It is a rare occasion when you encounter a sales person / company that operates with "old-fashioned" honesty and integrity in identifying the root cause of your troubles. This often requires involves some detective work based on experience.

The initial site visit from salesperson Roy Warren was both refreshing and uncommon in that he spent time to diagnose the situation (providing valuable insight) and made a recommendation (replace sliding doors first) that did not result in a quick sale. In fact, his suggestion may not result in any revenue for him or his company.

I am highly appreciative for his approach and I gladly recommend Roy and Clarke Basement Systems as a result.

Fitz and Josh arrived a half hour before schedule and were very professional in their approach to the project. We had experienced a number of leaks in the fall but due to recent rains, the leaks and cracks had increased. As a member of a condo, the property manager had to be involved and various approvals granted. The additional work was authourized and completed in the time scheduled without a return visit. Both Fitz & Josh worked well together and were very cognisant of the homeowner and wanting to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum. The process was explained in detail at all stages and the reasons for each stage. The work was completed in a timely fashion and the work area clear as much as possible.

I am the property manager for a gated community, whenever we have a water leak, I contact Roy of Clarke Basement to come out and provide us with an estimate. Roy makes it out to the site, usually within 24 hours to inspect the leak areas, provides me with information on the cause and promptly provides me with accurate pricing in order for me to inform the Board of Directors.

We then make arrangements with Fiona at Clarke's head office and schedule in a date for repair. This morning, we had 3 properties that needed repairs, at 9am Fitz & Josh of Clarke Basement were onsite, introduced themselves to the unit owner, laid down protective covering to keep the home clean. Repairs were completed in a timely, efficient manner, the final price was exactly what the quote price was and the properties were repaired to the owner and management's satisfaction.

After some very informative and friendly communications with Keith, both in person and by email, we signed the contract. The crew led by Rob was very professional, courteous and efficient. They kept the inevitable dust to a minimum during the installation of the insulation and the TBF wall system. The finished product looks great. They also installed a SaniDry dehumidifier to ensure a dry basement, since our next project is to fully finish it. Don showed a personal interest in the project with a visit during the installation, and one after the project's end. Thank you Don, Keith, Rob; well done.

Mr. Fitz the contractor, called up 30 minutes before the appointed time to inform he was on his way. He was punctual, courteous and his work was excellent. After finishing he cleaned up the area and left. All along, he explained in detail each step of his work and how it would help me.

I have had several leaks in one half of my basement. I called several companies before Clarke Basement Systems. They were the only ones who wanted to inspect the area before quoting me a price and they were the only company that came out when they said they would - guess what my time is valuable!!

Fitz was our repair technician and his helper Kevin were the ones who actually did the work and were great. Fitz explained the reasons for the leaks and why tha side of the house is exposed to more hydrolic pressure. He also took me outside of the house to explain how to reduce this.

Fitz an dKevin were on time, were very clean while doing the job and lept the basement area as clean as before the job. They expained the process in detail and since I had an active leak they should me the actual working syaem,.

The emplyees from Clarke , Rob , Josh & Noel were very punctual , the work seems professional & they were very nice to deal with . They cleaned up after themselves & were very informative . Its to bad the salesman Claude did not inform me we neeeded electrical work done for the sump pump & dehumidifier as i had the new furnace , air conditioner , hot tub pre wired before the installation date to avoid trades working in there after the fact .. Now i have extension cords running the above mentioned items & must get an electrician back .I must thanks Rob for leaving the extention cords & setting them up as i had none at the house . Time will tell if this solves our problem , but the work seems top notch .

After a big rainstorm we found a leak in 2 walls. Claude from Clarke Basements came and did a thorough job estimating and walked us through every step of the way. We were worried that we had to dig around our whole house, but instead Claude explained to us that building a "Fort Knox" around our house is impossible, as water will always find a way to get inside. He said it's better to manage the leak by have small trenches that channel the water down the plastic insulating wall panels, through the weeping tile and out through as Sump Pump. He was also clear in explaining to us that we can just do weeping tile in the main areas that are effected; if we have any water issues in another part of the basement, we can then extended the weeping tile with more work in the future.

He gave us several options; Clarke Basements have a complete print package and DVD that walks you through every step.

After we decided to go with Clarke Basements, Rob and his came and did a thorough job jack hammering and tearing down parts of walls so that the job is done in a top notch manor. We were happy Rob and his team doesn't believe in cutting any corners and at the same time we could tell they don't believe in gouging the customer. Rob and his team are real professionals, even with dealing in a positive way with our one annoying "know it all" neighbour.

They cleaned up quite nicely and made sure we knew that if we found any issues or if they missed anything, to give them a call right away. It's been about a week since the work has been done and as we start putting our basement furnishing back together we can still feel the quality of the workmanship and the pride that Clarke Basements puts in their work.

While Clarke Basements may not be the cheapest, they give you a reasonable price and great quality for peace of mind. Hire these guys for something as important as your basement as water leaks are not something you want to cut corners on.

I have had an on going drainage issue whereby the basement window well filled up with water when it rained heavily and overflowed through the window causing damage in a finished basement. This has been fixed professionally several times in the past without success. Keith and Noel from Clarke Basement Systems did an absolutely superb job digging down manually and I mean really down, installing drainage tubing, waterproofing material and loads of gravel. They worked very hard to rectify this problem and were friendly, communicative, knowledgable and efficient. I highly recommend this company. This is the second job I have hired them to complete and I am more than pleased with the service provided.

Fitz Wilkx came to fix a number of cracks in our foundation. A 2-3 hour job turned into an 8 hour job as there were 2 layers of cement and then sand (should be one layer of cement and then gravel). Fitz never complained about the extra work or time, he was only concerned about doing the job right to ensure we never had future issues in these areas. Even his cleanup exceeded expectations. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and let us know what he was doing and why the entire time.
