Sofa and two accent chairs

Had I read any of the on-line reviews of this company, I would have stayed away. I wasn't ready for such bad experience! This was as bad or worse than the experience I had with a used car dealership! I normally don't complain and take it - like a true Canadian - up you know what. But I want to take the time to warn all unsuspecting furniture customers : Watch out! The nice furniture inside is not worth the stress of buying it!. The salesmen are misleading! They will promise anything to get the sale, but will not deliver! The manager Ivan ( Mississauga store) is useless, impotent and uncaring! The lady running the warehouse is obnoxious and defensive! Delivery dates ureliable! What hit me the most is the lack of customer care and their attitude. Absolutely no effort to "make it right" or even appologize! Stay away! You have been warned!!!!

Poor Customer Service - couch & coffee table

I am absolutely disgusted with the poor standard of customer service at Mobilia for associating with a third company delivery that do NOT incorporate customer service as part of their "service" They are NOT flexible and do NOT accomodate Condo Owners who must book the elevator in advance - Supervisor did not even deal with the issue just passed it off to another rep that promised to include a note for the driver that delivery needed to occur between 12 and 3 as I had stressed another tennant had booked from 3 - 6. This was after I had to explain the situation multiple times which was never understood. This company calls only 1 day in advance how can anyone in a Condo guarantee the elevator would be available?!?!?! Sure enough I received a call tonight at 5:30PM stating that the delivery will occur between 3 -6 surprise surprise!!! I was LIVID -left a very upset message for Richard Haan who apparently is a SUPERVISOR with no customer service experience-I'm sure I'll get another load of crap in the morning. Does anyone know if you can get a full refund due to this horrid service??!?!?

Special Order Couch

I recently ordered a couch from Mobilia in Mississauga, the exact order date was September 8th, 2009. When I purchased it I was told that it was a "special order" because I wanted a different fabric and that it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive at the store. After a month I called to check the status of my order and was informed that "special orders" actually take 8-10 weeks. After reviewing my invoice, I noted that this was correct so accepted that issue as my fault (though I am sure it wasn't as my move in date was October 24th and I would not have ordered a couch with such a long wait time). After 8 weeks I called again to check the status and was told it would definitely be in this month (November). I called again today (November 24th) and was told by the first person I spoke to it was scheduled to arrive mid-December and then by the salesperson who sold me the couch in the first place that it would be the beginning of December but once it arrived in the store it would take an additional week to deliver it. I explained that I am hosting a party on December 5th and need the couch for that date. The salesperson told me that there is basically nothing they could do, this after they told me that they would make a note on my file to ensure the couch was in this month (November). At this point I will probably be lucky if I get the thing by January.

This is crazy. In addition, NEVER ONCE was I contacted by anyone from Mobilia to say that there were any delays expected.

I don't recommend anyone purchase anything from this store unless you don't really care when you get it. Next time I'll pay the extra few hundred dollars and go to DeBoer's!

Kitchen Table and Chairs

We purchased a table and chairs from Mobilia in Burlington. When the set was delivered there was a 1-1/2" warp in the table. We called and complained, and they said they would have someone come and repair it. The repair tech came a month later, and said that it definitely needed to be replaced, not repaired. We waited another month, then called back Mobilia. They said the service tech didn't inform them that it would need to be replaced, and that we would have to wait another 6 weeks for them to order it. 4 months after that, and about 30 phone calls later, we finally got the replacement table. I love the styling of Mobilia furniture, but I would NEVER buy or recommend this store to anyone.

Furniture Delivery

I think they are quite over-priced to begin with, but I still ended up buying there just because I can't find the design I like anywhere else....wish I haven't tho.

When the guys were delivering my furniture, they somehow think it is a good idea to drag them on my newly installed floor. That left a good 12" scratch on the floor.
I've called their customer service, and was promised they will look after it, but they never did.
There were also some minor defects on a buffet and hutch (tiny chips) they delivered...Didn't bother calling back again after a few times.

Overall, not very happy with the purchase, but they do have a great showroom with very good product selections.

