Red Robin Masonry

I am in the process of redoing my front garden landscaping getting a new front door. After removing the old porch, I discovered that the bricks underneath and around the top of my door needed to be redone. Based on reviews here, I hired Red Robin Masonry to do the work and I simply cannot recommend them highly enough. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Red Robin took the time to explain the work that needed to be done, why it was required and also gave me a heads up on potential other issues. I really appreciated this because after it was discovered that there was in fact no foundation at all sitting underneath the bottom bricks, I wasn't surprised. I recommend them without hesitation and will definitely hire them again.

Their crew is great from start to finish. Dave provided the most reasonable quote and his crew Jeremy and Nolan did a good job on the chimney. I thought the chimney cap is not properly aligned and Dave came by to take a look. He said it was just right and extended my warranty from 5 years to 15 years to my full satisfaction. Highly recommended!

I discovered Red Robin through HomeStars and am very pleased with the work that was done. From the very beginning, Dave was professional, patient, prompt and efficient. Our 100-year-old house was in bad need of some tuckpointing and we decided to do a full tuckpoint of the front of our house (which involved grinding out the mortar around each brick-vertical and horizontal surface). Not an easy job by any means but we do appreciate the results! The back was just a standard tuck point of the bricks and replacing some old bricks. Dave and his team worked hard and we felt like we got a new house! The job was done last year and the front still looks great and several neighbours have commented on how good it looks. We have no problem recommending Red Robin for any masonry work (and, actually, have given their name to a few of our neighbours).

The work was done in August. Although it was a small job, Dave promptly provided an estimate and gave us a date when work would be done. When the weather caused a delay in scheduling, he advised us of the change. Work was very well done - side of house and front stairs look great. I would highly recommend the company for their high quality of work, efficiency and friendly service.

While my neighbour was having major work done, I asked Red Robin to examine and make necessary repairs to my chimney. A small job, but done very well and professionally. Finished product looks excellent.

Had a great experience with Red Robin. The guys were always cheerful, with never a word of complaint, even while doing an awkward concrete pour in a tight space. They showed themselves to be a professional and respectful company that kept in close contact about dates and times, and always left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. I was particularly impressed when a small part of the work needed to be done after the first job. Dave had given me an estimate of "$200 -$300", and sure enough when the invoice came in, it was right at the low end of the estimate - $200 on the nose. Nicely done, guys!

I had a bunch of badly damaged bricks on my chimney from a broken gutter. Dave from Red Robin was easy to work with. They spent a lot of time trying to get the closest match possible for our brick, which was difficult since it is no longer made. The crew showed up when scheduled, did a great job and cleaned up the site thoroughly.

Definitely a great experience and will use them again in the future for masonry work.

I called Red Robin to have some crumbling bricks replaced at the side of our house - a small job, but the work and attitude by Red Robin were anything but. Mike and Dave were both so professional and took the time to make a special visit to make sure they would have the right brick to match the exisiting ones on our hundred-year-old house.

When the crumbling bricks were removed and many more came out and had to be re-laid, there was no extra charge or grumbling from them. I came home to a job completed and the cleanup was impeccable.

Dave was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I contacted three other companies to repair/replace several spalling bricks on our chimney but they all wanted to replace the entire chimney for $3000+. Dave was the only honest one of the bunch, and he agreed that the chimney only needed some bricks replaced. He explained to me how the other companies want to make the job worth their while and was not surprised to hear I was told to replace the whole thing. He gave me a very competitive quote for the chimney, installation of flashing (since it currently didn't have any!) as well as spot tuckpointing around the house. There were several scheduling delays due to the incredibly wet spring we had but Dave was very communicative and excellent about keeping me updated. His crew did a great job, and cleaned up the site. Some of my garden got a little mashed but I know the scaffolding set up was more complicated than he anticipated and I was not charged more than quoted - so I was willing to let it slide. I highly recommend Red Robin, and I will definitely use them again in the future.

My partner and I purchased a recently renovated home. One thing that was not corrected in the renovation was the retched retaining wall in the front of the house. It's a block wall that borders our parking pad. Rather than rebuild the wall, Dave suggested that we just put stone facing on the wall.
We couldn't be happier with the result. Not only does the work look great but it was much less expensive than the other quotes we received that suggested we have the wall rebuilt. We're very impressed with our Red Robin experience!
