Daimon and his crew at Ashlar completely re-did the front and back yards of our downtown Toronto house: stone path and garden beds in the front, patio, path and car port in the back. They did great work. Everyone clearly takes pride in their work. Daimon was honest, fair and reasonable with costs and was always careful to make sure that we were working within our budget while also working towards the best result possible. Our outdoor space is 100% better. We would recommend Ashlar to anyone.

Jim was the constant voice of reason on a difficult job involving re-footing a supporting column and fixing the stone arch at the entrance to our Victorian house. His solutions to problems are informed by his deep knowledge of his trade and with an eye to financial and other practicalities. We came to value not only his expertise, but also his professionalism and integrity. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any project.

Paul, Yours was one of the more challenging of the residential projects we have completed and getting to know you and your wife personally over the duration of the work was a real pleasure. Thank you for letting us restore your home to its former 1880's glory.

The guys and M&R did a great job on our Victorian era slate roof. Other roofing companies recommended that we replace it for close to twice the price. M&R provided a good quote and completed the work on a timely basis.

Paul, thanks for reviewing us on Homestars and your mention of other companies price points. We do not compete on price but, on value. Others prices are generally much higher because very few companies specialize in slate installation thus, their limited installation experience and lack of trained slate installers results in uncertainty of labour and other costs during pricing. This uncertainty translates into higher pricing to cover potential margin of errors. We have installed slate on many Victorian era homes roofs and thus have great experience and certainty.