Bought a bed.

Bought a king size bed in June and was delivered on time. However, when sleep on it, the center is higher than the edges. It took us several weeks to determine the problem is in the bed after we eliminated the other possibilities. In the process, found a screw missing when the delivery guys set-up the bed. Went back to the store and spoke to the manager (Kevin). He wrote everything down and told us the service department would call in the next 2 days but they did not. So, I called them. The lady then said I should have reported the problem within 3 days after receiving it. I told her I am not trying to return or exchange the product but there is a defect in the construction which should be under warranty. In the end, she said she has to talk to her manager and call me back. Did not hear from her again. Such poor customer service and questionable quality furniture is not a place where I will shop again nor would I recommend this store to anyone.

Sectional sofa

I don't even know where to start with how horrible the customer service is at Mobilia. The problems started as soon as you had paid our non-refundable deposit. We felt like we had bought a real lemon of a vehicle from a sleezy used car salesman. When we got the couch we were so dissapointed with the poor quality that we sold it at a huge loss and are shopping elsewhere. I wouldn't be suprised if this company is out of business soon given it's horrible customer service.

Glass table

I ordered a small glass table in March from the Markham location, and was told it was in stock in Montreal and would take two weeks to get to Toronto. I received a call, but was then told that only one piece was in and they shouldn't have called. After 4 more weeks, I called back and was told that the table was in - I'm not sure how long it had been sitting there, or why the salesman couldn't call me. I went to pick it up, only to learn that there were two bases and no glass top. I spoke with the manager who told me that he would have to get me another glass top from Montreal - within 2 weeks. They should try using UPS, they'd have much quicker delivery. It's now coming up to two weeks - still no word. Very disappointed in Mobilia and their customer service. They have many salesmen standing around, but no one following through on what happens after they make the sale. I will be cancelling the order tomorrow.

bought sofa and love seat

I purchased a sofa set from Mobilia in February.
Was told it would be 8-10 weeks becuase i special ordered the leather, to my surprise i got a call 4 weeks after saying my sofa set was in and ready for delivery.
They told me they could deliver it in the next 2 or 3 days if i was ready for it. I had it delivered the delivery guys were great, very polite and helpful. We noticed a little mark on the front of the sofa and were instructed by the delivery guy to call Mobilia for a service guy. I spoke to Raquel the next day and she was more very helpful, we had a service guy over the next week and he did a great job. I can not even see where the nick was anymore.

I read alot of reviews after I made my purchase and was very scared. So i wanted to make a point of writing a review since most people only take the time to write bad ones.

I will be back to Mobilia to buy more things when I get a chance to.

2-piece Sectional

I would like to share my horrible experience with Mobilia in Markham that is still unresolved. I have placed an order for a 2-piece sectional back in July 2008. This couch arrived on the 3rd week of DECEMBER after 2 no-show pre-booked deliveries. When I contacted the store, they pointed their finger to the warehouse people. No one took any accountability. One of the piece was also damaged, the fabric was torn and punctured in 2 places. Customer service agreed to have it replaced. March 2009, I received the replacement piece only to find out that it was in the WRONG colour. When I contacted customer service, I was told that the sectional has been DISCONTINUED. I have to now look for a replacement couch altogether (which could drag on for another year based on this experience) or have the fabric patched. I had already purchased an area rug and a coffee table to match and fit the couch. So, based on someone's mistake, and after waiting for 9 months, I still don't have a proper sectional, and I have to go through the entire ordeal again - assuming that I will find something that will fit the other furnitures that I have already purchased. I strongly urge you to STAY AWAY from this store. The store owner, Kevin, does not address anything and there is no linkage between the sales people and the warehouse. I had to call the warehouse myself, take pictures of the damaged sectional, chase after the delivery guys. My mistake was that I have placed other orders with this store previously, and the issues with no-show deliveries and parts missing from the furnitures had not been uncommon, but because I liked the quality and design, I went back there, giving them another chance. I am still paying for this terrible mistake. Don't make the same mistake.
