The contractors who worked on finishing our basement were great guys. They were very skilled at each job they were assigned and were open to improvement and changes as the job progressed. Any corrections or repairs were made without hesitation and the quality of their work was excellent, and finished ahead of schedule. I recommend this company to anyone looking to finish their basement properly.
An excellent electronics company owned by Richard Juras called Pure CI- Pure Custom Integrations was also referred to us by Finished Basements and did a great job with the electronics.

There are plenty of contractors to chose from in the phone book and online if you want to finish your basement and we had our share of meetings. However, ISM Renobuilders Ltd. (finishedbasement.ca) stuck out because of the positive reviews, and after meeting and discussing the project with Vitaliy, we were convinced we had the right company. The price wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive. The detailed forms for each aspect of the project you need to be aware of and communication as to what to expect the next day were very helpful in minimizing disruption to our day-to-day lives. They have a trustworthy, courteous and hardworking group of craftsman. These guys are full service -- from creating the design to following through in making it exactly as it was planned. Everyone who worked on the design, lighting, electric, plumbing and painting is a professional - hard working, efficient and clean, and the result is a quality of work that exceeds expectations. They were always on time and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Our basement was finished in just over 2 weeks. We are very happy with the finished results and we highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get work done on their basement.

Upon contacting a number of companies, we decided to go with Finished Basement because of the way they approach projects. Their quote was neither the most expensive nor the cheapest, and while their estimate of 2-3 weeks to complete the job might sound at first too good to be true, when you see how they work you can understand why they are able to pull it off without compromising quality (our project was done in 2 weeks). They were always on time, always cleaned up at the end of the day, they answered our questions, promptly responded to our calls and accommodated to our requests. Natalie's advice was very helpful to make up our minds for the flooring and wall colours and Igor (electrician) helped us come up with an effective design for all electrical points.

The project went smoothly, with minimal disruption to our lives, and we are pleased with the end result. These guys know their stuff, from the estimation phase with Vitalyi where they use detailed forms to walk you through each aspect of the project you need to be aware of, to the execution where they have developed a well thought approach that allows them to plan and carry out projects effectively (i.e., getting materials on site on time, coordinating who will be on site each day to do specific tasks, etc.).

A couple of minor details for improvement that we noticed later on after the end of the project: when taking measurements for getting custom blinds for the windows we found out the space left on the wall around the windows wasn't quite the same (varied by window), and the custom shelves installed in the laundry closet weren't uniform either, nothing you can notice at first sight but only when actually taking measurements.

Overall, we are satisfied with the work and glad that we were able to get a nice basement finished without spending several weeks on the project.

We live in south Mississauga and had three estimates done before allowing Basements.ca to renovate our basement. We found Basements.ca through word of mouth from another customer who highly recommended this company. We viewed their basement first, to see the quality of work we might expect. After gutting our basement, it was clear that the original builders had cut corners and compromised safety with respect to the steel support beams. It clearly should not have passed inspection. Basements.ca brought this to our attention addressed the issue in a most professional manner. They brought in a structural engineer to assess and resolve the situation, to ensure that there would be no safety issues. The decision making followed a logical process, and suggestions were made that we wouldn't have even thought of. Reinforcing a beam to allow the removal of an intrusive support post, bathroom and gas fireplace location, lighting suggestions...they had lots of great ideas. Vitaliy and his crew were very accessible and responded to all our concerns quickly. They were good to their word in completing this project on time and on budget. Even a year and a half later they came back to help us with a minor plumbing issue in our bathroom... same day service at no charge. You don't see follow-up customer support like this very often.

Everyone else gave us vague quotes (some cheaper and some more expensive) and we never fully understood what the basement would end up looking like. But with finishedbasement.ca, we knew exactly what we were paying for. Joe and Natalie did a fanstastic job of walking us through all the steps of realizing our dream basement.

We also want to thank all the trades people who worked on our basement. They did a great job and never bothered us with stupid questions or issues (which is often the case with other contractors). It was a pleasure dealing with all from Finished Basements. Joe, Natalie, Igor and all the crews were professional, polite and timely in their work. Our basement is approximatley 1100sq.ft and the job was completed in 2 weeks as promised with no sacrifice on the quality of work. After completion, Igor completed his review of the work done and we came in slightly under the quote...a nice surprise. The only thing left for us to do was to move in the furntiture and enjoy!

With the passing of my dad, my mom was becoming lonely in her place. We were concerned for her well-being, and decided we needed to take her in, but wanted for her to continue to feel that she had her own space. We decided to finish the basement, and create a 2-bedroom in-law suite. We searched the web, and found several contractors. Many promised a lot, others seemed a little outside of their comfort zone. When I spoke to Vitalyis, we knew straight away that these guys knew what they were talking about. They specialized in basements, and it showed.
