Mattamy Homes

Some of the people that they hire such as the painters, dry-wall and trim does such a horrible job. Moved into my house and started to notice so many things that i know if they took a little bit of extra time that it would not look like a five year old did the job. Getting them to come back to re-due the jobs after your post close visit is like pulling teeth. I guess you get what you paid for when it comes to Mattamy Homes.

DO NOT BUY FROM MATTAMY. Worst quality built homes. We bought our house from Monarch Homes, but unfortunately Mattamy bought them out while our house was in process of being built. Mattamy took over building the house and I was very disappointed. The quality of the Monarch homes by far outshine the Mattamy homes. A friend of mine bought the same house but was built by Monarch....workmanship was better. After we got our house, the quality shows and the workmanship was terrible. Lots of little things here and there not complete or missing. Had to call customer service so many times to have them come back to fix things. Worst part, their customer service is horrible. They never return emails or phone calls and when you call them, it automatically goes to the voicemails saying they are too busy to answer the phone. What kind of customer service dept is this if you can't even answer phone calls? VERY FRUSTRATING.....

I would give 0 stars if I could.

My family has been a long buyer of Mattamy homes. Over the years, we have seen the quality of their homes go down. Recently I had the "honour" to witness corruption and sheer stupidness at their Milton Sales Office. Apperantely this office wants you to handle their admin work for them. What do I mean by that? On September 9th at 10am there was suppose to be registration for new project. My father i went to stand in line on September 8 roughly around 8pm. We sat there for a good 4 hours before finding out there is an unofficial list being passed around that is being handled by an unauthorized individual. I never signed it because it was not authorized by Mattamy. Over 150 people followed to put their names on this sheet like good little sheep without even asking who authorized. To my dismay the next day this was confirmed by one of the Mattamy representative who works at the Milton Office location that they will honour that list because in the past they have noticed this works out better than having to deal with a "black Friday" situation on registration day. I am sorry if this works in so well then why did you not formally leave a notice at you office doors for people coming in after to know if this "new" process you have embraced? And then he tells me its first come first serve? SO someone can line up 4 days before put their name on a list they created, get it approved by one of your Mattamy reps then go home and force other people to follow your list and if they don't then you have no say? Are you serious? Oh also, isn't it great that these people on this list had to just come in every 3 hours for attendance and then just get to leave until the next attendance while there were people who were out in the cold for 12+ hours. What about these people? Hey Mattamy Milton Sales office how about you try using your process that you have in place ex. your token system where you hand out tokens to people OFFICIALLY! OR how about the way your Mattamy Brampton Sales office did it where they made an OFFICIAL list and stuck it on their front door to show people on later these people will have priority during the day of registration and that you are more than welcome to stay and wait! Why would i discuss how to deal with "Black Friday" style registration days amongst other potential buyer?! When it is your job as the seller to set in rules for situations like that Mattamy! WORST sales office ever. Yes lets all create our own rules and regulation and have it honoured by some employer who proceed to leave without putting out appropriate notification and awareness. I have never met such poorly managed anything. We are coming to potentially buy HOMES! There is better strategic approaching taken in lower-end retail stores! I would be embarrassed being associated with a place such as Milton Mattamy homes in any way.

We knew it was going to be a horrible experience when, on the day of our walk through, we were told there was a homeless person living in our home. That's okay. At least he had a place to stay for the night, and he is more respectable than anyone at "Mad at me" homes. There were several things wrong with our home, but we had time to address those wrongs. However, when the time came to address the issues, the folks at "Mad at me" homes stated everything was within allowances. Even the house which was built next to us takes away the curb appeal of our home, and after careful research, we found out the wrong elevation of our home was submitted to the city for approval to build the home next door. We filed a complaint with the city, but the "good 'ol biy mantality is clearly visible. You know, "scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours." If you're going to purchase a home, DO NOT purchase from "Mad at me" Homes. These people will leave you high and dry, and there is not a thing that you can do, but hire an attorney. These people need to stay in Canada.

We bought the new built home from Mattamy and the closing date was in Sept 2016. By looking back, starting from the pre-delivery inspection, I can tell something must be wrong with this company. During the pre-delivery inspection, the service lady tried to talk as minimum as possible. I could feel apparently she was not happy whenever I found defects and flaws. She would just became expressless, to create awkward moment around you, to make you uncomfortable to stay there. She even complained why I paid "too much attention" to "cosmetic" things. At the end she only allowed us to address 7 items and wrote them down on the pre-delivery confirmation. And then your real trouble of dealing with them just started.
They would just try to push you away. Even you filed 30 days report with Tarion, they would just try to ignore and skip you by not replying your email or giving you all kinds of excuses.
There are several major defects they left un-repaired without any following up with us. I've been chasing them from Dec 2016 to now, the end of Aug 2017!!!! At first they denied it to be defect, for example the detached eavestrough, until I got on to the roof by myself and took the picture where the defects. Then their warranty service manager came and told me he was so surprised to see such defects and blamed his staff for not notifying him in time, and gave me a deferral letter and promised to get them repaired by end of this April 2017. Then they just DISAPPEAR like being evaporated. Absolutely no following up. I tried to be polite and not pushing them, but even you began to lose patient and start pushing them, they just DON'T CARE!!! They reluctantly threw me couple of emails in between whenever I started to lose patience with them. But their replies were always like "sorry I was sick for the last week", "the weather was bad", "will be onsite these coming months", etc. those kind of bull sh*t, and then still never showed up. I really doubt the company Mattamy really exist, or maybe they only exist in the cyber world... There are too much like those to complain about this company. Terrible terrible terrible terrible experience with Mattamy. I just couldn't believe they are one of the biggest home builder in NA. How come?! I feel you can just throw any words on them. But, they just simply DON'T CARE!!! Or maybe, really , actually they don't exist!!!

I didn't have any major issues that were not resolved. Overall experience was good. I was really looking for location. Minor issues were squeaking area top floor by laundry area, gutters leaking, shadowing on ceiling. I would recommend Mattamy Homes.

Renting a house in the Downsview park area. Not sure if this cheap crap is standard for Toronto but this company is seriously lacking in the skilled trades department. The ventilation they installed has the whole house filled with constant noise. I've talked to Mattamy on 5 separate occasions and all they give me is the "We'll be right over tomorrow to check things out"...it's been 3 weeks since we first talked to them. They also forgot to install a bathroom downstairs and had no idea the house wasn't finished when we mentioned it to them. Aside from that you can't even park in your own garage because the streets are filled with SUVs since the garages aren't sized appropriately at all. Terrible company with terrible customer service. I wouldn't buy a shed from these people.

I came upon this community as a drive by as i had sold my home and cancelled my new condo build with DR Horton for lack of quality work and professionalism...I met with Christina in the sales office and she was a joy and made my new home purchase a possibility once again. The team was professional and Patrick the builder as well as Christine were always accessible every step of the way... Since moving in I am totally loving my new home and while I have lived in this county for over 9 years I now finally love it here as i got not only a great builder team but an amazing group of neighbors...i finally feel I can call St Johns my home! Thank you Mattamy team!!!!

Extremely disappointed in the workmanship, specifically the brickwork right at the front porch of the house! Work does not meet the Construction Performance Guidelines and it's been a painful process in getting it fixed properly through the warranty process. I understand cutting costs where possible - this is a business after all, but I didn't expect my house not to meet the requirements! Lost all faith in Mattamy... would not recommend buying from this builder.
