Install gas line and hook up Viking Range

GasGuys.ca was extremely friendly and professional, and accommodated our full-time work schedule by starting at 5:30pm. They stayed until the job was complete, and made sure to walk us through how to use our new stove. They were forthright about all costs beforehand (our installation was more expensive because we have a 48" range) and they were really knowledgeable.

My rating of 4/5 on satisfaction is because while they were drilling through our tile in order to run the gas line, they realized they couldn't get through to the other side (hitting brick or a joist or something) and had to drill a second hole through our brand new tile floor, which of course we did not appreciate. They explained that they weren't able to get precise measurements due to the house being askew, were quite apologetic about the hole, and even went out right away to buy grout of a similar colour and patched it up. So we do appreciate that, and since the grout patch is hidden underneath the range, I would give a 4.5/5 if I could, but I still feel extra care could have been taken (measure twice cut once) to only drill one hole into our newly-laid tile.

Despite this small thing, I would absolutely hire these guys again, as we still need to run the gas line out to our BBQ at some point. We have dealt with A LOT of various types of tradespeople over the years, and most of them aren't as friendly, professional and honest as GasGuys.ca

Approximate cost of services:
$600.00

Company Response

Hey Yvonne, thanks for the great review. I will admit, getting through to your basement proved to be more challenging than most jobs. I prefer to put the gas line as far to the back to the wall as possible to minimize the gap behind the range. In your situation, this brought us into the brick wall in your basement. When opening the 2nd hole, we were able to position it in a way that we can still get the range flush against the back wall by using a longer flexible connector. Your range is quite the piece of art though.
Overall i am glad you are satisfied with our work and will contact GasGuys.ca to run your BBQ line. Thanks again, George
