Just a quick note to say thank you for your excellent service, my items all
arrived in Toronto on time and in perfect condition. Still busy getting settled in, however I have already referred a friend of mine in Calgary to your company, he will be calling/emailing you to get a contact who can provide the same professional service that you guys did.

Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks for staying in touch! Your company is THE BEST, and not just among movers. You should be the template new businesses study before they open their doors. Your customer service is excellent and consistent among every employee I dealt with. I was able to speak to a human whenever I called and when I did, they were able to access my file instantly and answer my questions. If I emailed, I was replied to promptly. The fellows who actually moved me were professional, careful and ON TIME!! They hadn't worked as a team long either but you wouldn't have known it. I recommend you every chance I get and would rebook with you, no question.

Whatever you're doing, keep it up because some of us know and appreciate the difference between fair and fabulous!!

Cheers and a belated Happy New Year!

Thanks for your letter of July 22. I am glad I chose your company for our move: your rates were reasonable, your service efficient and prompt, and your personnel (especially Jerry, the truck driver) friendly and competent. Overall, GCVL eased a lot of our stress inevitable in such big moves.

I will recommend you unhesitatingly to my friends, and would myself choose you for any future moves.

Great company with very professional employees, we shopped around and found them to be competitive and very organized and on the ball. Highly recommend their services. Nothing broke, they arrived on time and were very courteous.

the guys were friendly and the service was good. However they damaged an antique piece and it took about 3-4 months to finally settle on compensation. The company wanted to pay me the money it was worth and then come pick up the piece to give to the driver. Very bizarre!?!?!

Company Response

We apologize that a piece did in fact get damaged. Our policy is clear if you pay a premium for insurance coverage and we damage an item and your policy is a Replacement Policy, we remove the damaged item and replace it with a new or like item.
On behalf of the crew that damaged it and Great Canadian Van Lines we do apologize that this damage occurred.

More about Great Canadian Van Lines

Great Canadian Van Lines was conceived in the late 1980’s and commenced operations in Calgary, Alberta in 1990. The company relocated to the greater Vancouver area in 1992 and has operated from this area for the over 25 years.

Great Canadian is one of the six major van lines operating in Canada and was established because one of the original start-up partners (Mark Valliant) determined there was an opportunity in the long distance moving market within Canada. The existing van line business within Canada had complicated pricing systems, long delivery spreads, and an insurance system that benefited long distance moving companies but not the end customer. So Mark and his team built GCVL on three principles:

Our Pricing System - was developed so rates could be provided quickly, were self explanatory, and most importantly – affordable.

Faster Delivery Times – We determined that delivery spreads (the number of days it took your goods to be delivered) were too long in the industry. So we created more direct routing and scheduling. This allows us to deliver goods faster than most carriers in Canada.

Valuation Premium (insurance) – To better protect your goods and to ensure their safe arrival, we developed a unique program with our agent / drivers. They are paid the majority of the valuation premium (insurance component of your moving charges with us) as an incentive to protect your goods. If your goods arrive safely they retain these funds and are thus paid a bonus for taking greater care. This results in happy customers and the lowest claim ratio in Canada.

We provide all of our customer with a Moving Process and a Customer Responsibility Form. These documents were designed with you in mind, and to help to guide you through each step of the moving process. Our job is to make sure you understand all of the important steps of your relocation from start to finish.
