I contacted Mainly Mac after being told by another Mac shop (in my daughter's university town of Waterloo) that her 1 year old water damaged computer was finished. Mainly Mac immediately grasped the difficulty my university based daughter was dealing with and offered a loaner computer that I drove down to Waterloo. I picked up my daughter's damaged computer and drove it back to Mainly Mac. They phoned me a day later with the good news that indeed it could be fixed - and for what I felt was a reasonable price based on the work required. Not only did they fix it - but they double checked everything and also offered remote service so that my daughter could call on them with any issues. I would highly recommend Mainly Mac for their incredible above and beyond service, their expertise, their integrity, and their very kind, patient and helpful attitude. They truly care about their customers - and exemplify the qualities, values and professionalism that any business should aspire to. These guys are really top notch at what they do. It is a pleasure to know you can totally trust them with one of our most personal and important possessions. It is because of the great service they provided that I was inspired to write this review. I want others to have the same great experience.

Professional and extremely thorough - and I learned a lot about the thirteen year old home I just purchased from David and coworker Evan. When I moved in I immediately noticed how fast dust was accumulating - a normal event during a move - but it was the dark dust in the bathrooms and the filthy state of the vents that made me suspect that the ducts may never have been cleaned. Based on what came out of the ducts - construction wood and labels from ductwork dating back to 1998 - if they were ever cleaned -it was a haphazard job. Dave couldn't be sure from the state of the ductwork and any obvious holes from previous cleaning. When they made the holes for the vacuum, dust was falling out immediately. Dave and Evan started in the basement and drew a lot of dust from the ducts and then went from vent to vent with a high pressure compressor and blew the dust down again. They were extremely thorough on each stage of the cleaning. They then disinfected the vents and a very clean gentle odor permeated the house for a short time - and then disappeared. Dave then pointed out some major deficiencies with my duct work. The builder had only used one screw on each join versus the three that are meant to be used. Every join was going to need to be wrapped with tin tape as I was losing about 30% of my heat through the ducts. I could either have him do it - but suggested that I could easily do it for a lot less with a couple of rolls of tape to save some money. He also pointed out holes where wood was missing and causing more heat loss (my basement is unfinished) and a suggestion to bring my cold air return to the floor which would give me better efficiency as well. He also pointed out a gas pipe that should be added to further provide more efficiency. Next he worked on my Central Vac that had almost no suction. I didn't know if there was a problem with the unit or the pipes were just dirty. After he cleaned out the vac in the same manner that he cleaned the ducts - vent by vent - he did a further repair on the gun type handle that I discovered was broken when I moved into the house. The vacuum now had terrific suction and was super clean. Dave also took the time to take a look at the vent that had been installed in a cupboard over my microwave and gave me the bad news that neither the electrical was up to code and the venting was very poorly done. (Which is why I asked him in the first place to look at it - as it looked like a makeshift job to me) Dave immediately saw problems that my home inspector should have caught. As a single woman buying a home, I really depended on the home inspector to find all the deficiencies. He did find some - but this is now the second issue in a few short weeks that I have discovered he missed. All I can say is a big thank you to Dave as his suggestions will save me big time on my gas bill, and I already know I won't be spending huge amounts of time trying to keep on top of the dust with a central vac that was picking up none of it. They were both extremely courteous and took the hoses in through a basement window so they weren't sitting on hardwood floors. I really appreciated that. Evan even nailed a missing downspout back together for me - just because he noticed it had fallen off. How nice is that? They spent about three and a half hours completing the job - so you know right there that they were doing the job to perfection. I have to thank Homestars once again for a terrific lead on a company that gave me professional, thorough, excellent quality workmanship. I highly - highly recommend them. I am so happy that I won't be breathing in anymore of the dirt they hauled away with them. If you want the job done properly - you must call Dave and Evan. Thanks guys for all your help...

I felt like my best friends helped me move to my new home. When I met Maria for the first time I felt that nothing you could throw at this woman would stress her out - and that was important to me - as I knew my move was going to be stressful any way I looked at it. I was moving from a very large home that I had lived in for 19 years to a home less than half the size - had not had the time to get rid of much - and complications leading up to the move had left little time for packing. The job would involve a two day move - and at the 11th hour I needed packers to help. Maria had six men there versus the two originally planned - and the nicest guys you could possibly hope to meet. The team was led by Cormack - who kept his cool and calm through what I imagine was one of the more difficult and stressful moves they had encountered. I truly do not know what might have happened if I had not had such an incredible team of people working with me during what eventually turned out to be a three day move. The whole team went above and beyond the call of duty - and I will be forever grateful for the compassion, concern, and caring they all exhibited during an extremely difficult time. This is a company you can count on in every way - with that rare quality so hard to find these days. They REALLY DO CARE about their customers. I thank Homestars for helping me find this company. I highly recommend Viktoria Professional Services. They truly are professional in every aspect, and thank them once again for their understanding and kindness during some very difficult days.

What I hoped would be a quick fix for a leaky shower faucet and a check of my water pipes for arrival of a new stacked washer and dryer became a little more complicated. Fortunately I had called Canada Wide Plumbing and averted a problem that could have been a disaster had I tried myself to turn off the main water valve in an emergency as they were seized. I had just moved into my home and called Flavio based on reviews on Homestar. Flavio responded immediately and was available the following day. As it turned out, the pipes for the washer were a quick fix, but Flavio suggested he check the entire system for potential issues. Thankfully he did and handled having the water turned off by the Town of Richmond Hill immediately in order to replace the seized valves and averted a flood in my basement. He also begged and pleaded to get the water turned back on the same day for me - as this was an unexpected turn of events (no small feat these days where the township can leave you waterless for a day or so without a scheduled appointment). Through it all, Flavio and Matt were so helpful, personable and just really great guys. Because I trusted them, I decided to move forward with getting them to install a waste disposal for me at the same time. He also got my humidifier going and gave me instructions on how to set it for winter and summer. The guys were with us for a day and a half - and Flavio did everything he could to make the final bill as reasonable as possible given the excess time not planned and the waiting required for the water to be turned off and on again. I would hire Flavio again in a New York moment. He is fair, honest, and did not take advantage of my situation which as a single mom I appreciated very much. As well, he is just a very warm, caring human being - and feel fortunate that I contacted him because of the great reviews he had on Homestars. If you are looking for a plumber that is responsive, detailed, honest and gets the job done right - Flavio is definitely your guy. (Thanks Flavio and Matt for all your help)
