I cannot express how happy I am with choosing FinishedBasement. Igor and his team were excellent! Finding a contractor was such a horrific experience, we called many of the top (local) contractors, half would only provide a quote over the phone, a third didn't return our call, etc. One company in particular, Penguin Basement, came and did a thorough review and quote and we were quite pleased. When it came to make a decision, we called, emailed, texted and no response back (this was after a spiel that they are always accessible). Completely deflated we went back to the drawing board looking for contractors on Homestars. I am Glad we did. Here is what I learned in my experience:

- Some contractors will budget just for labor and not material (this is a bonus if you wanted to hunt for good deals, but not great because warranty would be null)
- Some contractors would ONLY use their materials (much like a homebuilder) - not great if you don't like their options.
- FinishedBasements method was ideal for us, they created a budget within departments (i.e., electrical, plumbing etc.) and had a great showroom but we also could shop for those deals (they extended their discounts to us as well).
- another big thing was - they're bonded, covered by WSIB, and do the necessary permits.

The really impressive stuff about FinishedBasement.ca:
- they finished our basement in 2 weeks
- workmanship extremely high, workers were friendly, courteous, and tried to keep the job-site as tidy as possible (considering it was a major renovation)
- specific/special tradesmen (painters, electrical, plumber - so not general contractor who does everything)
- they came every day, on time and were accessible 24 hours.
- From sales (Andrij), to design consultation (Natalie), to Igor the electrician, to Igor the owner, they were outstanding.

We are so pleased with the overall experience, and are thrilled with our new, modern, comfortable living / entertainment space. We still cant get over the transformation.

With the horror stores of contracts out there it was such a joy to have finished basements do my job. From the start with Andrew to the last meeting with Igor the job was very professional and extremely well done. I can not say enough about the quality of the work , the commitment to the job and the materials that occurred during this (just a little less than two weeks) process. You never felt that they came one day and would not be back until the next week. The guys were committed to doing your work and were not spread out over 20 other jobs. I really appreciated the help from Natalie in working through the colours and materials. There was no hidden costs. All was laid out and explained. I have had a horror story of renovation to an on-suit so was very apprehensive . This has been such a great experience and I would recommend them over and over again!!!!!!!!

Wow! We paid for our basement to be finished in 2.5 weeks and indeed they finished in 2.5 weeks. The crew were unbelievable! They worked like machines and did an amazing job finishing such a big job professionally. We are just so impressed with their strong work ethic and dedication to finishing the project as promised. We love our new basement, it is such a breath of fresh air walking down the stairs to our new living space. Thank you everyone at Finished Basements!

When we started researching our project, we received advice to find a good contractor with a detailed contract. Well wow! The level of detail in their contract far exceeded anyone’s expectations or past experiences with other contractors. Everything was clearly outlined so we knew up front, all the costs. They took all the stress out of the project by providing all the service/products through 1 company.

Great customer service and always available for questions. The quality of work and attention to detail was exceptional. They kept everything as clean as possible for a home renovation. They were fantastic about any final touch ups. They even came back for something we had missed on the last walk through.

We were impressed to hear feedback from the inspectors on the quality/detail of the electrical work. It was so comforting to hear that they have such a wonderful reputation within the industry.

We are so happy we went with finishedbasement.ca to do our basement. The contract was detailed and every last detail/charge was clearly outlined. GREAT JOB! Completing a basement can be stressful for the consumer, just trying to decide on who to hire is a big deal because we all want great value for the lowest dollar. I received quotes from several different contractors and their quote wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive but the deciding factor was that they were the only company that backed up their work with a full warranty and the company was fully insured. Lets face it, there are people out there who will take your money and run or do poor work. Very impressed with the fact we attended a showroom and were able to see a lot of the products...showers, flooring, tiles, toilets, faucets and so on and all good quality. You don't have to choose from there, you can supply your own as well. Everyone was so very friendly to deal with. Igor was great at helping us lay out a floor plan, Joe was great with pricing and organization, and Natalie was awesome at helping with the decor. I felt like I was buying a new home again the way it was all set up. Workmanship is great, friends and family all have the "ooo's and Ahh"s" comment. The "A" team crew were great to work with, always keeping me up to speed with any changes that had to be made, if any at all. Igor the electrician really knows his stuff and suggested things I didn't realize could be done. I had two gas fireplaces installed and they are the centre pieces. Thanks Vlad!. The finishing crew painted and installed doors and floors and finished off the bathroom. Can't remember their names sorry, but excellent job! I know this is a long review but was so impressed with the entire company. Even after the job is completed, I still get a quick response when I reach out to them if I have any questions. From quote to show room to construction to conclusion- Finished Basement Ca was quick, courteous, and professional. Our 14 day job was completed in 10 (I was thrilled) and our basement looks wonderful. Very happy & have already recommended to our next door neighbor.
