation of the process. The service van arrived 15 min early, gave me an estimate $50 below the budget quote (with more included), and completed the job within a few hours. The exterior of my home is squeaky clean...he even dropped into my deep window wells on the side of my house to scrub and clean. I will recommend Men in Kilts to my family and friends and look forward to having them back next year.
