Carpet Installation

Endless processes to get the installation scheduled. An installer damaged my gutters and facia board and took off without saying anything. The carpet came with a big stain on it. Now it's another endless process just to get my gutters fixed and to get the soiled carpet replaced. This has been a total joke. No accountability.

Update: The installation company Advance took complete responsibility, my carpet was replaced and my gutters fixed...very happy now. Will use their, and Home Depots services again.

Install Garden Shed

Very Poor. Very Very Poor Service. They took 2 weeks to call me to schedule a date. Then They gave a me a date that was one month from that point. The guy came on that date and he said I had to clear up the site for him to start his job. He cancelled that appointment and asked me to reschedule it again. I have never seen such a bad service. never ever would a buy anything from here.

Home renovation

Did a home renovation, Home Depot reasonably good on the sales side although far from perfect. Installation - brutal.

Kitchen cabinets - one cabinet incorrect, one damaged, some of the design not as requested. A month after install, still waiting for the missing cabinet.

Flooring - installer measured incorrectly and did not have enough material, more would have to be ordered. Took 6 weeks for material to arrive in store but instead of being installed immediately, will have to wait 10 days until installer has time to do it.

Counters - store promises 2 weeks from time of templating until install. Counter company that HD contracts told me 3 weeks at time of templating. Person booking the installation then tells me 5 weeks, which they lower to 4 weeks when I complain. Install supposed to happen today between 11 and 1, at 12:30 company calls me to say that their truck broke down and they can not do the install until the following week (four working days later).

These are only the lowest of the lowlights, there have been more issues. The big problem is that HD does not have a way to deal with their contractors and issues after the sale. They sell, take the fees in advance and then hand it off to a third party. When the third party fails to deliver, there is no way to get the problem fixed.

Simple message. Don't deal with Home Depot on installation services. Go with a owner operator that can't pass the buck and blame problems on someone else.

Roof & Eavestrough/Soffit/Fascia

BUYER BEWARE... HOME DEPOT !!!!!!!!
We received and accepted a HOME DEPOT quote for a roof installation. The "crew" leader came to do a Pre-Inspection the day before to look at work site details...all was OK. The morning they were to start the job, we got a call from HOME DEPOT, saying they couldn't proceed with the job..citing "unforeseen issues" and to do this job, they would charge an extra $8,000!!!! HOME DEPOT Customer Care Management have done NOTHING to help..Bizarre as it sounds, this actually happened....If it didn't actually happen to us, would find this
story very unbelievable!! Go elsewhere for Home Installation job!!!!!

Roofing

I was very disappointed with Home Depot Installation Services. I ordered new roof installation. Fist of all sales representative assured me that my credit card would be charged only after completion of the job and if I am completely satisfied. In fact, my credit card was charged two days before they started to work, full amount. Job was done very poorly. Upon completion of the job installation crew was notified that some installation was done poorly but they refused to fix it and left the site.

Home Depot Canada Counter-top installation NIGHTMARE

Please be aware and DON'T order any installation from Home Depot, or you are for a nasty surprise!!!
We requested new quartz counter tops for our new kitchen which cost us almost $3000, after 3 weeks they showed up with the wrong size and had to reorder them. We explained that we haven't had kitchen sink for 5 weeks now and can you at least hook up our sink and faucet temporarily and after many many calls and discussions they finally agreed to do so. However, after 6 days now, and calling numerous times to follow up on the status of this plumbing and why no one called us for an appointment or come to hook up our sink, I got Home Depot's installation phone number and found out that they had my phone number wrong (can you believe that!!!!!!!!) I mean, a big company like Home Depot has lost its communication link to get the right phone number. Now they say, "oh, ok now someone will call you to set up an appointment", what the h$#@? someone call us to make an appointment for God knows when!
When I called back their Project Support Center and finally talked to a person in charge, he says, it is impossible for our installation dept. or anyone who has access to your file to have the wrong phone number. SO, someone is being dishonest with us and giving us run around. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH AN INSTALLATION! We've been washing our dishes in our bath tub for all this time and obviously they don't care.

Entrance door instalation

We shopped around and Home Depot had best prices and installation. The clerk at the store was very informative and helpful. Ordered the door quickly and fully explained the process. The installer contacted us, came out to measure the door and provide an installation date. Door arrived on time and was professionally installed by the installer. He was extremely knowledgable and went the extra mile to ensure the door was installed correctly. Overall, a superior job completed by all.

Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning

Mike Ross and his assistant Jack phoned prior to scheduled arrival. They were courteous and professional. Mike took time to explain what they were about to do. They were careful handling my furniture. They were thorough in cleaning our couch as well as our carpeting. Mike offered other services including sanitizing and 'ScotchGuarding' which we declined as not needed due to low wear on the carpets. I will call them again when we need our carpets cleaned again.

Roofing

Home Depot installed my roof but left my eaves troughs full of roofing debris which completely blocked the downspout. They also removed my neighbour's encroaching eaves trough and did not replace it. All of this could not be seen from the ground level. The net result, several months later, was extensive water damage to my house that led to serious mould problems.

I've been trying to work with Home Depot for almost 2 months now to get them to take ownership of the damage caused with no resolution.

Highly unprofessional. I've heard similar stories from other people that have used them as well.

Recommendation -- DO NOT USE!
