Installation of Windows & Patio Door

We decided on Brock because we wanted North Star windows (we realize they are better windows, worse windows & roughly equivalent windows out there from other manufacturers). Brock eventually gave us the best price for triple glazed windows that other installers of North Star windows couldn't match. Furthermore, we were looking for warranty coverage on the installation side. Brock belongs to an industry group that provides improved warranty on the installation of the windows and patio door. The group will also mediate any possible dispositions. Many smaller installers and installers owned by the window manufacturer don't belong to this industry group.

We also liked the fact that Brock included trim for around the windows that was wider than standard trim. This resulted in a lot touch up work & paint to the walls around where the windows were replaced. Small, but an important point that saved us lots of time & effort in the end.

We did notice a significant improvement over the previous manufacturer windows (Fenbrook circa 1995). Less drafts and less noise. Can't comment on energy savings as this past winter was worse than the previous one and we haven't owned the house for more than two winters. I will say the interior frames for the windows are no longer cold the way they were with the old windows.

As for the installation Brock assigned it to a team of two installers. The installers did a good job and pointed out areas where attention would be required. For example, the bricks below the windows on the southern facing exterior wall. This was expected as rain, snow and trickling water over the brick will eventually erode it based on the wall it was laid. I knew at some point in time I would have to hire a brick mason to look at this - replace the brick with cement (will look better too). However, the installation job really required a 3 person team so it took longer than expected. No real complaints on the installation side.

One of the main windows (centre one) came with too many vertical grills that did not match the other two. Brock was advised of the error and the contact person confirmed that on the contract and a replacement was ordered and installed.

The only issue I really had was after sale communication. I generally wasn't able to get quick replies either from the sales person or from the office reception. However, once I got in contact with Jim Weir from Brock I never had a communication issue with Brock.

As a salesperson, Brian Vuckovic was good at suggesting options and colours. In addition, instead of trying to up-sell us on a front entrance he suggested we simply change the glass in the door and paint the entrance a colour that would complement the windows and the brick. This would give us a few more years without having to replace the front entrance with a new one. That's what we did and Brock will be our first choice in going with a new front entrance when it's time to replace it.

I was very happy with the patience and time spent by my sales representative Brian V. in helping me determine the designs for my windows. These windows make my house much more attractive and comfortable.

I am very satisfied with the quality of windows and installation that Brock Doors and Windows provided me over 10 years ago and again this year. My home has been made much more comfortable with Brock Windows and I believe I am getting a good price considering the high quality I am receiving.

Window & Door Replacement

We had some large windows and entrance doors recently replaced. The large windows were technically complex, with structural reinforcement and tempered glass required on the bottom window of each set. Stefan and crew did a great job of lifting these heavy windows into place and overall providing a quality installation.

There was a hiccup- the windows were ordered as triple pane but were delivered as double pane. However, this was promptly rectified by Brock and we are very happy with the quality and appearance of the final product.

The sales person Dorian knew exactly what I wanted, and the installers were exceptional. They were very clean, polite, and would even clean as they were going. They provided great service for the money, the windows have already saved us money on the energy bill. They have also been quieter then I expected and they are very easy to open. I will use Brock again when I do the basement. My experience has been great from beginning to end. The salesman even came back after the project was done when he didn't have to which was very nice. I would highly recommend the company to anyone.

Michael Scanlan was knowledgeable and helpful in guiding our decision on the types of windows for our two homes. We haven't experienced any problems with the products or order. From start to finish, it was a very smooth process. Special thanks to the wife of the installer who not only set up the installation appointments, but rolled up her sleeves & installed the wood framing. Good work everyone at Brock Doors & Windows!

Windows

Absolutely the worst company ever! Stay far far away from this company.

In early August 2014 I contacted Brock to have two side windows, a bay window, and a patio door replaced. The salesman, Dorian, promptly came that weekend to show all the varying options. We ordered side windows that tilted, to facilitate ease of cleaning. Within a day of finalizing what we ordered, Dorian was quick to email me back with a contract that he wanted signed and returned. However once they received our deposit that all changed. The contract stated that the work would be installed within eight weeks. After not hearing anything from them about installation for over six weeks, I emailed Dorian. I had to send several emails before I even got a response from him. His excuse being that it was the end of the month and he was extremely busy. He stated the windows were still in production, and it would be another two weeks, but insisted that the extra wait would be well worth it. Four weeks later the installer, John, contacted me for a date to install the windows.

So at the three month mark I finally thought the windows which we ordered were ready to be installed. However five days before the installation date, Dorian called and left a voice message to say he knew installation was going to be soon, and wanted to discuss the windows. No mention was made of what the nature of the issue was. The day before the installation, he emails saying there was a software issue that caused the side windows to come as liftouts, not the tilt windows that we ordered. And that if we wanted to wait for the tilt windows it would take another four weeks. When the installer, John, came the next day he told me that the liftout windows were sitting in the warehouse for the past two months. So the only conclusion was that Dorian originally ordered the wrong windows in the first place, and there was no software issue that caused the incorrect windows to be delivered. When I called him that day to say that the wrong windows were delivered, he stated we can either have those windows installed for a discount of $100 each, or wait for another four weeks for the correct windows to be ready. Then he stated had I returned his phone message from earlier that week, this could all have been avoided.

So basically first he made an error in ordering the wrong windows. After hearing nothing from them in over six weeks I had to repeatedly contact them for an update on the installation. After having waited for three months before installation, the wrong windows arrived. Then be told I will have to wait yet another 4 weeks for the correct windows to be ready. And if that wasn't enough, to further insinuate that it was my fault the wrong windows were delivered because I did not return his phone call from a few days prior. It is a shame how Brock treats people as they obviously do not value customers. I will never recommend Brock to anyone for anything.

Windows and doors

We actually had our windows and doors replaced by Brock over 3 years ago. We found the salesman Sandy extremely informative and helpful. It was a large purchase for us and we had a lot of questions, he answered all of them. The installers were excellent. Hard working, detailed and came up with effective solutions to a couple of issues that showed up with our older home. Brock honoured their warranty a couple of times, each time without fuss. The performance of the windows is remarkable as is their aesthetics. Follow up calls from Sandy were appreciated also.

Steve Matika, the salesman, was knowledgeable, professional and returned our calls promptly when we had questions. George Claudette and Pat did an excellent installation job including the cleanup. Both Steve Matika and the installers did an excellent job all around.

Because the installers did such an exceptional job the first time they replaced some windows in my home, I specifically requested that they be the ones to complete the installation of new windows I had recently purchased. I would definitely recommend Brock Doors and Windows and already have to several friends and neighbours. I was most satisfied with the installers. They were very professional and went out of their way to make sure everything was left neat and tidy. I am a little picky about my carpets but they were courteous enough to constantly take off their shoes when they came inside. Both installers, Derek and his partner (Brian ?) were wonderful! I was very pleased and satisfied with the job done by Brock Doors & Windows. Everyone is very professional. I would recommend Brock Doors & Windows to anyone looking to replace windows in their home. The whole process from beginning to end was quick and easy. This is a great company with an excellent product! Thank you!
