Moving

My friend left for Korea and left me $200 for the movers. he had called them earlier and the estimate he had gotten was about $120 for, for $40/hour clearing out a room he had in a condo. There was a single bed, 2 desks and about Due to scheduling conflicts, i had to request the movers to pick up the items at 1 on the 30th, store them in their facilities for 2 days and meet them at the new address on the night of the 1st. Once they arrives, at 2:40 instead of one, they gave an actual estimate of $340, as opposed to the initial phone estimate of $120, with a minimum of 4 hours and an extra 2 hours if storage was required as it required them 2 hours to reach their storage facilities. Like the review above, the elevator was booked for 12-3 but lucky was able to be moved to 3-4:30. After they loaded you items did the hidden fees really add up. $40 dollars for a 'long walk' which was literally a 20 second walk from the elevator to the truck. The cost of the storage, which was told on the phone and before the move to be $100 magically became $120, with the tax coming up to $52. On the day where the items were to be moved in on the 1st, they demanded another $160, another minimum 4 hours. After negotiating, the price of $100 was agreed upon. The movers moved the 2 desks (the bed frame was too big to fit through the stairs and they didn't no posses the tools to take it apart) and after dumping the rest of the items on the front lawn, made a hasty escape while i was rearranging the bags. The total time that was paid for was 6 and a half hours; the time they actually spent moving the stuff was closer to 2 hours, if that. The estimate on the phone, $120, ended up being $552. Not only is this company unreliable, they are also dishonest and unethical. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Move

I'm still waiting for resolution on a torn couch, which they very sneakily tried to hide. I have a witness to this and before I could onfront the movers, they took the beer I offered them and RAN! Buddy was waiting in the truck for the other guy while he collected the beer and YES the hidden costs. They'll quote you 50.00/hour or so but don't tell you about the $1.00 cost for each stair and items over 100 lbs..BEWARE!!! I too wish I would have done my research and not jump at the cheaper cost! :(

Move

Turn and run as fast as you can! This is the worst experience I have ever had. Nothing that they told me was honoured. I made the mistake of not reading any reviews first so hopefully, this helps somebody.

Moving a one bedroom house

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My experience with them was similar to the previous reviewer. I don't know why I didn't read the reviews before asking them to come and waste my time and cause distress to my family. The don't honor the quote they give you on the phone... they PURPOSEFULLY come LATE, they over change per weight and per hour. The people they send work purposefully SLOW. All in all, this company is a fraud from start to end.

If you read any positive reviews, they are all FAKE and from people within this FRAUDULENT company.

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

good moving experience

"They had arranged a fairly complicated move for us on Sunday, May 01: a three-way delivery. In addition, this was an emotionally difficult move as we were moving our very elderly mother/mother-in-law from her apartment into a nursing home. I just wanted to say "thanks" on behalf of our whole family. It was a pleasure dealing with you for the arrangements. You were flexible, knowledgeable, friendly and reassuring. The two men and the truck arrived right on time (actually, even a few minutes early). They had all the equipment needed. They were helpful, responsible and very polite. Your company's charges were told upfront, reasonable and everything got done in good order and good time. Thanks to all of you for a move that made this process so much easier. I will be recommending you to friends and family for any future moves."

Moving

I hired Husky Movers to move the contents of my condo out on March 27th, 2011. First, as anyone who lives in a condo knows, being punctual is essential... you only have the elevator booked for a short period of time. I booked them for 3PM. They showed up at 415. No apology, no explanation. Further to this, once there, they had a contract with all sorts of hidden fees (fees which I had asked about over the phone and they had denied.) They wanted to charge $40/item over 100 lbs. When they were moving I asked how they would know this as they had no scales or other weighing equipment. I was told to "trust" them. They also wanted to charge me $1/stair for any items.

I called to speak with the manager of this business and he tried to put me on hold and then not answer the phone. This business is disreputable and dishonest. DO NOT go anywhere near Husky movers.
