Based on long history of being a good Ottawa Company I did not check the reviews and had them come in to do an estimate. Around $2,400 which was lower than others. Paid a deposit of half and the window was scheduled to be installed a month to a month and half. 3 months later no news, I called and yes it has arrived they said and let's schedule for the following week. Day came, no show. Re-scheduled again no show and no call or explanation.
Note that you cannot call as they want you to email and they will call you which they never do. Must have sent 15 emails in a couple of months and no response.
I decided to show up at the office and met the so called Operations Manager and he promised an installation next week. Again no show, no call no explanation. The Operations Manager had given me his cell phone number so I called several times, no answer, I sent several text messages no answer.
I then sent an email and text saying that if there was no answer in the next 48 hours I was going to small claims court (Now mid January) to get a refund. No response.
I just happened to drive by with my spouse and we decided to stop and visit them. We showed them that we were also taping the conversation and that we were not leaving until our money was refunded.
After a real hassle with the so called Accountant on speakerphone and reiterating that this was taped and we were not leaving, an E-transfer was done. Waited for it to happen and then left. No sorry, they simply did not care. Please note that the deposit was an E-transfer. DO NOT DO AN E-TRANSFER IF YOU CHOOSE TO DEAL WITH THEM AS THERE IS NO RETURN LIKE THERE COULD BE WITH A CREDIT CARD.

CONSUMER BEWARE! The glass pane on my front door shattered in July, and I didn't have the luxury of shopping around glass companies - the name M&T stuck out to me so that's who I called and decided to go with. Big mistake. I paid a $500 deposit in July, and then was told month after month that it was a supply issue that was causing the delay. Fair enough, I can understand that. But then my installation finally gets booked, and I wait around all day, no one shows and no one answers my calls. Find out a few days later that "oh oops actually a part didn't come in yet", so they book me the following month. I cancel appointments to accommodate the time they gave me. That morning, they call to reschedule. Book it for the upcoming Saturday. I cancel all my plans again to accommodate, and they show up with the wrong glass. They told me I'd hear from someone Monday - that day comes and goes with no phone call, and no answers to my calls or email. It's now the end of November - 5 whole months since I paid my deposit. Repair still isn't done and no one is answering my calls or emails. The communication and customer service is horrendous. I wish I had gone somewhere else, and at this point I'm just hoping I can get my deposit refunded and try my luck somewhere else.

Like a lot of people, I saw the overall google rating, and didn't both checking recent reviews before putting a deposit down with them.
Quite frankly, this is probably the worst customer service & communication I have ever seen.

- August 17, I put down a deposit of $710 to replace a broken window, with an estimated installation time of 2-3 weeks

- About 5 weeks later without hearing from them, I call and they tell me they are getting my window in at the end of the week, and I'll hear from them Thursday

- No call that Thursday, so I call Friday and they(the general manager Ken) tell me that the order is now coming in October 4, which was a few weeks later, but that he'd make a note to call me and update me that day

- October 4 rolls by without hearing from them, so I call the next day, and am told the new delivery date(note, not installation) is now November 4(11 weeks from when I put my deposit down)

- I am quite upset, and they offer a 125$ discount

- The next day I call near the EOD and tell them I'm cancelling, I can't wait till winter for a new window. Receptionist says he'll tell the general manager, who will call me back

- The next day after that, I still haven't heard from them around 11, so I call and get the general manager immediately, who say's no one talked to him, but he'll check my file and get back to me within an hour

- 2 hours goes by, I call and he's in a meeting, so I leave a message to call me ASAP, but the receptionist tells me that they will cancel my order no matter what

- Another hour goes by, I call again, and after 15 minutes on hold, get ahold of the general manager, who, I kid you not, has no idea who I am, and says he needs to look at my file(again) and call me back(again)

At this point, I'm furious and tell him no way am I doing this again, and he say's I'll have to check your file and see if we can cancel and give you your deposit back, it might be too late.

I demand a refund, and he assures me he will send me an email confirming cancellation by the end of the day.

No refund or email comes in that day, so I called back the next morning.

The manager told me that they were unable to refund me yesterday because their accountant wasn't in, but said "the accountant is in today right now, for sure, it will be done today, don't worry".
No apology.

Called again at the end of the day and was told they couldn't refund me because the accountant wasn't in, despite what I'd been told the previous 2 times.
No apology.

Next day again still waiting on the refund, so I filed a dispute with Mastercard, which I have never done before, and don't expect I'll ever do again.

Never dealt with a company that has so little respect for it's customers.

I shocked to see the great reviews when I looked them up, but alas, they are from prior to the new owners taking over 5 years ago. In 5 years they have managed to run this business into the ground. They mismeasured every window in my house, broke a pane while installing a window bigger than the opening it was to fit, have twisted the truth at every turn and have needed to measure 5 times in order to cut a piece of glass for a bay window. Very sorry we went with this company.

M&T Glass provided excellent service in replacing 5 double glazed units in my aluminum windows. The units were ready 2 weeks EARLIER than expected, and were expertly installed in no time at all. There were 4 fellows in all who attended my home and each one could not have been more pleasant or more efficient. I am very impressed and highly recommend M&T Glass to anyone who needs the service.

We had a bad experience with another company and went with M & T Glass after reading many great reviews. Their service was quick and reliable. They were upfront with possible charges as well as offering different solutions to our situation. Their delivery and installation guys were courteous and made sure the glass was cleaned after they installed the replacement table top.

Absolutely fabulous company. Lots of explaining why their local glass is safer than the imports that can shatter. Great installation and follow up. Installers were neat and did a great job. Very trustworthy Ottawa firm.
