Warranty Work

Had Norm Banks come out for a warranty claim. As usual, very professional, always on time and left with a positive result. Would not hesitate to recommend this company in the future.

No Respect for Customers' Time

Our repair required 2 service calls, both scheduled to occur between 12 and 4pm. Both times, the technician called ahead of time to confirm when he would arrive. In the first case, he corrected the time to 4pm or 4:30, and then showed up at 6:30. The second visit he confirmed that he would arrive between 1 and 3, then called back once he had missed that window, and rescheduled for a time outside the 12-4 window again (4:30). It is now 6:30pm and I have been waiting for him since 1pm.

In both these cases I had to take the afternoon off work to be home for the service call. Apparently this company is so poor at scheduling that after several years in business they are still unable to assign an appropriate number of calls to a technician each day, or hire technicians who are able to tell time. That, or they simply lack any respect for their customers' time. If you ask me it's all of the above.

We are very sorry to hear you had a poor experience.
Here at Platinum we do our very best to maintain a 'next day service' level of scheduling. Most major appliance companies in this area book appointments two weeks out. We realize that our customer's time is important, and how much we all rely on our appliances in this day and age, hence why we book next day. We do such a high volume of calls as Whirlpool Canada's Top Servicer in Western Canada, that we cannot possibly fit everyone in between 8:00-12:00 or 12:00-4:00. Those time frames are *requests* provided by Whirlpool, which we do accommodate 90% of the time.
I have spoken to the technician who serviced your appliance, he is apologetic. His account of the events is, yes, he was late for your diagnosis appointment and showed up around 6:00 to which you denied him access as it was too late. This is understandable as that is dinner time and everyone has plans. He states in efforts to make up for his tardiness he returned the next day and worked around your work schedule, coming after 5:00. We then submitted his diagnosis report to Whirlpool, who agreed to cover the part on your out of warranty washer. Upon scheduling a parts appointment, he advised you that he would do his best to come between 1:00-3:00 but that with the volume of calls he had that day, he did not think he would be there before 4:00. At 2:00 he called to let you (and his other afternoon appointments) know that due to traffic and construction in the surrounding area, he was an hour behind for several appointments.
We here at Platinum do not condone excessively late appointments on the regular. We employ fifteen other technicians all over the Lower Mainland/GVRD and they manage to schedule their calls in a seamless and timely manner. Our management team will be meeting with this technician to discuss time management and expectations.
Our team here in the office was unaware you were experiencing difficulties, we would have made every effort to ease the experience for you if we had known there was an issue. However, when it comes to traffic we unfortunately can only do so much.
Again, we are sorry your experience was below standards, and we are using your feedback to alter the way we schedule our appointments in the future.

Happy wife!

Rave! These guys are the best! Quick response time, for a warranty job, arriving promptly at estimated time, friendly, fast service! I highly recommend platinum appliance services! I will definitely use platinum appliance services for future repairs! Thanks again!

Stove (Jenn Air ) oven not working

Unable to turn on oven. Phoned number in stove Manuel and was told to turn power on and off which I did with no results. Arranged visit from platinum service who also checked power source but waited for power disconnect for at least 2minutes and ‘wow’ stove worked. I am delighted I did not have to get a new stove and also learned to be a little more patient if I have a similar problem in the future

Excellent Service

I just wanted to write a review today as the service from one of Platinum service technician was awesome. He was very professional and explained everything to me on how the machine works etc. Also gave me some good tips. Thank you(believe his name was Norm). Would recommend this local company.

Fridge repairs

On time and did the job

I bought a new fridge that was making loud and frequent noises from the time it was delivered. Fortunately the noises occurred when the technician was here and he identified where they were coming from and fixed the problem. It was quick and simple. The service man arrived on time and did his job efficiently.

Dishwasher repair

Our washing machine stopped working one day in the middle of a cycle. It would not agitate or drain.
I called Platinum and they came the next day, I was not home so I left the technician a key.
He ordered in the part and my washer was back up and running within a few days.
Friendly and efficient service, I recommend them to any friend needing an appliance fixed.

The worst customer service of my life

My just over 1 year old dishwasher was defective and I made the mistake of going to Platinum Appliance. They dispatched Jason, whom others here have complained, who showed up and within minutes of arrival, stormed out of the house without completing the repair. Reason: he was bothered by our friendly puppy who was simply happy to see him. We immediately locked up the dog but Jason refused to come back. Even my cleaning lady was assuring him he would not be a problem and he rudely scorned her "who are you???" To add insult to injury, they have the gall to send me a bill for the service that was not performed. Attempts to deal with it at the time involved staff refusing to get Jason on the line, but sending him text messages instead. After 3 calls begging them to please have him come back – I had booked the morning off work for Jason’s appointment – they told me “he has already left the area.” What a joke. Attempts to deal with any sort of manager was not successful – “Dale” is the manager in question but staff refuse to give his email or take a message for call back. If you care about good customer service, say “no” if you are faced with the sad prospect of dealing with this incompetent company.

NEVER AGAIN - STAY AWAY FROM PLATINUM APPLIANCE.

Sir, I remember this situation clearly, in early January of this year. At the time of the incident you were not home, only your wife and cleaning person. Your version of the events is not entirely clear. Our technician suffers from back pain and your dog not only jumped on him in greeting, but also stepped on him several times while he was on the floor attempting to look at the dishwasher. At this point the technician decided he could not continue his repair attempts any longer, and only then did your wife offer to put the dog away.
I myself offered several times to have another technician come to your house before noon that day, as I could not convince the technician to come back again. You refused that option, stating that you had another company already coming. I tried to rectify the situation, you would not allow me to.
As for our service manager, he is very busy and is rarely in the office as he completes deliveries during the day, and it is our job in the office to field the complaints that go to him and handle them accordingly. We did take a message for our manager, but since you called back several times in a matter of ten minutes, he had not yet been given the message as he was out of the office at the time.
The charge for service comes directly from Whirlpool, who you contacted for service. We are just contracted by them. The service call is owed to Whirlpool Canada for having a technician come to the home. If you have any issues with the amount owing, you can contact them directly at 1-800-807-6777.
