My husband first contacted this company last year in September when I heard scratching in the upstairs bathroom washroom. My husband thought it was nothing. I once again awoke to hear noises in the ceiling on the top floor. He just told me it was just nail pops. Finally he awoke to the noise and believed me. He called Kevin and he got back to us right away. We HAD mice that he said were probably built into the house when it was first constructed (we have a wood lot). Kevin left some poison and outdoor bait stations and promised to return in a month. He did and the poison was all gone so he threw some more. He returned a third time to give us peace of mind. He came back as promised, FREE of charge the next year, and took pictures to show us that the situation is resolved. HE advised us to do some outdoor work to secure common entry points and we did. We appreciate his professionalism and thank him for his diligence. Our kids know him as our 'MOUSE MAN'. Thank you and we will call you for any future pest treatment situations.

Company Response

Thanks for your review Anna, The general public and so many misdirected companies feel that mice can be eliminated by blocking holes. No one can seal mice out of a home...They breed slowly over decades/ years within the attic and walls feeding upon insects. When the population reaches critical mass, they begin showing themselves within the Kitchens and basements/garages of homes. Mice must be eliminated from with the structure, reducing breeding populations until all evidence is gone. The process can take weeks months or in some rare cases even years of steady treatments. Yearly or bi yearly treatment will insure rodents are kept under control or eliminated. Never listen to anyone who claims they block mice. Its an outright lie. To inspire the public to buy. I am ashamed of our industry for all of those who mislead the public using false information.

Richard was professional from the first day he came to give us a quote until the end of our project. Richard was not overly pushy and encouraged me to start with one project at a time to see how the home progressed. He suggested we start our project with the crown moulding and we took his advice. I then asked him to wainscot the hallway, dining room and staircase. It looks great --- no regrets! Richard worked quick, clean ( all cuts done outside) and accurately. He even asked for my advice when there were multiple ways of finishing the woodwork. He listens to you (the homeowner) but also ensures the work is done so it 'looks right'. He is very, very punctual and flexible with days he is available. Once you schedule an appointment he even gives you a courtesy call to remind you a few days earlier of his upcoming visit. I think Richard's work is worth the price (competitive). I am so satisfied with his work that he is back this Saturday to start another project (detailing my door frames) and maybe a even another project of adding headers above my door frames. My husband and myself are very happy we found Richard on Homestars, read his reviews and hired him. He is proud of his work and had no hesitation to invite us to a previous job site (of course with the homeowner's permission) to inspect. WOW is he hard working and honest! Don't hesitate to call him up to work in your home.

I am so glad my husband did the research on the wainscotting and crown moulding using the Homestars website! He found the fantastic duo of Richard from Unique Custom Mouldings and Paul from Crowning Touch Trim. Richard was professional and reliable from the first time we meet to when our project was complete. In 2 and 1/2 days (started work at 7:30 am and worked extremely hard the entire day) the 2 transformed a my standard builders home into one with some character. Richard was not pushy and suggested we work on my home one project at a time. He even allowed us to go inspect a previous project he worked on in the area. Richard asked my opinion on the approval of certain cuts that could be done multiple ways. The 2 men truly value and follow the homeowners words. Richard ensured to make courtesy phone calls to remind you of project start dates. The two installed crown on my main floor and in my high ceiling upper hallway with no difficulty. They then moved onto wainscotting the hallway and stairs. I am so happy with their quality of work that I am having Richard back to add some detail to my door frames. Paul was the veteran ensuring Richard's cut were near perfect and making suggestions to constantly improve on the project (all cutting done outside and very little mess inside the home). Paul even repaired our front door without asking and free of charge. He even fixed my jammmed hole puncher (LOL). Both men are diligent and intelligent. Paul is such a kind hearted man. Paul pays particular attention to detail. I would recommend either company without hesitation. Paul and Richard are the dynamic duo! Special Notes for Richard & Paul: p.s. It's all b/c of Richard's good looks that Paul is single. p.p.s. Their work truly looks better in the dark (Paul's balding head truly knows the feel of burning heat from potlights!)
