Securtek

Our alarm was triggered while we were at work. Securtek sent a guard to our home to investigate. They were on site within 10-15 mins. They determined that no break-in had occurred and our dog was the one who set off the alarm. Happy Securtek was able to take check our our home while we were at work.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SecurTek. I am in the military and have had Securtek for 2 years now. I subscribed upon being posted to Saskatchewan in 2009. I have been posted our of province recently so I called them to cancel my service. They told me that because I signed a 5 year contract, I would have to pay out the remainder of the contract plus the equipment cost. Total = over $1500.00. I explained my situation and they were not empathetic. They told me the only alternative I had was to pay out the equipment cost, then purchase new equipment at my new home and then sign a NEW 5 year contract. This would equal out to be more than the first option. I am completely dissatisfied this the treatment I have received from this company. Most contract that I have broken with other companies in the past have been more reasonable. Ie. Cancelled a cellular contract. Company charges you the monthly rate X # of months remaining = cancellation fee *Up to a maximum of X dollars. Not Securtek, they are more interested in the customer's money and less interested in retaining and protecting the customer! They may get my money for the rest of my current contract, but they have lost a customer for life!!!

SecurTek took over monitoring and service from Bolt Security here in the Greater Edmonton Area.

Our rear door looks to have shifted somewhat over the previous winter with us getting alarm trips from that sensor in the last couple of months.

Every time SecurTek monitoring called about the alarm going off we asked to have a service call to see if the sensors were too far apart on that door. We asked _SIX_ times with no callback from the service people.

When the service people finally called they indicated that they did not have a service ticket in their system up to that call (after the Nth time the alarm went off).

We have a number of clients that use Telsco. They are more expensive, but as a result of our experience working with our client's Telsco alarm management we are switching our business alarm systems to them.

We have had AAA alarms 4 years without any issues, and once they were taken over by Securetek who are out of Saskatchewan we have had constant problems. Our alarm went off one day and we were not contacted that the alarm was going off, which is what happened with AAA . They also said they dispatched a guard to check on the house, which never happened and they tried to charge us $45 which I refused to pay . They tried several times to get me to pay and I refused telling them a guard never showed up at our home, I know that because we were there minutes after the alarm went off. We still have monitoring but periodically they try and bring this $45 charge back and want us to pay it.

With the amount of alarm companies out there, you would think that they would try and keep the customer happy. Would I recommend this company , heck no.
