Relocation from Toronto to Vancouver

With Two Small Men, I had a few hiccups at first and it took a little longer and cost slightly more than expected but in the end, a perfect move. Nothing damaged and everything accounted for.
Barb, in the office, is superb.
Looking back, well worth every penny.
Very satisfied.

Moving My house

Only two movers came and took their time moving, they did not look in the greatest shapes (beer bellies). I seen a few of resting several time, and stalling. It took nearly 9 hours to move between my old place and new place of 4 blocks. They also got lost when they "forgot to turn" which added time to the cost. In general, they were inefficient.

Moving

Moving with that was okay. The movers weren't too friendly but they got the job done. My move was pretty small (not many heavy furnitures or valuables) so it was good enough for me.

BRITISH COLUMBIA TO oNTARIO MOVE

If you plan on using ANY of the Two Small Men with Big Hearts FRANCHISES, don't turn and walk away...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN before they make eroneous statements to you, scam you or verbally abuse you. These are ALL franchises and they do nothing more than subcontract your move to another moving company and charge you a premium for this.

I had booked a move for my son from B.C to Ontario. A price per pound was given to a certain weight and after that the price per pound was to drop. After my items were loaded, a weight was given to me by the subcontracted driver (who was pleasant enough). This weight was almost double of what I had expected and estimated by Glen at the B.C office and resulted in an additional ~$2000. On subsequently speaking with the driver, he indicated that no one from TSM moving mentioned anything about a reduced rate over the 2000 lbs limit. I called the B.C office several times and they advised they couldn't get ahold of the driver to advise him of the reduced rate...for 3 days... even though every time I called the driver he answered...unbelievable. As I had to make arrangements for an out of town bereavement in the family, and could not personally meet the truck, I asked Glen to call the driver to advise him of the reduced rate so I could leave the funds with a close family friend when the driver arrived. He got very angry and told me "You are going to pay the F'G full rate when the driver arrives. I don't F'G care and I'm not going to F'G call him either. If you don't have the F'G cash when the driver F'g shows up, I'm going to put your F'G stuff in storage and you will never see it again". He used the "F" word many times as he was yelling at me. As by this point I had Glen on the speaker phone at home, several people witnessed his exact comments. He then hung up and would not answer the phone when I called back or return my calls.

I then called head office in Winipeg and relayed this series of events to Barb, who identified herself as the office manager, and requested a verbal apology from Glen himself for the verbal abuse I sustained from him. She indicated she would advise Rosario who owns the company, who would then investigate and call me back. It was been almost a week and I still have not recieved any call back or an apology from Glen whatsoever.

THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! NEVER EVER USE IT!!!

Luckily, the subcontracted driver agreed to honour the rate I was originally quoted. I still paid approximately $2000 over the estimate I was originally given by the TSM office. At that price, it would have been better to donate the items to Goodwill and any consumable items to the local food bank and buy everything new when we arrived in Ontario.

I would NEVER use TSM again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. Anyone doubting may google the CBC news for complaints.

I wish I had read the reviews and did my homework before booking... it is a lesson learned.

Moving furniture purchased at auction

I recently went to an auction in Vancouver as a local furniture store went bankrupt and I was hoping there would be some great bargains. I was fortunate to be able to get some great deals and needed a company to move the furniture to my house. Called this company as I see there trucks all over town. The receptionist was polite and I was able to book a truck immediately. Two strong men showed up at the auction company within a few hours and they loaded up all the furniture I purchased. All items were wrapped in blankets and secured properly. At my residence the items were moved inside without any damage. I was very happy with the service and professionalism of this company and will definitely use them again.

moving

I was moving from coquitlam to richmond a few months ago, and I chose this company because I always see their trucks around town. They are very nice people and they are careful with the stuff they are moving. I wouldn't have been able to move everything in my house without them. The cost was reasonable considering that it was a far distance move.

moving

We used this company when we moved into our current home. This involved a full day of moving boxes from both our temporary rental home and also, moving the majority of our items from the storage unit. We have two pianos (upright and grand) and we had a positive experience with this company. They were very careful and we had no scratches/dents to the pianos. They were courteous, professional and hard-working and we would consider using their services again, if required.

Move from Vancouver to Calgary

Guys picked up our stuff in Vancouver. The mover in charge had the audacity to mention we should tip movers lest our stuff will arrive smashed up. He even said we should tip in advance. Estimated arrival in Calgary was 3 to 5 days. In Calgary, stuff showed up in 10 days after numerous phone calls. The thing is: you book 2 Small Men with Big Hearts, but they just subcontract your move to some other company. Anyway, the dispatch gave us the weight of our stuff. When it finally arrived, the weight was 300 pounds greater. They wouldn't unload our stuff unless we paid the price of this new, inflated rate. All our plates were smashed, cabinets smashed, chairs were not wrapped and were filthy. Furthermore, most of the boxes had no stickers on them so there was no way of referencing off the sheet from the pick up. So I'm out a box of knifes, coffee maker and assorted other kitchen stuff. The guys lifting the boxes were fine, but the company is complete garbage. We hired 2 small men, and then when we phoned to find out where our stuff was the dispatch says, "sorry, I don't know. You have to phone this other company that we hired to perform the move." COMPLETE DECEPTION. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Moving house furniture

My family used this moving company years ago. All in all, Two Small Men with Big Hearts could have been better and could have had bigger hearts when it came to being careful with my piano - a family heirloom. We would not choose this moving company again. Be sure to go with a company you trust when choosing movers -both trust in providing quality service and trust in rectifying any issues that might arise.
