Just finished full reno and dealt with many contract workers. By far Max was the beys and is exceptional. Honest, punctual and does outstanding work. Meticulous and great value for money. Would highly recommend.

We are very happy we found Max on Homestars! Max did a terrific job installing Walnut hardwood plus new baseboard and window casing in 2 of our bedrooms; we are very happy NORD-OST customers. Max is now 'our hardwood installer'. Loved Max's attention to detail (before, during and after the job), questions (vs just 'doing' or 'guessing' as I've had with other tradespeople) and enthusiasm to follow up. Max is an engaged talented craftsman that you don't often encounter; my husband and I would recommend him to family and friends in a heartbeat.

We had bought Santos Mahogany hardwood flooring, treads and risers, and all the trim, and we were looking for an installer. When we invited Max over to give us an estimate, it was apparent from the conversation that he was knowledgable and experienced in hardwood flooring and stairs installation, as well as extremely detailed oriented. We are very happy with how the installation went: he's meticulous down to all the details (the transitions were made out of the hardwood flooring strips and they're exact and smooth, especially given all the differing heights of the floors in various rooms of our old house), he cleans up thoroughly, he is straightforward and courteous and asks questions instead of making assumptions, and he completed the job within an acceptable timeframe. We are very happy with the finished job and the price of his services. The only regret we have is that we didn't consult Max before purchasing some of the materials. We would highly recommend Max to anyone who needs hardwood or stairs installation services.

Max installed hardwood flooring on three landings, a corridor and living room, and stairs.

His work in unmatchable, we are so happy to have met Max. His knowledge of the job, hard work and punctuality are genuine.

The flooring I had purchased was not the greatest product to work with though Maxim made it work. With his knowledge and professionalism of the job he made our home look stunning.

It was sad to let him go at the end of the week, and hope we can one day find some more projects to give him.

There is not much more I can add about Max that was already said below. I will say this though: he is the best contractor I ever worked.

I called Max on a whim through a company that I never bought from/worked with but still they recommended him. I usually call about 3-4 contractors when I want work done in my house. Max? Right from the get-go, I could tell that he was the person I wanted to work with...he was the only person I called.

Luckily, my first impression/feeling about him turned out even more than I expected. He explained to me each step of the way (no pun intended) on what he was going to do to install the railings/spindles. As a do-it-yourselfer, I certainly learned a lot from him just observing his professionalism and craftsmanship. We also had some great conversations and he took the time to actually teach me some of his techniques. Everything was done on time and even below what I expected to pay (he wouldn't even take the extra money I was offering him!).

On top of this? He committed to doing the job at my house on a holiday weekend and on short notice. I mean, seriously, who does that?!?

Basically, from this point on, Max would be the first person I would recommend to anyone that is requiring the services he is capable of doing.

Every now and then, if you're really lucky, you find a contractor who is highly skilled, reasonably priced, hardworking, and a great person. That's Max at Nord-Ost. The great thing about Max is he'll help and advise you at every stage of the project, so you feel confident about the choices you're making. He's quite simply the best.

We had Max put down laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room, front hall and bathroom. Max was very professional and you could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. He discussed the whole process with us before he started so we were aware of exactly what he was doing. .Max is a very hard worker and he did an excellent job on our floors. He was a pleasure to deal with . I recommend him highly.

We live in a sixty year old house which was built in several stages so had various types of original flooring and sub-flooring. I purchased new hardwood for the living room, den, and foyer, and needed someone to install it.
A general contractor recommended Max at NORD-OST and I could tell at our first meeting that he has extensive experience in flooring. Our project turned out to be more complicated than we had originally expected because the existing flooring could not be removed without taking up the sub-flooring as well. Max reassured us that replacing the sub-flooring was not extremely difficult and the whole project still was completed in under a week.
In the foyer there are three doors, stairs, and an archway making the flooring plan difficult, but Max laid it out perfectly and even made custom thresholds out of the same wood. The floor looks great and it was a reasonable price. Max is very friendly and courteous as well as being a very skilled tradesman.

Extremely happy with the service and results. Max was a pleasure to have in our home. He was extremely knowledgable and very detailed with every step of the process. I couldn't be happier with the end results. I had 12 different companies provide me with quotes for this project. From the first time Max came to provide me with a quote, I felt he was the right person for the job. After the project was complete we had Max do another project installing Laminate flooring. Both projects were done with excellent craftsmanship. I would highly recommend Max for any project. I look forward to working with Max again on our next project. I'm so glad I found Max on homestars.
