Nikolay's Flooring

We hired Nickolay to recap and "de-squeak" our stairs. Our stairs were super squeaky and carpeted before.

They came on Monday morning (on time) but it was POURING rain and I don't have a garage. They took all the materials back to their garage and stained and varnished everything there so that we didn't lose the day's work.
They came the next day and although they said it would take 2 days, they were finished EARLY and it only took one day.

His quote was exact and we didn't pay one cent more than what he quoted.

He also gave us an extra bonus by re-doing the nosing at the top of the stairs.

Communication with Nikolay was great from the start. I needed a section of the floor repaired from water damage. It’s an old floor ( thin wood slats probably from the 60’s). Nicolas was very accommodating with our schedule and as we had just moved they worked around the furniture without any issues. They did an excellent job. On the staircase they had to remove the old carpet and place new wood stairs and stained. We got several quotes from Nikolay for various work we needed done in the house. For budget reasons we ended up prioritizing refinishing the hardwood on our stairs and landing and fixing our door. Nikolay was excellent in communicating with us before making decisions for the job and was very accommodating overall. The stairs look amazing and the door finally works (we had other contractors look at it and tell us it could not be repaired). The stair sanding produced quite a lot of dust and they vacuumed for us before we came home. Nikolay even did some other odd jobs around the house for us for a very reasonable price.
