Doorbell/camera setup

I have a doorbell/camera system which was installed by AlarmForce in use for 3.5 years with no problems, if any issues arrived they were quick to respond.Now, it seems Bell has taken over this system from AlarmForce, now the system is not working. The doorbell will not ring unless the button is pushed numerous times, the camera responds only on occasion if at all, no light on the doorbell. I am away a lot from home and depend on this system to check the house.I have called 3 times to the Bell Techs, each time I am told, ALL IS FINE HERE, SEE NO PROBLEMS. I am researching other companies as there is no concern to correct my problem with Bell. very Disappointed

Home Security System

They installed only a smoke and carbon monoxide detector to the main floor of my home and assumed the monitoring of my existing system. I have had to call for service 5 times in 6 weeks. Twice technicians have come by and changed the battery and fixed the problem (supposedly) Been promised that they would escalate my request for service because of the repeated issues with low battery signals to a system that is plugged into the wall with tested power working. No technician calls or comes by and nothing is done. Had the system installed in March and have been unable to use it since. Been credited half a months fees but cannot get out of the 2 year contract without paying for installation services that I never even required.

System stopped working/Technician was rude

I've used Alarm force (Now Bell) for over 4 years. The email notification service stopped working and I called in but I never received a proper explanation why it stopped. After waiting for 2 months for the customer support to call me back, I demanded that they send someone. The first technician told me that they had to update the SIM card and that the system would start working right away, but it didn't. Two weeks later a second technician came to my house and told me that I had to upgrade the system. But.... it wouldn't work with my dog. He suggested that I lock my dog up in a bedroom when I'm not home. Even thought the system tolerance is up to 80 lbs, and my dog is a little over 20 lbs., he said that he can't guarantee the system and that I should be ready for false alarms. He kept arguing with me that I should lock up my dog!!! Then I told him that the email notification wasn't working and he told me that I don't need it, that it is just filling up my emails, that even though I'm paying for it that it isn't necessary. Then he wanted to put the keypad in the kitchen!!!! When I told him that the motion detector would catch movement before being disarmed, his response was to have anyone that walks into the house - wife, kid, cleaning lady, dog walker - call me before entering so that I could disarm it remotely. When I told him that wasn't practical, he said that was the only option. I politely asked him to leave my house and promptly canceled my service.

So the system did work for a few years, but then parts stopped working and I never received a proper explanation for it, and when the second technician came, he basically told me that they couldn't guarantee the system and was insistent that his idea of placement of the keypad was correct. I later found out that this was a senior technician.

I have lost all faith in this company and the people that they hire.

Must Read

Bell home security (previously alarmforce) installed a security system at our business location. After a portion of it was not functioning I asked a technician to come out to inspect. On four (4) different occasions I was given a 5hr window, and no one showed up or called to say they were not able to come. Each time I would get a little more frustrated then call again to set up a meeting. Finally someone showed up and told me that this portion of the system would never have worked in the first place. No solution was attempted.

Their solution was to downgrade to include only the parts of the security system that work, leaving parts of the office vulnerable. I have had to install a system with a new company (I would recommend literally anyone else) and had to pay a fortune to cancel.

The service is outrageous. I would treat this company like old road kill and stay far away as possible.

Now that Alarm Force is Bell...

After having Alarm Force in my house for over 20 years, I called with a simple request, proof of my alarm. I was told that it would take up to 3 weeks. That's ridiculous. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that they don't have supervisors (????) Such a change. I always received great customer service when this company was alarm force but not that you're bell, it's horrible. I also have 2 of my 5 business's with Bell (installed when you were Alarm Force) Have yet to receive the promised hardware and just discovered that the camera's were never recording even though your technician said it was done when he set up the system. I have been paying for nothing and was told that there is nothing you will do. As a big company you should tsruly be ashamed of yourself!

After moving into my new place I needed added security. This company was great and hooked me up very quickly. I will definitely use them again! They were fast and efficient!

Alarm Force / Now TELUS in BC

I have been an AlarmForce client for several years and decided to change my home alarm system from landline reporting to cellular reporting. Jeffrey, a loyalty specialist, very kindly communicated the options and monitoring costs via email and an installation date was set. Today, Kevin, a TELUS technician, (TELUS has acquired AlarmForce in BC) did the installation in a very professional, but friendly, manner. Hats off to both Jeffrey and Kevin for their proficient work ethic and approachable demeanor -- thank you, both!

AlarmForce upgrade

I contacted Alarm Force to add remote arming and disarming. Installation was quick, on-time and tech was knowledgeable. During the upgrade process, I was promised a reduction in price for the Alarm force service. Approximately half. Seems to good to be true, I thought, but I am at the end of my contract, so even if it is not true, I will just leave and go somewhere else. A week after the tech visit, I get a call to say that they are still waiting for the paperwork from the tech. So they are going to give me 1 month free for my troubles. I just got in the mail that they are switching to Bell, so am I getting jerked around. I will post again once they reduce my bill.

Alarm system upgrade

The customer service agent to help me for my alarm upgrade, Jennifer Manguma, was extremely courteous and professional, all the while meeting everyone of my single needs. She made me feel like a valued customer, and rewarded me for my 14 years of loyalty by offering me a free upgrade to the latest alarm system.

She took the time to explain everything to me, set up the appointment for the free installation, and even took the time to call me back when I needed a few minutes to tend to my daughter.

Great company, great service by Jennifer in particular. Thank you!
