This is the second time that Joe has been called to our house to help Recently I heard sounds in our back room which is an addition on our house, and I saw that something was trying to get through our ceiling. I was quite concerned about an animal getting in the house and Joe came right away on a Saturday. I didn't hesitate in calling Joe again because the last time he was here I was extremely impressed and satisfied with the services. Again he did not disappoint. Over the years we have dealt with a few other companies and Joe is the most skilled I have ever seen. It's not the most pleasant thing to have to call the pest guy to deal with this sort of thing and I must say that we quite enjoyed having Joe at our house. He is extremely knowledgeable and is a great communicator. He helps develop clear and focused plans to deal with pests. Joe ended up finding a very hidden hole by accessing our roof off the neighbour's yard, where squirrels were getting in. Nothing stops this guy. He put up trapdoors and then came back exactly when he said to patch things up and even did a few other preventative measures around the house, that we asked him to do, without hesitating. I certainly don't want to have to call an exterminator but I have to say that having Joe in the house is like watching a reality TV show. He'd be great on reality show if there's any TV producers looking for a guy like this. I know that we are going to have to deal with pests here and there over the years in our old house so it really is comforting to know that we can call him. Joe is really committed to helping his customers. He doesn't give up on problem-solving. His prices are extremely fair and he is upfront about things.

The job was tricky because of snow and ice build up in the winter. There were also access issues to contend with however the neighbor was on board and the hole was found. The area was located in between two extensions and only visible from the neighbors back yard. Also, it was a tight squeeze and after removing the one -way door I used cement and closed the opening along withe one inch mesh. The mesh was fine however water and insects could easily penetrate the opening. Having dealt with many pests it has become all to common that wildlife guys that install mesh for raccoons and squirrels forget that other pests can get in via the 1 inch mesh areas left behind. Many times I will go to a home that had experienced a raccoon issue to now find they have mice a year later. Thanks guys.Joe

Early evening on a weekday night after typical business hours, my wife and I had a concern regarding a light in our back room - we had some safety concerns about it shorting out. Enrico called us back within minutes (we called another company that never called back at all) He listened to our multiple concerns and gave direction on what to do in the present moment. We communicated interest in booking a time for Captain Electric to come to the house. As stated by Enrico – we were contacted first thing in the morning by Diane who works in the office. She was very friendly but more importantly was able to quickly liaison with Enrico with some further questions and concerns and provide solid information with safety being the main focus. Diane explained the companies up front pricing and how things could proceed. Enrico came at the top end of the window we booked and Diane called shortly before he arrived as planned. Enrico sat with us and went through his and the companies’ credentials – untypical but I liked it and wish more trades would take time to do this; it’s nice to know who is working on your house. Enrico identified multiple possibilities before inspecting so we had a sense of best and worst case scenarios and how much it could cost based on the pricing chart. I loved the pricing and I had a clear sense of the high and low end of the problem we were having. Enrico was just a straight up nice guy, but more importantly clearly a safety focused experienced electrician. His inspection of the situation was detailed and he really thought things through. After he had a strong understanding of the problem and possible causes he presented our choices. One piece of what he did was putting in a Sp fault breaker which was a new thing to me; I did not feel like it was an upsell, because he gave such good information about the problem. This is a company that clearly cares about customer service, and is concerned that the customer is feeling safe and satisfied with the job. In the unlikely event we had a problem I have no doubt these folks would stand by their guarantee. I will call them back in the future and would recommend them to co-workers friends and family.

Company Response

Thank you DM, we appreciate your review. It is very important to us that we do the right thing for the client. Electrical Safety is of prime concern to us at Captain Electric. We talk about this all the time at meetings, and when we gather at coffee time......ARC Fault breakers are required in new home construction for specific circuits, but we will often recommend them in older homes in certain instances...... Explaining what to expect from a service call and a troubleshooting diagnosis is part of what we do. We believe it is your right as the homeowner to have these things explained, so you understand the service we are providing..... Thank you for calling Captain Electric. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

We had Ambia replace most of the windows on our semi-detached older home early in December. From the beginning to end I have been very happy with this company. Michael the sales person from the company is very knowledgeable, and gave an incredibly detailed presentation of his company and window choices. He was easily available for consults by my wife and I while we made a decision. Igor and his colleague who did the installation were very hard working, focused and knowledgeable. They were able to address concerns as they arose on an old house like ours and were very friendly during the job. Michael came by on the day of the install and went over the installation with my wife. One of the things I wanted from a company was to deal with people who would respond to any future concerns, as there are always a few things that need to be addressed in a big job. Michael and the owner Tony responded very fast and have proved to be a client focused company, executing excellent customer service. I wanted a company that I could trust if there were ever any concerns down the road and I have no doubt that they are that they are the type of company that will stick with us in the future if there are issues. The windows look awesome and have made huge difference in our home both in the winter and now in the spring. Our furnace was on far less and the house is much quieter. Thanks again Ambia!

Our front porch stairs were falling apart and I wanted them repaired before the winter. Frank was easy to reach and was able to do the work sooner than expected. He showed up early and problem-solved some issues with the porch and made a solid plan. Aside from the condition of the steps there was an unsafe part on the top he was able to remedy. He was focusedand did great work. Also he was patient with me as I am very detail oriented. He cleaned up well after the job. I am thrilled to have found someone with his skills and am more than comfortable having him come back to do more work at our house. I will be recommending him to our friends and neighbours.
