Geothermal heatpump

I was having serious issues with my ClimateMaster Geothermal heatpump. First company I called could not resolve the problem and advised to replace the pump with new one (9000$). When I called Dennis he found a way to fix the pump instead of replace it. His exceptional knowledge in complex heating equipment and integrity saved me 7000$. Also, Dennis went an extra mile for me when accidentally I had a not related pluming problem. He was checking on the heat pump when it happened. He found and fixed the pluming problem right away. I was very pleased working with Dennis so I asked him to do his magic on my pool heating system.

Complete Closed Loop Geo Thermal System

Just completed our 4th winter with the Polar Bear system in our new build 3500sq ft home. With the record sustained cold temps this winter I felt compelled to write a review. The Polar Bear system designed, built and installed by Dennis performs as he promised. Dennis and team provided the full service install including ducting design\install, 6.5 TON W.S.H.P, 5000ft of loop, HRV, Humidification, and supplemental hot water system. Winter or Summer, all floors are at an even, balanced, sustained temperature. We maintained an even 72(22) all winter and the system performed perfectly. Unlike other systems I'm aware of, the Aux electric heat never kicks in and we could have easily kept the house warmer if desired. Operating costs are extremely low when compared to similar homes using gas\oil\electric. I spoke to a lot of vendors when researching a geothermal system, hands down Dennis is the most knowledgeable out there and builds a well engineered system with quality components. Had few minor equipment problems during the initial season, but all were covered without question under warranty and resolved satisfactorily. Finally, if you have technical questions or need support, the Engineer who designed this system always answers his phone. Thanks Dennis.

geothermal furnace

Purchased a geothermal furnace from Polarbear inccluding install. Furnace works great but service is terrible. Have to continue to call to get someone to come out. Everything was coivered under warranty as it was a manufacturing defect, but took a long time to solve the problem.

Open-Loop Water Source Heat Pump (Geothermal) System

When selecting a provider for the HVAC system in our 5000 sq ft home, with vaulted ceilings throughout, I did research over the internet and contacted all of the re-sellers of large US brands. Since they were all really in equipment sales, none of them could give any useful advice on the design aspects of a complete home comfort system. When I met Dennis Campbell of Polar Bear, he impressed me with his extensive knowledge and passion for acheiving the best fit between system performance, in terms of personal comfort, and hardware cost.
Dennis helped design the ducting layout after convincing me that a water-to-air system would deliver as comfortable a system as a radiant in-floor system could. Plus we wanted airconditioning and radiant in-floor doesn't provide cooling. He also provided advice on insulating.
The cost of our system included the entire supply and installation of the heat pump itself, duct work, water heaters, HRV, humidifier and it runs off our 350 ft deep well. I had other quotes up to $80,000; not including the duct work. The system is Certified through the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition.
After three years of operation, the features of the system that we are most satisfied with are the even temperature in all three levels of the house, how quiet the system is and of course, the low cost of operation. There are no cold zones in winter and no hot ones in summer. I'd say that the difference in temperature between floors is rarely more than one degree. Unless of course we want to close off ducts to change the temperature ourselves. We also have to listen very closely to determine if the furnace or a/c is running or not.
We've had two system failures, one caused by a plumber turning the wrong valve and the other when a capacitor failed. Both problems were looked after promptly and covered by warranty.

geothermal heat pump

Polar Bear (Dennis Campbell) installed and provided expert service to the heat pump for our geothermal ground loop system. The machine has worked as well as we had hoped, and provides heating and cooling to our house without interruption for over 2 years now. The heat pump is a robust unit and provides excellent hot water augmentation as well. Performance expectation surpasses other units available on the market.

lake loop geothermal instalI

From the first visit too job completion, Chris and Len of ModTech HVAC Service made my geothermal requirements job look easy! After having a bad geothermal experience in the past (extremely high energy bills) I did extensive research this time. I meet with Dennis from Polar Bear WSHP Inc. and he explained to me the importance paying for the proper size of equipment up front and saving the huge energy bills later. My polar Bear unit has saved me money!!

Geothermal Heating & A/C, Closed Loop

Polar Bear Installed our horizontal closed loop system in July 2008. After the initial trouble with the system it has been working very steadily during the last winter (2009) and so far this winter.

We haven't had any issues with the heating or A/C since Dennis (owner) corrected the problem.
