2nd time we've used Bronte Movers. Just want to thank the men for their exceptional customer service, assistance, friendly manner and going above and beyond for us. This review is a little late, which I apologize for, but it just means we have not forgot what GREAT service you provided for us. And what exceptional humans you are. We saw some negative reviews but very positive ones too, price was good, estimate given our home we left in Oakville was not all that loaded included a single truck. The move was to a small town about 90 minutes drive north.

Crew: Kevin the stout driver, Sanjay for leave only, Robert (hat wearing), Greg working mostly on placement in and out of truck.

We saw that negative reviews pertained to broken goods some fragile and relatively precious and people not buying insurance. We believe that this is a partnership between movers and us and we need to own our precautions and risks and we need to make it easy on movers, which keeps them in better mood and also saves us money as the job is billable by the hour.

We packed tight, moved some big but not too heavy items and many small items very close to the truck (closer rooms and garage). We moved in our 2 SUVs in days ahead risky and easy items (paintings, TV sets, computer monitors, fine china and glasses, numerous plants, fishing rods, various pole-like objects) so they could focus on the difficult and heavy over shorter distances. The 1700 sq foot bungalow filled the truck packed in 3 hours (we also have a finished basement) and the men emptied their truck into our home in a bit less than 3 hours.

We emptied all armoires and commodes, boxes were neatly sealed, heavy with not much empty space inside. On very few occasions we did bring easy stuff to the truck too, which saves everybody's time.

The crew was meticulous and in good mood and very courteous (the packing in truck was very efficient, Robert could carry stuff using sherpa technique with 3 heavy boxes in the back, protective carpets were placed carefully, our hangers fit into moving closets, they wrapped up things for safety such as drawers or armoire doors, glass into special containers, I did not see them bang walls). They had to wait for us at the new address simply because we had to tidy the empty house on that day and needed some time before driving to new address. That was on us and is fine.

The drop off at the new home was probably more difficult for the movers and they needed some short break there as well to catch up. They had longer to travel with heavy furniture into a larger house with many rooms upstairs. Nonetheless, it took less time. We did not care about optimal placement of items into house so long as the big heavy items landed in the right room.

The movers praised my wife for her astute and careful logistics planning, they seemed a bit surprised at how well she had prepared!

These people do a good job and if you prepare very well and make their jobs easier, you will save money and reduce risk. They broke nothing and lost nothing.

Bronte Movers moved my 78 year old father into a smaller apartment in Burlington. They broke his brand new television and tried to blame my husband since we unwrapped it. It was clearly dropped or jostled in the truck. We just took the tape off and the blanket it was wrapped in…we didn’t drop the tv or cause any damage! The cogeco service technician said the TV was dropped and showed my dad where the damage happened. It’s really disappointing since this doubled the price of his move and he’s on a tight budget. Would definitely not recommend this service.

(Would give 3.5 stars if that were an option, -0.5 stars for each of my 3 areas for improvement listed below).

Hard working movers, attentive to instructions for taking things out of the old house and placement into the new. Were careful with the hardwood floor when placing items down not to scratch it.

The quote was accurate both in terms of time and cost, no tricks, no surprises, no hidden costs. They were on time, worked hard, worked long, were organized, ready to go, were strong & capable in moving my things.

However, some room for improvement exists with:

- Not disclosing breaking of a few things, losing a few things, banging a few walls and ceilings when moving. Nothing major was broken to my knowledge, mostly just plastic connection joints for steel shelving units (some were likely broken as they dismantled them, others were simply lost or left behind - I discovered these myself after the move as they were just left on the floor, some broken, and some are just missing, which means I don't have all the pieces required to reassemble my storage racks). A few walls were nicked and the ceiling and door frame of the basement staircase had several nicks and holes. These types of things happen during a move, but no one raised this to my attention, I just found this out myself after the move by seeing the damage and missing pieces.

- No COVID measures were taken. Everyone on my side wore face masks all day long, but none of the movers did. I have had a number of contractors working on various projects at my house and they all wear masks, so it was a bit surprising and concerning for 4 people to be unmasked all day during a move.

- The mess left behind on the hardwood floors was extreme. They laid some protective floor runners down, but not nearly enough to be effective. They covered less than 25% of the floor space used to move throughout the old and new houses. Also the runners weren't wide enough, and the movers didn't make much effort to stay on them while moving throughout the house, so there was mud tracked all throughout the house, all rooms, even on each side of the runners.

Hi I would like to thank Chris Bailey for helping us for our move from Toronto to New Brunswick, he was very helpful and made our move so smoothly, he sent 3 young movers to our condo they were actually the best movers we have ever had, such gentlemen 2 were brothers and one we call shades....the did an awesome job....thank you again for everything.....

The team did an excellent job. They took time to wrap all pictures and mirrors with the utmost care. The work very hard and the guys seem very happy. I will hire them again for sure.

My mom had a storage locker with heavy furniture and boxes and both Ed and Jason from Bronte were very positive and upbeat and did a great job loading the awkward stuff onto the truck and delivering it to her place. They took care to cover the floors of her house and place the items where we asked. This is the third time she has used this company and each time has had excellent service. It was a pleasure dealing with both Ed and Jason and we would highly recommend them to our family and friends. Thank you!

Moving is the pits but Bronte Movers made everything so much better! From the office staff to the team who came and cleared our house (Stephen, Robert and Jordan), everyone was amazing!!! I've used them twice now and will use them again (although hopefully not for a while haha).

The team was excellent and courteous. They took great care with our furniture wrapping and covering everything. Nothing was damage or lost in the move. Runners were put down everywhere to keep things safe and clean. All furniture was put into the rooms requested. Thank you Stephen, Steve and Jason.

Horrible move, no attention to detail or the needs of the customer. NEVER AGAIN. Items "lost" or simply voided without our confirmation. Refused to discuss rationally instead screamed and made false accusations. Thankfully it's over with.
